Apartment 2 has 40m2, double height ceiling salon/kitchen/dining room on the second floor with covered terrace and wonderful views. This has been upgraded in October 2016 to include a new kitchen and extra furnishings. There are two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, one ensuite, on the ground floor sharing a terrace.
Two Luxury Apartments
Our home, Domaine des Chevaliers, is a small private country estate in the Var, 40 kms north of St Tropez in the wine lands. It is part of a beautiful medieval village that dates back to pre-Templar times.
It is the setting that gives this property its uniqueness. The views of the hills and forest give a sense of space, and the grounds and streams provide a clear link to nature. It is secluded without being isolated. The whole area offers spectacular scenery with vineyards, olive groves, and the world renowned Gorges du Verdon and Lac St Croix within a short distance. Airport, road and rail links are within a short distance.
We live in the main house. We have been successfully renting the guest cottage, which is 150 metres away, in the summer for more than six years.
This attractive, bright and airy second cottage of approximately 160 m2, with 116 m2 of terraces, is situated inside the electric gates to the property, providing privacy for both houses, security and easy car parking. It is currently arranged as two apartments. Built in 2007/8 with a traditional roof and insulated throughout, it features high ceilings and visible beams with lots of light and space.
The 2 luxury apartments - with 5 star ratings on Trip Advisor and Owners Direct - one of 68m2, with one bedroom, and a second of 92m2 with 2 bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms. Each unit has its own entrance and south facing terraces with furniture. The apartments have fitted kitchens, underfloor heating, air conditioning, stone floors, fast Wifi (10GB), satellite tv. The furnishings are modern and comfortable with beds, bathrooms and kitchens fitted to a high standard. White linen and towels are provided for beds and bathrooms, and pool towels. Basic household goods are supplied (includes loo rolls, soap, washing materials, condiments, olive oil, tea, coffee etc.)
The 11 metre heated salt pool is 150 metres from the guest cottage. It has gentle steps into the pool and an electric cover. It is open at all times. Easy access for the disabled. There are sunbeds and parasols. On the far side of the pool is a boule pitch.
The grounds (15 acres) provide lovely walks and are open to all guests. They are landscaped with many mature trees and shrubs. On two sides there are streams with a waterfall. The whole forms a very beautiful, tranquil and undisturbed setting, ideal for wildlife, and for gentle strolls and quiet contemplation.
We do like to talk to guests before they make a booking as we can then answer questions and discuss payment terms. We are happy to call you at a convenient time.
Normally we ask 50% on booking and the balance 6 weeks before. You can pay by cheque, bank transfer or via Pay Pal. We have a simple contract that protects both parties. We are happy to provide references if you require. We take a security deposit of £350 payable on arrival. It is refunded one week after departure.
Pets are especially welcome (except for large and untrained dogs!). We have a small friendly dog. We can also arrange dog sitting if you want to leave him/her, although all restaurants welcome dogs here. Dogs are welcome at the pool, preferably on a lead, but not in it!

About the Owner
We normally ask for payment by bank transfer, cheque or paypal 50% 0n booking and the balance 40 days before arrival. We have a simple contract which is operated under English law. The security deposit is due on arrival in cash and is refunded no later than one week after you leave.
Winter rentals - for 30 days or more rates negotiable. Please speak to Anne.
Changeover is normally Saturday in the summer. Arrival is 4pm and departure by 10am. This gives us time for the changeovers - but if there are no guests before or after you we are flexible. We ask for your travel plans and mobile for arrival.
Notes on prices:
Summer rentals (April-Oct) and short term winter rentals include electricity & wifi, cotton bedlinen & bathroom towels, changed by us with apartment cleaning, pool towels. Basic household goods are supplied (includes loo rolls, soap, washing materials, condiments, olive all, tea, coffee, sugar). This saves shopping and expense. Cleaner at E15/hour by arrangement. Long term stays in the winter at special rates. Please ask for quotes depending on length of stay. Pool is open 1 May and heated.

