Bungalow at Brambles Chine, Freshwater, Isle of Wight, England - Great Views Of Colwell Bay And The Needles, Just A Few Minutes Walk From Beach

This chalet sleeps 5 people in two bedrooms plus sofa bed in lounge. It comprises an open plan lounge with dining area and kitchenette. Positioned on the cliff top close to the beach and Isle of Wight coastal path and with direct views of Colwell Bay and the Needles. The chalet was refurbished in 2012 and now has a new kitchen for 2015 to include a dishwasher. Situated on a 40 acre communal site other available facilities include launderette, crazy golf, pitch and putt, tennis court, play park and football pitch.

"PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

We, the home owners, can process the booking but we want to let you know the following before you decide on which payment method to make:

Owners Direct have chosen to add a "service fee" when you choose the option to "Request to Book", as opposed to simply enquiring via the "Enquire now" button, which is not displayed as obviously as the "Request to Book" button.

This "service fee" is justified by them because they claim it allows them to offer you more financial security when booking in this way.

Unfortunately, Owners Direct now leaves it to their clients (us home owners) to divulge this unfair (in my opinion) charging procedure to holidaymakers.

So effectively, if you process the booking via "Request to book", rather than via "Enquire now", wishing to pay me via bank transfer, this could cost you more.

We have been renting this bungalow since 2011 and been handling payments by cheque and by bank transfer without a single complaint or problem about payment security.

So, if you pay us by bank transfer rather than via Owners Direct’s “Request to Book”, it will be cheaper for you.

We feel obliged to mention this to you, since Owners Direct don't.

We're sorry about this but you will find what owners like ourselves think of Owners Direct now by reading the comments on TrustPilot.

So, we suggest you use "Enquire now" rather than "Request to Book".

Like other owners we will be leaving Owners Direct once our current subscription ends.

There used to be a clue in the name "Owners Direct", but since being taken over by HomeAway and then Expedia, things have changed - for the worse, in our opinion, and that of many, if not all, small owners."

A great place to stay and revisit!

We loved this location so much last August that we had to stay again this Easter. The bungalow has a lovely view to the Needles, which is a great way to enjoy breakfast every morning before exploring the beautiful coastline and the scenic walks. The owner provides lots of little extras that make this feel like a home from home to us. My two boys want to return and so we shall. Recommended.

Fantastic Chalet with stunning views!

We have just returned from a glorious week at Brambles Chine, it was my first visit to IOW since I was a child and my husband's and daughter's first visit and we weren't disappointed! The chalet was perfectly situated on the site with a lovely view of Colwell Bay, it was so peaceful and relaxing, with lots of grass out the front for our 6 year old to run around on safely. The chalet was spotlessly clean and really well equipped to make a pleasant stay away from home. A short 2 minute stroll lead us down to the lovely bay and when we were feeling more adventurous we took the open top bus to Yarmouth and then on Alum Bay and the Needles which was great fun! The island is beautiful and we hope to come back and stay at Brambles Chine again next year!

fab holiday

Me and my daughter had a lovely holiday. The views from the chalet are beautiful and it is so close to the beach which was fantastic. The chalet was clean and spacious. There is plenty of space on site for the children to play and we loved playing the crazy golf. We can't wait to go and stay again.

A great place for a family holiday!

As a family of five (2 children, parents + grandparent) this was our first visit to the Isle of Wight & I have to start by saying we had a fantastic time! We arrived at the accommodation to find it thoroughly well equipped & spotlessly clean. The stunning views combined with the very close proximity to a very quiet beach made it the perfect location to spend a family holiday. At the front of the holiday home is an large area of well maintained grass for the kids to play on which is isolated from any roads. It's only a 60 second walk down the path to the beach and we had a dip in the clear waters every day. Inside we had a very well equipped kitchen, a spotless bathroom, two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living area. Everything was very new & in case you are wondering there is a TV, DVD player & even an Ipod dock. We had a car & on the days we didn't drive we went on some lovely walks from the holiday home through the woods or along the sea front. In summary, we found it the perfect place for a family holiday in terms of location & the high quality of the accommodation. In fact we've booked for a return trip this year!

