Beach House Mundesley 5-star, award-winning house, sea views, hot tub & sauna

Updated: 20-Oct-2016
Beach House Mundesley, North Norfolk - Perfect for Hen weekends, birthday weekends with friends, summer holidays, Christmas and New Year

Beach House is a Visit England 5 Star rated & Gold Award, luxury self catering residence, right opposite the beach, with a hot tub and sauna. We have recently won a 'Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence' based on 100% of our reviews being 5 stars!

As owners, we think the very best thing about Beach House is the incredible location - right opposite the beach access. Come out of the front door, cross the (not very busy village) road, down a few steps and you are on the beach. People tell us that they park up and don't use their cars again for the weekend or week because everything is right there on your doorstep. Mundesley village has everything you would hope for in a seaside village: butcher, baker, fresh fish stall including the famous Cromer crabs and lobsters, post office, fish and chip shop & pizza and burger shop, Tesco local open till 10pm. Just to the right of Beach House is a seaside pub (The Ship, Mundesley) serving delicious food and a friendly welcome for everyone. In the village we have an excellent chinese takeaway, people travel for miles to get a takeaway from the New Sage! There are also two hotels, The Royal and The Manor.

We live 30 minutes from Beach House so personally check the house before each and every booking, our standards are very high, and if there are any problems you need us to attend to whilst you are at the house we can be there within the hour. We take great pride in making sure Beach House has the best quality white egyptian cotton sheets, bed throws are from The White Company and we leave out two big fluffy white towels for each person and for that little touch of luxury, a white monogrammed spa gown for each person, from going from the house out to the hot tub and sauna.

We are about 10 minutes drive (should you decide to get the car out!) from Cromer with the lovely old fashioned pier where you can go crab fishing or learn to surf at Surf School, about 30 minutes from Sheringham which is another lovely seaside town with our favourite thing: the North Norfolk Railway which is an old station with steam trains taking you on trips to Weybourne and Holt in real old fashioned style and comfort. If you are looking for a bit of nightlife or BIG shops and city life we are 45 minutes away from Norwich which you can get to by train from North Walsham or Cromer if you like.

About the Owner

We bought Beach House in 2007 after viewing it on a stormy night in November, the wind was howling and the sea, which we could see and hear opposite the house was amazing and dramatic! Beach House needed a lot of work, and we have lovingly stripped the house out and rebuilt it as a beautiful, mainly white interior house with lovely stripped floors, and luxurious furnishings. We love Beach House and hope you will too. Beach House is a big, spacious house, perfect as a hen party venue, or birthday party venue, enough space to sleep 14 (or 16 with two on camp beds) of your friends and family, enough space to spread out, or eat dinner together and enough to escape each other too. We have four children so it's very child friendly and we don't mind sticky fingers, and sand in the beds!

Guestbook comments from the owner

From Trip Advisor:

June 2014: We have just returned from our stay at the Beach House and we are all gutted we couldn't have spent longer there. This was mine and my husbands second visit but this time took his side of the family for a 50th wedding anniversary.

Everyone was almost over whelmed at the attention to detail and stung beauty of the house. Imogen has thought of everything making this house feel like home.

We were blessed with great weather so we made full use of the garden which was in our opinion an additional gorgeous room of the house. We also made full use of the fact the beach was literally on the door step.

Imogen clearly puts love into this house and it shows in every beautifully decorated room.

We cannot recommend this house enough and we are already thinking of a reason to visit again.

May 2014: The place is gorgeous, there is no disappointing bedroom, which is great when you are in a large group. The garden is a sun trap, with the beach location just making it an ideal sea side retreat. We were sad to leave & therefore made arrangements to return that year, while we were still there. Nothing seems to much for the owners. Highly recommend.

