About the Owner

We are a family of four from Suffolk, with a teenage daughter and a student son. We have enjoyed many wonderful holidays in the villa with family, friends and sometimes just as a couple to get away from it all! The villa and its lovely mature pool garden are kept to a high standard ready for arrival at any time as we often make spur of the moment visits. We have great memories of BBQs and parties in and out of the villa which lends itself to a relaxed and fun time in the lovely Algarve sunshine. We like a holiday that covers all options from nightclubs in Lagos (student son), topping up a tan on the beach (teenage daughter) or simply relaxing with a book and glass of wine in the long afternoons around the pool (us).

From the Owner

We liked the sunshine of the Algarve, its beaches, restaurants and unspoilt surroundings. The villa sits alongside a national park and so development is controlled and will remain very limited. We chose this particular development because of the high standards of build and maintenance and its impeccable green credentials. Several friends had already bought on this development and so much of the uncertainty of buying a property abroad was eliminated. We would recommend it to anyone.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

The Western Algarve has an abundance of activities for holiday makers including surfing, sailing, para gliding, kite surfing (many surf schools available locally and all equipment can be hired). Bird watching is very popular in this part of Portugal. At appropriate times the newly opened motor race circuit at Monchique is fast becoming a popular draw.


The nearest sandy beach is Burgau which has an excellent beach bar and many other restaurants. This is 5 minutes drive away. The village of Salema is also close by (10 minutes drive) with excellent restaurants and bars serving locally caught fish. Many other beautiful and secluded beaches are a short drive away.


Faro Airport is 50 minutes drive away. All vehicle rental companies are represented there. Car hire is essential although airport transfers and taxis can be arranged.


Faro airport 50 minutes. Lagos 15 minutes. Sagres 20 minutes. Salema 15 minutes. Burgau 5 minutes. The nearest Supermarket is 10 minutes away near Salema and is very easy to find. For children, there are 2 water parks and Zoo Marine Ocean theme park near Lagos. Dolphin safaris and boat trips available from Lagos.

Enjoy the Western Algarve by visiting the nearby national park to see some of the most unspoilt countryside left in Europe. Day trips to the mountains nearby and the world famous resort of Monchique will enhance any stay. We use the villa as a base for enjoying the fishing villages of the Algarve, the consistently beautiful weather and local food and wine. A complete break whatever your inclinations!

From the Owner

The property has a revolutionary "cool house" design which makes it very cool in the summer and maintains a comfortable temperature at all times throughout the year. We use the pool extensively and have fond memories of drinks and BBQs on the patio. It is conveniently situated for local beaches, restaurants and shops while at the same time being quite private. Our garden is mature and creates a delightful place to retreat to - especially when it gets too hot!