Beautiful, clean and spacious - and a great pool!
My wife, two boys and I had one of the best holidays ever staying in this lovely appartment! The pool is sensational and there is a feel of real quality throughout the accommodation - especially the lovely stone floors. And we were all made to feel extremely welcome throughout our stay. It was our first time in Provence as a family, and this is a wonderful area for children and adults. We never ran out of things to do - swimming in the lake, rivers and gorge, climbing, ropes courses, walking, wine tasting, rafting, the list goes on. Villecroze itself is a lovely little village with a number of good restaurants and an excellent baker. There are also many other beautiful villages within easy driving distance. And the pool at the appartment is just fabulous!
Lovely holiday accomodation
We were a family of 4, staying in apartment 2, in summer 2016. Really happy with the accommodation, split over 2 floors (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms). Fixtures and fittings are all modern and comfortable. Plenty of space. Small but well-equipped kitchen. (The only thing I lacked was a washing machine, however the owner is happy to let you use her own laundry room for no charge). The swimming pool and surrounding garden is stunning, like a 5-star hotel.
A quiet location, yet only 2km from Villecroze village and about 5-6 minutes drive from supermarkets. The area has plenty of places to explore, many beatiful towns and villages, and the breath-taking Lac St Croix about 45 minutes drive away.
The owner is very friendly and helpful, she lives in the grounds in her own house, and is on hand to answer queries.
I would very much recommend the house to friends as somewhere to stay for a peaceful break in beautiful grounds, in a lovely area of France.
Beautiful spacious apartment for 2
We were so pleased to find this property as when we first started looking for a property for two, we were disappointed by how poky and cramped some of them looked. This is absolutely not the case here. Lots of space, tasteful furnishings, a well equipped kitchen and a really comfortable bedroom. The aquamarine pool with its landscaped garden is a pleasure to use. And the pool is heated so it's easy to just get in and stay in.
The owner is friendly and welcoming and on hand to advise on places to go and restaurants and shops. We enjoyed visiting the local markets such as Salernes and Lorgues, trips down to the coast and the Verdon Gorge and to pretty villages such as nearby Villecroze and Tourtour.
We very much enjoyed our stay in the beautiful village of Villecroze. These immaculate and well-equipped apartments are set in spacious, tranquil grounds. The large heated pool is in a delightful setting and the boule court for fun exercise was a bonus. The owner was very friendly and helpful and we would certainly recommend a stay here.
A perfect stay!
A perfect place to explore all the beautiful villages around and an easy drive to the coast.
The apartment had everything we needed and the kitchen was fully equipped. We enjoyed shopping at the markets while we were exploring during the day and then coming back to prepare dinner at "home". (There is a great grill on the patio.) We relaxed on the patio each evening with a glass of wine and beautiful sunset.
With beautiful grounds and pool, staying "home" is a very relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

One to revisit!
We stayed 3 weeks in apartments 2 & 3 Combined - our first rental since selling our holiday house - and couldn’t have wished for a better place. The apartments were light, airy, very clean and well equipped including air conditioning for those really hot days; the same can be said of apartment 1 which we had a look at. The grounds are extensive and beautifully maintained and the owner could not have been more welcoming and helpful to us and our 2 dogs – a truly dog friendly rental! During the 3 weeks we were joined by a friend or family member here and there and all loved it and said they would be likely to rent the apartments themselves at some point. We were a little lazy during our stay and didn’t visit the area extensively, but there are many beautiful places to visit and many nice restaurants to choose from. Overall very much a place we would happily return to.
Activity and Interests
It is 1.25 hours drive to the beaches of St Tropez and surroundings. It is 30 minutes drive to the Gorges du Verdon where there are beaches, restaurants and many activities, from walking to canoeing etc.
Approx 1.15 minutes by car from Nice airport, 45 minutes from Toulon and 1.45 hours from Marseilles. TGV train stops at Les Arcs 25 minutes drive away, and at Aix-en-Provence, where cars can be hired. If renting a car please ask Anne for best experiences as at Nice airport the wait can be long in the season.