May 2014: From the second we walked in and saw the welcome note from Imogen and the box of chocolates to the goodbye text as we were leaving I couldn't have been happier. The house is amazing. It's just perfect. 7 big, clean, spacious, well designed and comfortable double bedrooms - all with clean fluffy robes and towels. There are 3 great bathrooms - one with a huge roll-top bath that you just have to see to believe! The kitchen has everything you need + more and the table comfortably sits everyone round it. The small touches like dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, coffee etc was amazing and not expected at all. Can't go on enough about the outside spa area with hot tub. Needless to say it was very difficult to get me out of the hot tub! The house is just across the road from the beach and a pub that does a decent Sunday roast. I didn't want to leave!

Great family house

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend. The facilities were everything that we could have wanted. Everything was clean and well maintained. Imogen was very helpful and welcoming. The house is well placed for walking or sight-seeing in north Norfolk. We enjoyed exploring the local area and then coming back to relax in the hot tub and sauna. As a family group we spend a long weekend away every year. This is the first time we have said we will come back to a property. We would recommend this property for celebrations or just a chill out weekend.

Me and 11 other ladies have just returned from the BEST hen weekend at The Beach House.

The owners are lovely, the house is incredibly and everything you need is right there.

The location is stunning, the beach is within a few skips! I have no bad word to say about the beach house and I will return one day.

Thank you

Better than we could have ever expected!

About 10 of us stayed at The Beach House for a hen do. We were all so impressed with the size and high standard of the house. Every room was beautiful and it was just perfect! I have been recommending to everyone and intend to go back soon.

Fantastic beach house

  • 5 of 5

This was my second visit to The Beach House. The 1st was December last year for s mid week break with my partner and then this visit was for my Hen Weekend. There were 14 of us and we had a great time. The house is fantastic and it's all the little personal features that make it so special, from the personalised bath robes to the beautiful flowers and chocolates left for us on arrival. The hot tub is fab along with the beautiful sea views. I love this house and imogen and Phil the owners are so lovely. I cannot recommend this house enough. I been when it's just been the 2 of us and I've been in a party of 14. I can't wait to come again. The house had everything you can possibly want and more.

Perfect 😃

I stayed here for a long weekend for my daughter's hen party. What a fabulous house, well equipped and lots of extras - including a hot tub. We had Chef2dine4 cater for us on the Saturday evening and a local beautician provided lots of pamper treats on the Sunday. Beach House is special - I've already booked for my 60th next year!

From the Owner

Right opposite the house is a path down to the beach, it's a matter of steps and you can see the beach from the bedroom windows. If you are bringing children it's so easy to park the car and just go up and down the steps to the beach with them, it's so convenient for young families. We have four dedicated car parking spaces opposite the house in the car park of The Ship. Mundesley is a lovely sea side village, it has a thriving village with lots of little village shops including greengrocers, butchers, deli, post office, cafes, gift shops etc. We also have a great chinese takeaway, a Spar shop open till 10pm each night and even on Christmas day, fish and chip shop. The locals are always up to something, either Am Dram, or village fetes, or fundraisers for the Inshore lifeboat team. The local pub is almost opposite the house, it's a village pub full of locals, log fires.

From the Owner

Mundesley has a mini golf course and amusement arcade, a fantastic park for children which is new, and a skate park and Astro turf for older children, our 9 year old and 12 year old love to go there with scooters, skateboards or the football. We are very close to Cromer and all the delights of the North Norfolk coast, including Sheringham and the steam trains, Blakeney for seal trips, Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall for walks and culture. Cromer has a cinema and end of the pier theatre. Sheringham has a full programme of Plays and films and you can get to Norwich for a day shopping in 35 minutes. If you come with a big group all the major supermarkets deliver to the house so that makes things much easier. Also we have an excellent Personal Chef contact who regularly visits to cook special dinners for birthday parties. If you are coming for a hen weekend we have numerous activities we have organised, from Butler in the Buff, traveling beauty therapists, cocktail classes, surf school, cupcake classes, craft classes, Mad Hatters tea Party etc. Please see our dedicated hen page for more information specifically for Hens:
