Ambleside is in the heart of the English Lake District so there are many attractions in the local area.My dad worked at Windscale UKAE and used to drive through Ambleside on way up there from Warrington.When he retired he bought Lingmell as he loved the lakes and we decided to keep it in the family.

What makes this house unique

Ambleside is a 1 min. walk away yet this is a quiet private location. Amazing views from the wide balcony. Large detached house with gardens. Waterhead and Lake Windermere are 5 min. level walk away. Heated indoor pool with Jacuzzi adjacent/also tots pool.Having a heated swimming facility virtually next door is so convenient.

Beautiful property. Owner very helpful

You couldn't pick a better home. Property was exactly as described. Clean, large, well equipped, down stairs bathroom was stunning, garden was lovely and having wifi and sky tv was a real plus. Owner Garth could not have been more helpful. I would certainly recommend this property. We eat out for breakfast lunch and dinner enjoying many of the local pubs and restaurants. The log house does a great steak and lovely cocktails. With only a short walk to town there was no need to take the car. We are already planning our next trip for the summer.

Yorkshire visitors

A fabulous property in every way.

The elevated location overlooks the town of Ambleside, with its far reaching magnificent views over the surrounding hills.

This large house is modern and has a homely, welcoming feel as soon as you enter it. It was in an immaculately clean condition. the kitchen is very well equipped and attractive. There is a large sitting/dining room with a beautiful large balcony from which to enjoy the views. A lovely space for outdoor eating and drinking.

The master bedroom is huge with a very comfortable bed and lovely en suite, and shares the balcony.

A useful wc is on this floor with 2 more spacious bedrooms and a very stylish bathroom on the lower ground floor. These bedrooms look out onto the pretty garden.

Although the weather went from sunny to snowy, we really didn't care as we enjoyed spending time in the house. I loved reading my book in the sitting room and looking out over the landscape.

The other major plus with Lingmell is its location. Ambleside is a short walk away, where there is everything you need. Lots of small independent shops, pubs, restaurants etc. You are spoilt for choice with the outdoor clothing shops.

The house is also well placed to access glorious walks without using the car.

We had an excellent Thai meal at Doi Intanon, which is in the historic old market Hall, and is close to Lingmell. The White Lion is also lively and buzzy with very reasonable food.

Our favourite pub was the Golden Rule. A typical cosy lakeland pub with a great fire and good beers.

Although we very much enjoyed eating out, it was also great to make use of the excellent cooking facilities back at the house.

We would go back to Lingmell anytime. It's home from home, only nicer!

Love Lingmell

Had a fantastic stay here in this lovely property. It was cosy and homely but fitted 5 adults and 2 babies easily without feeling crowded. The balcony and views were so nice, as was the garden. The kitchen was so well kitted out as was the utility room. The walk into town was only a couple of minutes. There was a travel cot and high chair provided. The pool was nice and clean. I really hope we get to come back here some time. Thankyou.

Lovely house with beautiful views

Very clean and comfortable house with beautiful views. Just a few minutes walk to shops, cafes, restaurants and lake. Plenty of walks from the door, no need to use the car. The use of the pool 2 minutes up the road is a real plus. We have stayed in this house many times and would definitely recommend it. Superb base for a lakeland holiday!

Outstanding

Our family have been staying at Lingmell for 10 years - sometimes Summer, sometimes Easter but one thing is always the same - it is great. Warm when it's cold, great facilities that always work, spotlessly clean, all the Sky channels for rainy days.......and the pool is wonderful. literally minutes walk into town and the views are stunning! The owner has always been exceptionally helpful whenever we've needed advice. We look forward to the next time from the minute we leave. Recommended 100% Five Star (I'm not the owner by the way)

Excellent Accomodation

Situated within easy access of Ambleside amenities the property provided us with a comfortable place to stay. Fully equipped and very clean through out with excellent views of the surrounding area.

The use of the pool at the very close Lakelands Leisure centre was great and we found the pool almost empty every time we went.

The property has plenty of space for the 6 of us who stayed, wi-fi meant the children were happy as well.

Took me a few goes to get the car down the steep driveway, but after a couple of tries the rest of the week was no problem.

My elderly parents 83 and 77 were with us and did find getting down and up from the town difficult either via the steps or the slope.

All in all we had a fantastic week at the property and it was a great base to visit places around the Lake District.

One warning though, we found it very difficult to get a table in many of the restaurants and pubs in Ambelside, the Queens Head was good though and also enjoyed a meal in the Spice of Bengal.

Our changeover day is SATURDAY we rent lingmell on a weekly basis.FLEXIBLE SHORT BREAKS -Weekend /or Mid week are ONLY available in NOV/DEC/JAN/FEB/MARCH -but not in school holiday weeks.
Secure the property with a £100 deposit this is refunded at the end of the holiday
provided the keys are returned and the property must be left in a reasonably clean and satisfactory condition

The listed price is ALL INCLUSIVE -you have unlimited use of the pool and jacuuzi at the adjacent lakeland complex /and tots pool!
There are no charges for gas /water /electric bedding towels or parking.
The cot and high chair are also include and also the onsite laundry -washer and separate dryer!




Payment in full 8 weeks before the holiday start date.

Changeover Day:
Saturday -arrive after 4pm and depart before 10am on day of departure.

Guests can arrive a little earlier and park at lingmell before 4pm.
