I stayed at Jose's property 13-22 March 2016 and had a lovely time. Jose gave all the information I needed (the plan was great as I was worried where I may be dropped off as I was using an airport shuttle service, Greenbus, but it wasn't actually needed as the service was unexpectedly door-to-door, so I would definitely recommend them). Diana arrived at the property in supersonic time (thank you) and ran through everything I needed. The property is beautiful and everything I hoped. It was well equipped and beautifully decorated - the most relaxing accommodation. I loved the roof terrace and would be found up there shivering on occasion - it was probably my favourite place. It was so close to restaurants and cafes yet still did not have passing traffic (road or people). I just cannot be critical of the property in any way - it was delightful. Tavira is a lovely resort. So peaceful to wander alongside the river and stopping to eat or drink in such lovely surroundings. I would be more than happy to stay here again :)

Lovely home in great location

The house was tucked away but right in the centre of the beautiful town of Tavira. It was a traditional character house but with a very modern and well equipped interior, with some lovely homely touches and everything we needed for our stay. Shame there was no allocated parking and you just had to be lucky to get the spot outside but other than that, it was perfect. We loved it and will definitely book it again.. Thank you Jose.

A lovely and ideally situated townhouse

We spend 8 lovely days in this ideally situated and attractively decorated townhouse in Tavira. One of the advantages is its location in the center; although located in the center of Tavira, it is off the main street such that, once inside the house, one is not bothered with street noises such as from cars negotiating the cobblestones on the Rua da Liberda. The roof terras is ideal for breakfast in the sun although you quickly can do with the parasol provided. In summer the terras must be ideal for spending the evening enjoying a glass of Vino Verde, however late April, evenings were still too chilly.

Parking in the area is free and we could normally park our rental right in front of the house or in close vicinity.

The house comes with all the amenities needed to enjoy our stay, including bed linen, towels, satellite TV and modern high speed internet access. There are quite some very affordable restaurants on walking distance so we only cooked dinner twice during our stay!

When we had questions, the care taker promptly replied.

In short: highly recommended for those who wish to spend holidays in the Tavira region.

Perfect - Five Stars

The position of the Townhouse is perfect - the setting is quiet and peaceful. The quality of furnishings is very good; comfortable beds and furniture. The outside patios, especially the patio that is on the roof, which can be accessed via the spiral staircase, is a place you can relax and catch the sun whilst having a glass of wine or beer. The kitchen has everything you need not that we used it much as we ate out at the numerous very good restaurants that are within walking distance. Numerous supermarkets and bakeries are nearby - everything you need on your doorstep. Whether you are a family or a couple this is the place to stay in Tavira. Booking the apartment via Jose' the owner was as simple as you can get. Would certainly stay here again when next in the beautiful town of Tavira. Thank you Jose' - Angela, John & Elysia xxx

My family love Tavira. For some time we have spent holidays and weekends in Tavira. In 2004, we bought a little private home just in the centre of Tavira near the Gilao river, the bridges (the "Veneza" of Algarve), the churches, the beaches, the mountain, etc.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Faro at 40 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : at 300 Metres Car: not necessary


7/8 minutes walking to the boat dock (and 10 minutes to the Tavira Island beach). Many other beaches near Tavira.


About 40 Km from Faro Airport. The use of car is not essential.

Further Details:

The river (Gilao), the Roman Bridge (the Venice of Algarve), the churches (oriental touch), the beaches, the mountain, etc. Convenience of the property and centrality (just to go to Spain/Sevilla).

Others: Hiking, Birdwatching, Riding, Arts, Cultural events and Gastronomy.

Facilities: ATMs, medical services, library, etc.

Free internet access, foreign newspapers and cafe in the local library.
