House in Bridge, Nr. Canterbury, Kent, England - Quiet Country Village Setting, Easy Access To Canterbury By Bus, Bicycle Or Car

This semi-detached house with garden and ample street parking is an ideal base for exploring Canterbury and the Kent area. Bridge is located at the edge of the Elham Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The house is 120 yards, on a level walk to the main village street, where there is a Post Office, Pharmacy, Grocery, Recreation Ground, & 3 Pubs (slipper distance). The house is available all year. In Canterbury there are many attractions including the Cathedral, New Marlowe Theatre, County Cricket Ground, swimming pool, leisure centre and popular shopping area. There is outlet shopping at Ashford (20 miles). The castles of Kent are all within easy visiting distance at Leeds, Dover, Rochester etc. Howletts Wild Life Park is just 3 miles away and the sandy beaches of the Thanet Coast (18 miles). The Channel Tunnel at Folkestone (16 miles) and Dover (15 miles) are within easy reach for a day trip to the Continent and there are Country Walks from the door in Bridge.

About Christina Turner

Tina lived in Bridge from 1952 and No. 13 has been in the family since it was built in the 1960's. We have spent many happy times there, together with family and friends. in the house, the village and surroundings. We would like others to enjoy it too and so have been renting the property out as a holiday let for 20 years. Although we all live away from Bridge now, the house is well cared for and

is prepared for our visitors by our great friends Ann and Michele.

What makes this house unique

The position is perfect for family holidays. There is a variety of entertainment available locally and in Canterbury for all the family with lots of opportunities to explore the village and further beyond.

The house is perfectly located for days out, dining, enjoying local real ales, walking along the many local footpaths, cycling and close to Canterbury by car, on foot or using the regular bus service. Set close to the village High Street of Bridge with a variety of shops, along with a large play area in the village recreation ground makes staying in the village a pleasure.

Notes on accommodation: The house is an ideal base for walks with many public footpaths in the surrounding area and maps and literature on walks available in the house. One dog welcome, you must inform the owner at the time of booking if you are bringing a dog. Children are welcome, there is not a cot available but there is room for one in the double bedroom. Back Garden is enclosed and has private patio with table, chairs and sun umbrella. Excellent views of the flower garden at rear of property. Utility Room: Side porch/boot room with large space to hang coats, rucsacs etc and to store footwear. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and tea towels included in price, towels are available at an extra £20 cost for a family of 4. Clean linen will be provided at the start of each let, a 2nd set is provided for stays of 2 weeks or longer. Beds will be made up for your arrival. Other: Conservatory with cane suite, sofa and 2 chairs and convector heater. Opens onto secluded patio and enclosed flower garden. Garden furniture: table + sun umbrella and 4 chairs

Teenage Family Holiday

We spent a fabulous week here in a much loved family home.

The house is fully equipped to manage 3 wifi dependent teenagers and husband. There was cupboards with toys and games for all ages that we took to the local pub to play whilst waiting for enjoyable meals.

We attended Sunday service at the Cathedral, went on a historical tour on the waterways. Lots of shopping( daughter). We visited Whitstable, Herne Bay, Margate and Ramsgate. All easy journeys. We met friends at Dover Castle, the rare breed farm at Ashford (plus the shopping outlet) and got back in time for tea. We also completed a beautiful 5 mile walk taking in Canterburys surrounding wheat fields and fruit farms.

The house is ideally situated, an easy 15 minute drive from Canterbury centre. A quiet Suberb, with the home overlooking a village green. I can whole heartedly recommend staying here so much so, we intend to stay again later this year. Big thank-you Tina.

Owner's Response: Wow Julie you packed a lot into your family's week in Bridge. By the way I have now added a small fishing net and bucket to our equipment at the house, so you'll have to come back and try pond dipping in our Nailbourne chalk stream.

Home away from home

We arrived to a pleasant comfortable and homely house that was enjoyed by all 7 of us! We enjoyed our visit of the area, beaches, and beautiful Canterbury. We hope that we will have the privilege to visit in the future.

Perfect accomodation & dedicated lessor !

The accomodation is so well furnished that it was indeed convenient for our whole familiy (2 parents, 5 children). We especially loved the cozy fireplace-styled heating in the living room. 2 toilets. Great conservatory ("winter-garden") with all-around bright view & all-around curtains. Nice garden. Quiet Environment.

Regarding accomodation & furnishings as well as tips & information for environment & activities, everything is managed/furnished/explained perfectly. The tip to reach London via Bexley station (park&ride) is great!

Tina is distinctly solicitous and quickly organized the postal dispatch to Germany of a Laptop we (indeed!) forgot in Green court. We would be delighted to stay here again - absolute recommendation!

a perfect holiday in a perfect cottage

We, a family of 5 from the Netherlands were looking for a cottage in Kent. And Green Court, Bridge was just perfect! Clean, warm and spacious. And the location was just spot-on. We visited Canterbury, the P&R is just around the corner and made a long walk at the white cliffs of Dover. Even London isn't far away, an hours drive to Bexley station, with ample parking, and then by train to the city centre.We visited Leeds Castle, a great day out. And every time we came back to "our" cosy cottage, it felt like coming home! Many thanks from all of us, we would be delighted to stay here again!

Comfy, convenient, great location!

This clean, well-kept, lovely house is a real home-away-from-home. Located on a quiet road within two minutes walking distance from a shop, a butcher, excellent pubs, and the other amenities of Bridge, it is an ideal base for exploring the area around Canterbury. We have stayed here twice and will be delighted to return!

Just the Job

We booked the house to use as a base for visits to and from our young grandchildren in Canterbury, as the property description indicated it was suitable and the location looked good. We were not disappointed. The accommodation met our needs perfectly. It was clean, warm, spacious, well-equipped and most comfortable. We enjoyed staying in a property where everything worked.

The quiet village of Bridge is a good location for exploring the surrounding area, whether on foot, by bike, by car or public transport and it even has a small supermarket.

The owner was very helpful and we intend to stay at Green Court again.
