We acquired Casa Juan in 2012. The Villa is maintained & furnished to a high standard, it sits within a quiet cul-de-sac in its own private plot with gated off road parking. Externally the plot is mainly lawn, with two patio/BBQ areas, large private pool and two mature palm trees that provide some welcoming shade during those hot sunny days; there is ample space for sunbathing, eating and general outdoor fun. Internally the property has a large open plan fully furnished contemporary lounge / dining area, with ‘American’ style kitchen, master bedroom with double bed and en-suite, family bathroom and two twin rooms, one of which can also accommodate a cot bed. Casa Juan is ideal for families young and old with/without children. The beautiful enclosed bay of Cala'n Porter with its sandy beach, shallow water, and children’s play area is only 900 metres away.

Casa Juan was a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. It is well-equipped and nicely presented. The location is very quiet. The owners and maintenance company were very helpful and always quick to respond to any queries.

Lovely well equipped villa

We had a two week stay last month and had a lovely time. From the first contact the owners were a delight to deal with. They answered all query's promptly and even gave great advice relating to car hire. The villa is perfect with a lovely large pool and everything you could need for a great holiday. We loved the barbecue and garden area including the great pool. It's in a quiet area but near enough to get to the town on foot, also a great location for visiting Mahon and further afield. The only little things we would change would be more pillows (and pillow cases) and air con. Those things would not stop us booking again though. A great experience.

Fabulous villa great for families

We have just returned home from a 2 week stay at Casa Jaun villa it was everything we could have asked for and more ! Presented excellently, very clean, comfy beds with every home comfort we needed. Cala en Porter is beautiful but we always looked forward to going back to our lovely villa. The swimming pool is huge and lovely to cool down in after sun bathing in the garden. Free wifi was excellent for the children and it worked very efficiently. Loved the music docking station and enjoyed chilling watching the DVDs after an evening out at the Irish bar our regular after 6 visits to menorca. This is our 3 visit to Cala en Porter and we will definitely be coming again to stay in Casa Jaun it's fantastic didn't want to come home ! Situated in a very quiet cul de sac it is very private great to chill and relax but not to far from the town where you can eat in a different restaurant every night for 14 nights which we do ! El Pulpo, Seagrams and Big ALS are our favourites. Sean and Lisa are very kind and helpful answering any questions we had and helping me to find hassle free car hire for the fortnight, I would recommend a car as the island is beautiful with some lovely places to visit and it's great for popping into the centre of Cala en Porter as the villa is on the outskirts about a fifteen minute walk to the centre. Anyone who stays at Casa Jaun will love it 10/10 Thankyou we will be back !!!!!! :)

Our first Villa Holiday and definitely not the last, spotless villa with a lovely pool and outside area. Villa was modern and clean with everything you could need. Sean and Lisa were very helpful and made the holiday run as smoothly as possible. The wife was really happy as the washing machine meant hardly any dirty washing came home.

The children loved it we loved it hope to go back soon.

Location

From the Owner

After falling in love with the island we decided to take the plunge and buy our own villa. Following the purchase we have updated and refurnished elements of the Villa and are overwhelmed to actually own such a beautiful property. Our agent on the island makes sure the property is well maintained throughout the year so that our guests enjoy it as much as we do. We have also travelled much of the island and are happy to advise on places to visit and where to find the best beaches and tourist attractions. We live and work in the UK, so are on hand to answer any queries about the property and the island.

Nearest Airport : Mahon at 6 Miles Nearest Barpub : Sipaissa at 700 Metres Nearest Ferry : Mahon at 8 Miles Nearest Golf : Son Beau at 16 Miles Nearest Restaurant : El Pulpo at 700 Metres Nearest Beach : Cala en Porter at 900 Metres

Coast/Beach:

Cala'n Porter beach is only 900 metres walk away and is very child-friendly. There is always a life guard on duty (but they are rarely used), pedalos and umbrellas are available for hire; there are two beach side cafes, a shop and public conveniences. There are many other lovely beaches all over the island (over 100 in fact), all within easy reach for those with a car or why not try one of the many coastal walks along the islands trails.

