Downstairs there is a spacious and well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave etc which leads on to an open and airy living room with tv and comfortable chairs for relaxing.

The first floor has a lovely master bedroom and a larger than average family sized bathroom.

The second floor has two pretty twin bedded rooms with matching bedding.

The gites are part of a Longere, this has been renovated into 2 gites and a home. Having been renovated fully whilst still maintaining some original features, but bringing it up to modern standards including free wifi. The longere nestles peacefully in a pretty hamlet perfectly located to enjoy all the surrounding tourist attractions in the area. The busy town of Jugon les lacs has everything you need to enjoy your holiday from lovely restaurants to water sports and a local swimming pool with outside and inside activities to please everyone. About m.d. ewbank

The gites are run by Mark, Carol and Dan. Mark is a artisan mason and works mostly in France. Carol is a teaching assistant in England but spends most of her holidays helping to run the gites and advising on all the feminine touches. Dan, Mark's son helps with maintenance when he is not working in England. We are all English born but enjoy spending time in both countries and enjoying both cultures, not to mention the wine, the weather and our vegetable patch from which you might be luck enough to receive some produce!

Why m.d. ewbank chose Mégrit

We love the area, the good weather, the rural location and with local amenities close to hand it makes a perfect place to visit. The beaches in Brittany are very beautiful and only half an hours drive from us, our favourite being St Cast with its gorgeous white sandy beaches and fabulous places to eat. Jugon le lacs a few minutes drive away and offers activities including swimming, sailing, fishing, cycling and crazy golf. You can also enjoy many places of interest such as the medieval town of Dinan only twenty minutes away, it has something for everyone including a market, unique shops and the river Rance with boats and an abundance of restaurants and bars. The airport at Dinard is thirty minutes from the house and the ferry at St Malo is forty minutes away making it a perfect location.

What makes this cottage unique

We are always available for advice, recommendations and of course just a friendly chat. The Longere is nestled in a quiet picturesque spot with lots of country walks round and about to enjoy nature. We often have visitors in our garden including deer, woodpeckers, blue tits and many more. If this sounds like your ideal holiday come and have a great time and create great memories.

La Charrue Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed out stay very much at this clean and well equipped cottage. It is in a pretty and quiet location with a large secure garden. Plenty of places to sit and relax, and swings etc for children. We found lots of places to visit within easy travelling distance: Dinan, St Malo, Mont St Michel to name but a few. Many good eating places to be found in Dinan which is only about 10 miles away. Mark and Carol were excellent hosts.

Great holiday in a lovely well equipped gite

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic holiday at La Charrue. Mark the owner and his partner Carol were brilliant, meeting us after a tiresome journey and guiding us to the gite and going out of their way in helping us with car problems whilst we were there. They had also supplied us with supplies of homegrown veg and shopping so we could put a meal together that first evening. They also welcomed us to have a glass of wine and nibbles with them on two evenings which was unexpected and lovely.

The gite is well equipped and in lovely surroundings. It was very clean and the beds were comfy so we all slept really well and found it hard to get up in the mornings. The kids enjoyed the gardens and Go Kart and also the Wifi!

We had great weather, the beaches are not too far away and have beautiful sand and clean sea. We really enjoyed visiting the local towns, particularly Dinan, and villages especially on market days.

Thank you so much we really enjoyed ourselves and hope to return sometime maybe with friends and use both gites.

Megrit 2016

  • 5 of 5

Lovely location and very peaceful. The Gite was very well equipped to make it a true home from home, as well as being clean and welcoming. The welcome pack was wonderful and helped to make us very welcome at the end of a long day travelling. Everything to keep older teenage children happy. Mark and Carol were very welcoming and excellent hosts. Thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay.

Lovely location and Gite would highly recommend

  • 5 of 5

We had a two week stay in Bouchet Gite in August 2015 with two children under the age of 9 and had a fantastic stay! We were welcomed by Mark and Carol who are a lovely couple very helpful and friendly. The Gite is in a beautiful rural setting, shops a few miles away. Our children were very safe and it was very relaxing. The Gite was very clean and had all the facilities anyone would need and more! We were very sad to leave and would definitely return there and recommend to friends and family. Don't hesitate to book here!

Thank you

Great spot in a lovely area

  • 5 of 5

Super Gite. The family has made a very comfortable place to stay, quiet and peaceful, in a very rural area, yet within easy driving distance from wonderful coastline and ancient towns. Mark was always available with help and advice, and the week went too quickly. A shady garden provides a welcome relief when it's hot and there's a BBQ big enough for a family. There are shops and a small supermarche 10 mins drive away. The coast is rugged and worth taking time exploring but there are also beautiful beaches for lazy days. Mont St Michel is within a day's trip. Couldn't have asked for more so highly recommended.

Megrit Gite

  • 4 of 5

We had a brilliant time, Mark and Carol made us very welcome and the Gites were clean and tidy. As there was a wide range of ages in our group, the layout of the gites allowed us to spread ourselves and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet if we needed it. The setting also suited us as the younger members had plenty of quiet country lanes to cycle or jog in. Short car journeys took us to many of the lovely villages and towns in the area and as we were so lucky with the weather we even spent 3 days on various beaches. I honestly can't think of any down sides to our stay, would I recommend this property? Oh yes!! Value for money was very good and if there was anything we needed Mark was always on hand with either friendly advice on where to get it or he provided it himself. If it's a bit of quiet French countryside that you are after then this property is definitely a good bet.

So far as activities and attractions are concerned as I said they are all a short car ride away, half an hour gets you either on a glorious sandy quiet beach or into St.Malo or by the lake at Jugon les Lacs, too many good restaurants to mention any one in particular, but we really enjoyed the one on the beach at St. Cast-le-Guildo. Plenty of shopping opportunities around including Hyper markets(Plancoet) or traditional markets (Dinan, thursdays)

The gite was exactly what we expected and gave us the perfect base for our holiday, contact Mark and have yourselves a lovely relaxed break!!