A wonderful stay.

Bright, cheerful, comfortable, welcoming, clean, tidy, every need catered for, amazing view is the only way to describe this chalet. Myself, my daughter and my 5 year old grand daughter spent a lovely week here in the summer of 2012. It was so handy having a nice beach just below the chalet that we could easily walk to every day. It was useful having the crazy golf on site so that we could get a game in most days as well. We found the little shop on site very useful for basic items when we ran out. There is a supermarket quite close to the chalet, just a short distance along the main road, where we would stop on the way home, after a day out, to buy what we needed. There was also plenty to occupy my grand daughter in the chalet by way of games and use of TV before we went out in the mornings. The chalet is situated in an ideal location for touring and visiting other places in the island. In the evenings we could enjoy a barbecue with a glass of wine watching the sun go down over the bay. We shall be back!

As a family we have been coming to Brambles Chine renting another chalet since our eldest was a baby. We were lucky enough to have the chance to become owners of 224 in 2011. We now look forward to continuing our love affair with Brambles Chine and the Isle of Wight as we get older. With grown up children and more time to ourselves we will hopefully get the chance to relax on our own in our get-away.

Nearest Barpub : Colwell Bay (may not beaccesibale at high tide) at 500 Metres Nearest Ferry : Wightlink Lymington to Yarmouth at 2 Miles Nearest Golf : Freshwater Bay at 3 Miles Nearest Train : Lymington Pier (Ferry terminal) at 5 Miles Nearest Motorway : M27 at 20 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Colwell Bay (may not beaccesibale at high tide) at 500 Metres Nearest Beach : Colwell Bay at 100 Metres

Coast/Beach:

It is just a few minutes walk to the beach, which has sandy areas and also many rock pools at low tide where you can catch crabs! There are a few shops, cafes, and a bar available along the beach at Colwell bay. Colwell bay is suitable for jet skiing, boating, wind surfing if you have your own equipment.

Windsurfing, kite surfing, jet ski and boat hire facilities can be found at Freshwater bay, which is a few minutes drive away.

Travel:

Approx 3 miles from Wightlink Yarmouth ferry terminal, with bus stops at the end of the site access road, taxis are also available. As a foot passenger, Yarmouth is a 45 minute walk along the IOW coastal path. Red Funnel ferries are available at Cowes, approx 30 minutes drive.

Distances:

Freshwater town with a comprehensive range of shops, pubs, banks, restaurants and a swimming pool/leisure centre is about a mile away. Fort Victoria Country Park is a 20 minute walk along the coastal path, or a 5 minute drive along the Yarmouth Road.

Further Details:

Situated almost directly next to the Isle of Wight coastal path, and near to the Island cycling routes.

The owners are a non-smoking family and therefore request that guests respect this by not smoking.

We often stay at our bungalow and therefore it has everything that you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

No dogs or other pets are allowed.

From the Owner

We have one of the best views on the site, directly across Colwell Bay to the Needles, and are also on the edge of the site, so not overlooked by other chalets. The chalet is South facing so has the sun pretty much all day. As we use the chalet regularly, we have equipped the chalet very much with our stay in mind, so have comfortable beds and all the other little bits and pieces to make it a home from home.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: There is heating throughout the bungalow. Please note that all electric and gas is include in the rental price. There are DVD's in the cupboard under the TV, including many children’s titles; in the sideboard there are IOW attractions brochures and board games, an IOW ordnance survey map plus a range of walking guides. There are also some golf clubs and balls for use on the Pitch and putt, crazy golf and putting green. Outside: Private patio area with picnic table, parasol and communal lawn areas. Rotary washing line at rear of property. Bikes can be padlocked to the large metal ring in the wall on the patio area. Fold up chairs and lounger for use outside and on the beach, beach toys, inflatable boat with oars, two body boards, a wind break and a portable kettle barbeque are to be found at the rear of the property in the outside storage container. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The chalet is cleaned prior to each let. Duvets, pillows and blankets are provided. Bed linen can be made available at £5 per person per week. Please bring your own towels. Tea towel and bath mat are provided.
