About the property

Cottage in Boscastle, Cornwall, England - Only A Short Walk From Boscastle Harbour And Village Centre, Perfectly Placed For Cliff Top Walks

Frogapits is a traditional stone-built Cornish cottage that has a charm all of its own. Set in a beautiful garden with a stream running through it, it's a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the perfect Cornish holiday. There are plenty of activities to be had during the day - cliff-top walks straight from the front door, beaches and surf spots within easy driving distance. In the evening, relax with a barbecue by the stream in the garden, or walk to one of Boscastle's three characterful pubs (the nearest of which is only 50 yards away). In the winter, the cottage comes into its own with a wood burning stove in the sitting room and a smokeless fuel stove in the kitchen - get both going at once and it couldn't be cosier. We really believe that you'd be hard pushed to find a house with so much going for it - as a family we've been staying here for decades and hope to do so for many more.

About Duncan and Rob Soar

Frogapits is owned by brothers Rob and Duncan. The cottage has been in our family for several decades and we and our family and friends have spent many happy holidays staying at the cottage.

Duncan and Rob Soar purchased this cottage in 1980

Why Duncan and Rob Soar chose North Cornwall

We've always loved coming to Frogapits for its unique charm and its wonderful location. Whether you're having a summer barbecue or picnic by the stream in the garden, or battening down the hatches, lighting the fires and keeping out the Cornish weather in the winter, the cottage is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing break. The rugged north Cornish cliffs are only a short walk away, there are beaches to drive to in the summer, some wonderful village pubs to spend the evening, great Cornish pasties to be had from the village baker's, and so many other things to enjoy about your stay here.

A beautiful cosy cottage full of character. Stunning location and a garden complete with stream!

  • 5 of 5

Frogapits is perfectly located in Boscastle being just yards from the village yet set in a stunning tranquil garden complete with a stream running through it. The cottage is warm, full of character and it was a privilege to be able to stay here. Everything we needed was provided and we loved eating outside in the garden listening to the stream and the birds. For those who love beautiful cosy cottages you will not find a better one in Boscastle. We, no doubt like the many others who had written in the guest book, will be returning. The walk to the harbour entrance and coastal paths takes minutes. We visited Boscastle farm shop and cafe and had an amazing lunch with views that would be hard to beat. Rocky Valley was another spectacular walk. This is the kind of place I would love to live in! The cottage was immaculately clean, Towells provided, a very powerful shower and log burners in both the kitchen and lounge. The parking on the road was absolutely not an issue and allowed easy loading/unloading. Tea, Milk and biscuits were there on arrival. We loved staying at Frogapits and would highly recommend this cottage.

A lovely cottage in a great location.

  • 4 of 5

Frogapits is a characterful comfortable cottage to stay in with everything you could need. The location could not be better. It is only a short walk to Boscastle harbour and all the facilities that Boscastle has to offer. Set in it's own gardens with a lovely stream running through. Parking was a little hit and miss as you have to take pot luck in order to park nearby. If it had it's own parking space it would be just perfect.

Idyllic, secluded yet convenient

  • 5 of 5

This is a very charming and sweet old cottage, tastefully decorated with excellent facilities. Although the village is only a few hundred yards away, when you are in the secluded (but sunny) garden you feel like you are in a rural setting, with the stream running adjacent. The log burner makes for cosy night times. Excellent bath and shower and very comfy bed. We hope to return soon.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

This was such a fun experience for us! Frogapits is a cute little cottage in a beautiful setting. It's very close to everything you need in town. We didn't have a car and had no problems with that - there are friendly taxi drivers in the area and the bus stop is really just a few minutes walk down the hill from the cottage. Our favorite days were the days we took local walks, had great meals at pubs in town, and then returned to our little sitting room with a glass of wine and the fire. We would love to return. :-)

well located cosy cottage with fabulous garden

  • 4 of 5

Frogapits is probably the best appointed cottage in Boscastle. With the large garden surrounding the property, there is sunshine all day. There are lots of different areas to sit in the garden to enjoy the sunshine. The garden & stream were a big hit for us, our teenage children and our whippet.

Inside it is roomy and very cosy with the 2 wood burners & everything you could need is supplied. You don't need a car - fabulous coastal walks in both directions are 2 minutes' walk from the cottage. We will definitely return, it's so idyllic. The only thing we would change is the double bed - too soft for us but that is so personal and certainly wouldn't put us off returning!
