Less than 1/2 mile from Tweedbank station & The Borders Railway. Stables cottage is a stone built detached cottage on a single level with private parking, patio, garden furniture, bbq and gardens. It has an open plan kitchen and dining area adjoining the lounge with seating for 6. It has a wide range of all modern kitchen appliances including with fridge, hob, oven washing machine and dryer. The lounge features high quality leather sofas, solid oak flooring and a large modern digital tv and dvd. The lounge also has a good quality large sofa bed which is a available for the third person or any visitors. There is a small wash-room and wc just off the lounge. The master bed-room has a king sized bed and an en-suite bathroom with wc and shower. The cottage is fully centrally heated and double glazed. All main rooms feature beamed ceilings. Harleyburn Cottages are two splendid self-catering cottages located in a beautiful private garden setting in the picturesque town of Melrose and only around 1/2 a mile from Tweedbank station and The Borders Railway to Edinburgh. Stables Cottage is a one-bedroomed cottage sleeping up to 3 people. Saddlery Cottage is a two-bedroomed cottage accommodating parties from 2-5 people. Less than a 10 minute walk from the centre of Melrose, both cottages date from 1870, and have been superbly modernised and equipped to provide very high quality accommodation in a stunning garden location. Both cottages are built from local red sandstone and have delightful south-facing aspects with views over the gardens to open fields and the Eildon Hills beyond. The cottages have oak floors, beamed ceilings, central heating, double glazing and are furnished an equipped to a very high standard. Graded at STB Four Star.
My name is Claire Macdonald. I live at Harleyburn Coach House with my husband Donald and our youngest child Kirsty who is 16. Out two older boys have now left home and are studying at university. We also have a very friendly German Pointer called Zac. We have eight lovely free range hens that frequently come around the cottages. You are very welcome to feed them and help yourself to the delicious free range eggs they provide during your stay.

We bought Harleyburn Coach House and the Saddlery and Stables cottages back in 2000. We simply fell in love with the properties as soon as we saw them. They sit two acres of stunning private gardens very close to Melrose. The properties are made from very attractive local sandstone and have views over landscaped gardens to the beautiful Borders countryside and the Eildon Hills. We find the people very friendly in Melrose, the quality of life is second to none and if you feel the need for city attractions Edinburgh is very easily accessible from here.
The cottages enjoy very easy access to Melrose on foot or by car. Melrose is a splendid little town with a wide range of restaurants, pubs, cafes and attractions including a 10th century abbey. Guest at Harleyburn will enjoy a combination of staying in a historic traditional cottage which have been beautifully appointed and equipped to offer every modern comfort. The location is simply stunning and each cottage has its own private parking for up to two cars, private patios, garden furniture, bbq and full use of the two acres of private gardens to enjoy the Border air. The cottages are very close to excellent fishing on the river Tweed, are within 400 metres of Melrose golf course and have a wide range of excellent walks, horse riding and cycling routes all nearby.
Booking is secured with an initial 20% deposit with the balance payable four weeks before the scheduled arrival date.
Saturday is the normal changeover date but with some flexibility on this particularly out-with the High Season. Cottage available from 4:00 pm on the arrival day.

Prices quoted for the property includes all bed-linen, towels, heating and electricity. Cottage is always available for weekly rental with Saturday changeover date. Please enquiry for our weekly prices.
Lovely little cottage in nice surroundings. Has everything you need, is clean, modern and lovely and warm.
We were delighted by our stay. Our hosts were warm and welcoming. The garden was stunning and an extra treat. The property is well-maintained and beautiful. We enjoyed the comfort after hiking for five hours. The location and parking are easy. This is a great option and a very good value.
