About the owners:

We are a Swiss/Austrian couple running a small hotel in the Swiss mountains.

The two-season business allows us to use our apartment in Spain mainly during May and November. For the rest of the year, we are happy to rent it out for short or long term.

Our apartment is right at the top of the Mojon Hill Phase 4 development, with a fantastic panoramic view over the sea, Isla Plana, and Puerto Mazarron.

Why Andrea and Konrad Mueller chose Cartagena

We have always be looking for a place on the sea with great views.

Isla Plana is our ideal location, based in a small village, but close to all the infrastructure you might want to use.

What makes this apartment unique

We very much enjoy the quiet area (depending on seasons of course), to sit on the terrace with a nice glass (or bottle) of wine to view the beautiful sunset.

Nice little restaurants nearby with very good food at reasonable prices.

A beach for every taste, from wide and long to small and hidden.

Nice area for hiking as well.

Looking forward to the Paramount park being (hopefully) opened sometime.

Notes on accommodation: Private underground parking for 2 cars. A fee of EURO 50 is payable to our local agent on departure for cleaning. Smoking is not allowed in the apartment, but you may smoke on the terrace. Outside: The apartment complex includes a large public area, with 2 swimming pools. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment will be cleaned before your arrival. Towels and linen are provided, but not beach towels. Other: The terrace is equipped with a table and 4 chairs, and 2 sun beds. In addition, there is a high class charcoil grill ready for use.

Spectacular views from a glass fronted balcony, uncomfortable furniture and lots of steps.

Apartment is at the very top of Mojon Hills, so the views are as far as Mojacar. Apartment is adequately equipped and spacious. It also has internet TV which is a bonus. The main attraction is the spacious balcony and you can spend all day here admiring the stunning view across the bay. The downside to this hillside position are the many steps from the parking facilities. Not recommended for the unfit/disabled and those carrying large suitcases. The furniture in the apartment is a little basic and the double bed is very uncomfortable. An upgraded mattress that doesn't sag in the middle would result in a better night sleep. Best place to eat is Mazarron Port where there is an array of good restaurants serving 3/4 course meals for 12 euros or less. Avoid the first 'pop up' tourist restaurants on the promenade and head straight to the small harbour. The best food is Le Carousel, the best value is Viggos. There are others in Isla Plana and La Azohia but they are generally overpriced, except Villamares and Casa del Nono which are pricey but serve great food. The social club in Isla Plana is also worth a visit for tapas, beer and good views. Overall we love Isla Plana and would definitely return to this apartment, possibly for longer, if we could get the same nightly rate

Lovely Christmas break

The apartment was equipped with everything we needed for our 2 week stay, beautiful outlook from the balcony, we had breakfast outside every morning with beautiful views. Definitely going back again for some winter road riding. Our return ferry from Bilbao was cancelled but Konrad fitted us in for an extra 3 days. Internet connection was brilliant, TV english channels worked well.

Fijne vakantie door Penthouse

Fijn appartement voldoende uitgerust met een mooi uitzicht en een ruim balkon. Veel privacy doordat in deze periode veel leeg staat. Van Parkeerplaats naar Penthouse is behoorlijk wat trappen lopen maar als je sportief bent is dat ook een voordeel. Voor herhaling vatbaar. Een eigen auto is wel noodzakelijk.

Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

The apartment is 500m from the ocean/beach.

A number of beaches are easily reached within minutes.

There are several beaches and coves within walking distance, with the most popular being the Isla Plana Main Beach with shallow waters.

Travel:

Depending where you come from, there are 2 airports:

Murcia (San Javier), with Mojon Hills about 40 minutes away. Cheap flight airlines include Easy Jet, Jet 2, Ryan Air.

Alicante airport is about 1 h 30 drive. Again Easy Jet, Ryan Air, Jet 2, and others serving this airport.

Car rentals available, and airport transfers can be arranged on request.

A new Murcia airport is being built and hopefully opened later this year or 2013.

Distances:

About 5km to Puerto de Mazarron, 25km from Cartagena

Further Details:

Isla Plana is a very nice village with several bars and restaurants, a bank, pharmacy, and a number of smaller shops. If you need more choice, Puerto de Mazarron has several supermarkets and on every Sunday morning there is a large open air market. A clinic is also in town.
