The villas is located in a beautiful area and has amazing views. very relaxing and tranquil but yet not too far from the busy beaches in Tore Del Mar and Nerja etc.

The Villa is well equipped and the owner is very professional and helpful. I had amazing time and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Villa El Carmen is - extremely well located, in the mountains and still close to the sea. - in perfect condition - fully equipped, since the former owners have been living there permanently and left everything. - offering perfect privacy, and still the British neighbours are just a footstep away

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

The setting of the villa, at the border of the Axarquia Natural reserve (which is open to the public) makes the place ideal for hiking, easy walking, animal spotting, botanical enquiries and even for mountaineering. The location of Canillas is also ideal for cultural visits to the historical cities of Gibraltar, Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla, Malaga, ...

The peace and quiet of the house, in the middle of the olive-trees and almond trees make it exceptional.


The house is at about a 20 minutes drive from the lovely beaches of Torre del Mar. The waterfront there offers a wide choice of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, ... It is a lovely walking area of more then 5 km. The beaches are said to be the best in Spain.

Just a little further are the beaches of Torrox, Nerja and on the other side the beaches close to the city centre of Malaga.


The easiest way to come to Casa El Carmen, is flying to Malaga. From the airport you can hire a car which will take you in 40 minutes to the lovely villa in finca style.


Canillas de Aceituno centre is 2 km. Here you can find everything you need (small supermarkets, bank, doctor, ...). For more elaborate shopping there is Velez-Malage at 10 km. The beaches of Torre del Mar are at 15 km. Malaga city centre is 40 km. Marbella is 70 km, Granada is 90 km, Antequira is 80 km, Cordoba is 140 km, Sevilla is 180 km, Gibraltar is 150 km. All of these major cities are very easily accessible via excellent highways.

In the house, all information about the things to do, see and experience are available. Everything can be organised from Canillas, which is an easy walk of 2 km on a good road.

The rest of the amount must be paid 4 weeks before arrival. A guarantee will be asked, and returned within the week after your stay. Bookings for a month or more, will have special prices.

Changeover Day:
Preferred change over day is Saturday, but this can be flexible, depending on other bookings. Flexibility is easier from October to March.
Arrival time is in the afternoon, departure time is 10 AM. If this would be a problem, please contact the owner.

  • Notes on accommodation: The house provides all accommodation you might need, since this house has been a permanent residence and nothing has been taken away. Outside: The plot is over 6000m².The terrace is about 500m². Here you will find a place in the sun or a place in the shadow, at any time of the day/year. This is the area where the private pool is, the outside kitchen with BBQ. The shadow terrace is connected to the house, and has a table for 6 to 8 peoples. The courtyard can be enclosed. The pagoda at the outskirts of the terrace is made for looking out over the Axarquia mountains. The sunsets here are amazing. The biggest part of the garden is the olive- and almond plant-age, on the hills of mount Maroma. Utility Room: The house provides all equipment you will need for a very luxurious stay. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and towels are available and are changed every 2 weeks. The house is cleaned every 2 weeks. The pool is cleaned at least once a week. Other: In the courtyard you will find an enclosed area an storage room for outside chairs, sofa-beds, terrace tables, etc.
