House in Monflanquin, Nr. Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Lot et Garonne, Aquitaine, France
We first visited this area three years ago. It was our honeymoon. We had both been to many other areas of France but well… there was just something special here. So much so, that we decided to look at properties. House after house disappeared from our list of possible contenders until we, one Saturday morning, drove into the medieval Bastide, Monflanquin. “Here,` we both echoed. `This is the place. Here, Here, Here.` We put in a bid for a small village house and the purchase was made final in November 2010.

Guestbook comments from the owner
"Just wanted to thank you for renting us your house in Monflanquin, we had a fantastic time. The house was just the best in the whole village, the house was perfectly located in the beautiful village, the bikes we found very useful for cycling in the surrounding countryside. I have already recommended it to my work colleagues and family and hope to return there next summer. Once again, many thanks. Regards Chris Bell, London Branch Manager, GB liners Ltd."

Beautiful house in a lovely village
House was perfect for us and was clean and tidy. Village is ancient and interesting. All communication with owners was straightforward and they were easy to deal with. A great holiday.
From the Owner
“It's such a picturesque, unspoiled part of France. One lush field after the other growing crops or wine. Farmers are selling their products from their doorsteps or in the many local markets. Try the local foie gras, wine or the many types of fruit. Pick your own walnuts and hazelnuts in autumn or buy from a great selection of local products the rest of the year. Monflanquin has so much history. Not only will you stay in a Medieval Bastide, which holds a prestigious Medieval festival every August but you will also find yourself sleeping in a renovated village house dating back to the 15th century. Monflanquin has it's own Medieval guards who look after its people throughout the whole summer. So rest assured, You'll be safe!”

From the Owner
“Walk straight from the combined kitchen and living room area on to "Rue de la paix". Either enjoy sitting right outside the house with your coffee, a chilled glass of wine or go to one of the village's cafes or restaurants only two minutes away. Monflanquin entails a long and great history as so do the many castles and villages surrounding it. Thursday is market day in our village square all year round. Enjoy the sounds of and calmness in a real French village.”
