Colislinn is a unique house full of character, particularly suited to families with young children. 3 public rooms and a games room with table tennis and table football provide space for all ages. Furnishings are simple but comfortable. The house has a wonderful woodland garden with paddocks and south-facing lawns. Hardwood tables, benches and chairs, BBQ, trampoline, croquet, badminton and a large paddling pool (summer only) are provided for outdoor activities. The Slitrig Water runs through the grounds. The surrounding hills offer miles of undisturbed walking/cycling/riding opportunities. Fishing is available in the Tweed, Teviot and Border Esk but also fishing lochs at 5 mins drive. There is a myriad of Golf courses available within an hour's distance. A perfect base from which to explore the Borders, Edinburgh and the Northumberland Coast.

“We saw Colislinn for the first time on a bright morning in February. The sides of the drive were covered in snowdrops and the river along it sparkling in the sunlight. By the time we turned the corner and saw the house, we realised it would be the most wonderful place to bring our families together. We have been coming here for 22 years with our kids and enjoyed the clean air, the quiet and freedom of life in the country side. It's a magical place for children to be outside, play games, and an opportunity for adults to relax and to really get away from the pressures of modern living. Some of our best and fondest memories come from being there.”

Colislinn is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing, golf and taking it easy! There are many places of interest, historic houses, gardens and borders towns to visit.
The beautiful and unspoilt East Coast Northumberland beaches are around 1-1.5 hours drive away: North-Berwick, Bamburgh, Alnmouth, Holy Island, Seahouses etc, etc
Colislinn is easiest reached by car: Edinburgh 1.5hr; Carlisle 1,5hr; Kelso, Selkirk, Melrose around 30 min.
Train stations Carlisle, Newcastle and Berick on Tweed 1.5hr by car.
Airports: Edinburgh and Newcastle, also 1.5hr by car.
Regular half-hourly bus between Hawick and the centre of Edinburgh takes 2 hours

Remainder and (returnable) damage deposit of £400 are due 4 weeks before booking. Short breaks and weekends available at 75% of weekly price (not during June, July, August or Christmas/New Year). Changeover day flexible but Saturdays preferred. Arrival 4pm, departure 10am but times can be flexible if available.
Notes on prices:
The price for a weekend or short break of up to 4 days is 75% of the weekly price. June, July, August, Christmas and New Year minimum rental 7 days.
Electricity, logs and oil will be charged extra at cost.
Damage/breakage deposit of £400 is payable with the balance of rent and will be returned as appropriate shortly after departure.
Well-behaved pets very welcome.
Regrettably Colislinn is not suitable for stag, hen and student parties.
