About Margaret Lewis

Our names are John and Margaret Lewis, we have 2 children Steven and Ellen and Grandparents to Megan and Olivia

We are in our early 60's and have been proud owners of Old Court 36 for over 23 years now. We have taken great pride in our house updating and upgrading most years.

We love our house and have taken great pride in keeping it well decorated every year, and kept really well up to standard over the years. We still love to have our holidays here.

We take pride in gaining the 3 Star Enjoy England award.

Most years we have upgraded the house to keep it up to scratch.

Margaret Lewis purchased this house in 1980

Why Margaret Lewis chose Cornwall

We love Penzance because it is usually milder here than the rest of England.

We love Kenegie Manor because of the lovely picturesque rural location, and the beautiful landscaped gardens and swimming pool set in peaceful surroundings. We also love to visit St Ives which is a favourite place of ours

Great location, lovely home

  • 5 of 5

The house was fantastic. Really well positioned to enjoy everything in that region such as the Minnack Theatre, Lands End and St Michaels Mount. The house itself was well equipped with everything you could possibly need; a real home from home. I wouldn't hestitate to recommend this house to anyone.

Fantastic Accommodation!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for two weeks and were very impressed with the accommodation. It was very comfortable and had all the amenities that you would want, it was kept incredibly clean and the addition of access to the pool was great as there is something to do on any dull days. What is really great about this accommodation is that is such a good base to get to all the areas surrounding, simple and quick route into St Ives and Penzance, and to all of the best beaches and attractions in the area. There are also a number of the biggest supermarket chains local with access to cash machines and petrol stations. I could couldn't recommend this accommodation more highly, thanks!

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time, the cottage was immaculate and very comfortable. Our kids were over the moon when they found kids DVDs and beach toys for them in their cupboard. The premises has a tennis court and indoor pool was very handy to keep them busy on a rainy day. The beaches around this area are too notch . Would recommend it! *****

Wow, fantastic home from home

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived, we felt at home.

The house is beautifully presented and well equipped (with comfy beds too).

Margaret and her team were really friendly and efficient, from the first time we made contact until the moment we left.

The location is perfect for exploring south Cornwall being only minutes from Penzance and the A30 but is set in such a peaceful countryside location you'd think you were miles away from the city.

We visited Geevor and Levant mines, Healey's Cyder Farm and Lizard Point. We also took the train to St Ives from St Erth station - much easier than parking in St Ives! We walked some of the Coastal Footpath and made good use of the National Trust car parks to admire the views. Margaret provides a book of ideas and attractions at the house, including very useful large scale maps.

There's a post office & small shops in Gulval, 3 large supermarkets down the road on the A30 and plenty of other shops in Penzance itself.

We'd recommend The Italian Kitchen in Newlyn and The Coldstreamer Pub in Gulval for eating out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and we're already looking at dates for next year.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your very kind and informative review, We have had our house for 25 years and have kept it upgraded year on year to secure our Enjoy England 3 star rating, so your review has made all our efforts feel worthwhile. Your tip on travelling by train from St Erth to St Ives is a fantastic idea especially in high season, we will pass this information on to customers and definitely use ourselves as we stay in our holiday house frequently too. Regards Margaret John Glen and Jo
