Recently renovated 5 Star Gold rated Victorian Rectory sleeping 12 people in the ultimate luxury and style. The Old Rectory is a stunning 19th century residence packed with original features which make this property so beautiful and special; high ceilings, stone casement windows, wood panelled window bays, Victorian tiled fireplaces and leaded feature windows. All teamed with the latest modern facilities making it the ultimate luxury holiday property. The property sleeps up to twelve people in six bedrooms. Four luxury bathrooms fitted with Hansgrohe power showers. A 42ft kitchen diner, orangerie and two beautiful lounges each with wood burning stoves. Set in an acre of walled gardens with formal Victorian beds and an orchard to the back of the property and a large lawn area to the front of the house.

About the Owner

After 14 years in London working in the buying offices of Mothercare and Boden clothing retail just wasn’t as exciting as it used to be. So my husband Matt & I bought and renovated an old thatched Manor House in Devon and ran it as a successful 5 star holiday cottage for several years. Inevitably the Devon lifestyle became too much to resist so we moved down into The Manor House in 2010, bought the obligatory black labrador, and settled into country life.

Needing a new project we found Hill Farm and decided to set it up as another holiday let. Six months of renovations later and we're really proud of Hill Farm and we hope you love it too.

The house is in a great location, only 5 minutes from the sea, halfway between the beautiful Lyme Regis & Sidmouth. We're only a stones throw from Beer and Branscombe too so there's plenty to see and do all within a 15 minute drive. We're a 3 hour drive, or a 2 hour 40minutes train ride from London which makes us a perfect getaway even for a long weekend.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is a 5 minute drive away at Seaton. The beautiful pebbly beaches of Beer, Sidmouth & Lyme Regis are all within a 20 minute drive. The nearest sandy beach is 20miles away at Exmouth.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Exeter which is about 50 minute drive away. The nearest train station is Axminster which is on the main London Waterloo line, Axminster is a 10 minute drive away.

Distances:

Axminster 6 miles, Lyme Regis 6 miles, Sidmouth 10 miles, Exeter 29 miles.

Further Details:

There are a wealth of things to see and do in the beautiful countryside around The Old Rectory. Colyford has two pubs, The White Hart and The Wheelwright, a post office, general store, a superb local butcher.

We are 2.5 miles from the coastal town of Seaton which is the gateway to the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and 3 miles from the charming fishing village of Beer.

There are many beautiful walks in the area including The East Devon Way and the South West Coastal Path. You can also hire bikes in Colyton and cycle through the beautiful East Devon countryside on several beautiful cycle routes.

  • Outside: The Old Rectory is set in just under an acre of gardens, a large lawn area at the front of the property and formal Victorian gardens and orchard at the back. There is also a large patio area leading off the orangerie overlooking the front lawn. The property has its own gated gravelled driveway and parking for at least ten cars. Utility Room: Washer/dryer Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Christy towels and crisp white cotton bedlinen are included in the rental cost.