Travel:

Mahon airport is 15 minutes by car (NB Cala'n Porter is not under the flight path). Car hire is not essential and a taxi to the villa costs about 25 Euros. We can advise on car hire companies & transfers etc if required.

Distances:

It is a 700 metres walk to Cala'n Porter with its restaurants, bars and supermarkets.

For those wishing to explore the island by car, nothing is too far away; why not visit the city of Mahon with its harbour and narrow streets (20 minutes), Fornells with its picturesque port and fantastic restaurants (40 minutes), the beach at Cala Galdana (30 minutes), the city of Cuitadella (60 minutes) or the water park at Calan Bosch (60 minutes), these are just some of the islands delights.

Further Details:

The beach at Cala'n Porter is beautiful and it catches the sun until late in the evening; in our opinion there is nothing like sitting at one of the beach side cafes after a hard days sun bathing sipping your favourite tipple in the early evening sun listening to relaxing tunes!

Evening entertainment and dining can be found at the local bars and restaurants such as the Brasserie Dos Pablo's (Excellent food), Seagrams (good food & efficient service), Sa Paissa (evening entertainment), Hostel Castillo (Spanish cuisine), El Pulpo (good food), The Village Pub (good food & drink), 007 bar (live music, tapas, cocktails), Casa Tia (Tapas bar) to name but a few.

For those who like to stay up until the sun rises why not try ‘Cova d'en Xoroi’ the only night club built into the cliff face, it makes a fantastic setting! The caves are also open during the day for coffee and spectacular views of the ocean.

Cala'n Porter has a number of well stocked supermarkets which cater for all essentials, but for those wishing to stock up for the week we would recommend visiting one of the larger 'cheaper' supermarkets (Binipreu, Lidl, Euroski etc) which can be found on the road between the airport and Mahon (approx 10 mins drive).

The easiest bank to find is La Caixa which is located at the top of the road which leads down to the beach, the indoor ATM machine is available to late evening. Beware though, if you require the assistance of a bank clerk, banks close between 1.30pm & 2pm daily in Menorca!

For those not familiar with Menorca the average weather statistics are:-

May average: 25 degrees C with up to up to 10 hours sunshine per day.

June average: 27 degrees C with up to 11 hours sunshine per day.

July average: 29 degrees C with up to 11 hours sunshine per day.

August average: 29 degrees C with up to 11 hours sunshine per day.

September average: 26 degrees C with up to 9 hours sunshine per day.

October average: 22 degrees C with up to 8 hours sunshine per day.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Casa Juan is a none smoking property and we request that our guests refrain from smoking within the villa. In order to save you buying/bringing with you various consumables such as fairy liquid etc at the start of the season we provide within the villa a selection of these to assist with those little stains and spillages, and the washing of crockery etc. Please use these as required but in the event that one of them runs out during your stay we would appreciate it if you could replace it for the next guests to use. Outside: Externally the south facing lawn, two patio areas and a BBQ. The private pool (8m by 4m on plan, 0.9m to 1.8m deep) catches the sun from early morning to late evening. There are two mature palm trees that provide some welcoming shade during those hot sunny days; externally there is ample space for sunbathing, eating and general outdoor fun. The pool and garden are serviced twice weekly to ensure both are maintained in tip top condition. The villa has it's own gated drive for off road parking. The external furniture consists of sun beds, a garden table and chairs, parasol and BBQ. Utility Room: The washing machine is located in the external utility cupboard adjacent to the washing line at the rear of the property. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels & bed linen are included, two week stays include a linen & towel change free of charge at the end of the first week. An interim clean and/or mid week towel change are available for supplements of £60.00 each & £10/person/per week repectively.
