a little disappointed

  • 1 of 5

Although the cave house was lovely and clean we were disappointed with the overall feeling of coldness and damp. Also, whilst were realised that it was not the owners fault, we were surrounded by builders renovating various properties waking us up at 7am sharp and so not quite the tranquil stay we had envisaged! We did, however, love the village location and helpful staff at the Athermi Hotel. The local tavernas were worth a visit but we eventually decided to up sticks and move to a beautiful spot in Imorivigli. We would not recommend this accommodation-sorry!

a wonderful experience!

  • 5 of 5

I've been in this house in August and it has been a perfect holiday! It was a typical greek-style house, with spotless white and blue walls and windows, just in the heart of Megalochori village. You get to the house by a 5 minutes walk inside the beautiful small streets of the village with some very good restaurants nearby. The location is perfect also because we were close to Fira, the main city, just 10 minutes by car and it was nice to come back home in a quiet place after a long day in other places much more crowded. If I am to come back to Santorini, I'll probably book for this house again.

Charming!

  • 5 of 5

No need to talk about the island: it's gorgeous. But we do want to know about the accomodation! This traditional cave house is just what you need, it's cosy, decorated with a fresh and yet traditional style, extremely well kept and well equipped (w. machine, dishwasher, etc.) and hey! It's a cave house, a traditional house in the Greek islands. It's located in the Megalochori ancient village, which really is a lovely place to be. It's also close to everything else, not to talk about the stunning sunsets on the caldera.

A definite thumbs up!

A charming place

  • 4 of 5

We would recommend this traditional cave house to you for your Santorini holiday. It is quiet here, and offers a place far away from the hassles of everyday life. The winding lanes lead to the village of Megalochori where locals will welcome you into their community. There is a winery nearby. The owner is friendly, and gave us information about the surrounding area, good restaurants to eat where we could catch up with family and friends on internet . Beyond the blue doors, the house is white and spotless, and decorated with style. It provides all you need for a happy holiday, including a washing machine and dishwasher. You will fall in love with this beautiful house as we have, and will want to return one day.
