Spacious Whitewashed Cottage With Sea And Mountain Views

Updated: 01-Oct-2016
Cottage in Llanfairfechan, Near Conwy, Wales - Perfect Location, walk to the beach

Crud Y Mor is a traditional, whitewashed cottage, which has been extended to provide very comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people. It is situated in the heart of Llanfairfechan between the sea and the hills behind the village and the house offers views of both! Smart new kitchen and bathrooms, cozy, warm living areas and spacious bedrooms all create a home from home for your ideal holiday. The pretty rear garden is a peaceful place to be, if you can't summon the energy to explore! A relaxed walk through the village brings you to the beautiful beach with old fashioned promenade and Beach Pavilion cafe - the perfect place to stop and grab a bacon butty and hot drink and open all year round. Stop on the way back to purchase groceries in the local supermarket, or put your feet up and order a takeaway instead! A walk in the opposite direction takes you to the start of the Snowdonia National Park hills at the top of the village, where you can walk by the river.

About the Owner

My husband, Brian, and I get away to Wales whenever we can. The cottage we call our second home was where my parents lived for many years. When they needed to sell up and move we couldn't bear the thought of not being able to holiday there anymore, so we bought it! Now we think we should share this heavenly place with others, so please come and stay! You will not be disappointed. The cottage is a home from home. You could spend a very relaxing holiday in Llanfairfechan, walking on the beach or in the surrounding hills, finished off with a visit to the pub or a cozy night in with a takeaway. Similarly, there are so many things to see and do with beautiful Snowdonia and Anglesey on the doorstep, there need never be a dull moment! It's your choice.

Guestbook comments from the owner

1. The cottage is a real delight. Clean and tidy, warm and comfortable, a real home from home. An excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. We stayed during December and enjoyed spending the days exploring the local area and the evenings very comfortably in the house. Good amenities on offer in the village. An ideal place for getting away from it all. All in all an excellent place to stay.

2. Thanks Dawn and Bri for another fabulous stay at your gorgeous cottage; we arrived late at night after a long journey to a lovely warm, cosy cottage. We found it incredibly well equipped with everything needed for a really comfortable stay.

But for us, the biggest plus is being able to bring our little dogs!

We all really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It had everything you needed and more ! We liked little touches like a bike , spare coats and blankets if feeling chilly , a true home from home. Tthe area was so beautiful and easy to get to places at max half hour drive away. Some days we stayed at cottage and walked..Would recommend it !

Lovely cosy cottage with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for one week in June with our two dogs. The cottage is warm and cosy (we didn't have the best weather so the warmth was welcome!), but still felt spacious. The views from every window are amazing - mountains at the back and views of the sea and Anglesey to the front. Llanfairfechan is a nice village/town and the cottage is about a 10 minute walk to the fabulous beach and coastal walk which our dogs loved. It was great to have a comprehensive welcome pack (and a lovely bottle of wine - thank you!) detailing all the information we needed about the cottage and the area (including which parts of the beach dogs are allowed on in the Summer months). One of the three pubs in the village welcomed dogs at the time of our stay and also had a lovely beer garden near to the stream which runs through the village. Overall, a great base for exploring North Wales (Betws-y-Coed, Llyn Padarn, Llandudno etc) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - thank you - and Dawn was great at answering any questions we had about our stay :)

Warm cosey cottage in good location

  • 4 of 5

We were a group of three couples. The upstairs layout was ideal for us, giving everybody some privacy, only downside was that one of the beds in the middle room was a temporary bed, which we had not realised and as we are all tall did cause a bit of a problem. The kitchen was well equipped for six adults, we ate in most nights and had everything we needed. The lounge was a bit cosey, but we spent most evenings in the dining room. We had a minor issue when we arrived, all the beds had not been made up, following a telephone call to Dawn, this was easily resolved. The cottage was lovely and warm and we always had plenty of hot water for us all to shower after a day on the hills. The cottage is in a good location with easy access to Snowdonia, Anglesey and Llandudno. We had a great week and would definitely recommend the cottage.

Great location, beautiful surroundings

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in February for 3 nights and had a lovely time. As there was only the two of us we had plenty of room in the cottage for a relaxing break. The views from the cottage are beautiful, front and behind. So many nice places to see and visit-just not enough time in 4 days!

Our Fourth Visit to this Lovely Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth visit to this lovely cottage. Set in a beautiful village with its own beach, the cottage is a real home from home. Comfortable, with everything you need to help your stay be as relaxing as possible. The cottage is very close to the A55 which takes you to all the lovely surrounding areas, Llandudno, Anglesey, Llanberis, Conwy to name but a few. We will be returning again next year!

Fantastic Cottage in a lovely Town

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect place to stay for our family! There were five of us altogether: 2 adults and three children (aged 3, 7 and 12). The Cottage was like home from home and had everything we needed. It was situated in a lovely Town with everything within walking distance. It was also very central for all the places we love: Mount Snowdon, Betws y Coed, Llandudno and Conwy. We were so pleased to have found the Cottage and hope to return in the future.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Manchester/Liverpool at 80 Miles Car: recommended

A relaxed 15 minute walk through the village brings you to the beautiful blue flag beach of Llanfairfechan. Looking out to sea, you will have a view of Anglesey, Puffin Island and Llandudno. Take a walk back in time - the only building on the promenade is the old pavilion, now a cafe. Take a stroll along the sandy beach, which is also a bird sanctuary. Just back from the promenade is a play park and outdoor paddling pool, as well as public tennis courts, bowls green and football pitch.

Llanfairfechan is on the main A55 coastal road. It has a train stop for travel along the coast.

Liverpool and Manchester airports are within 1.5 hours drive.

Holyhead port on Anglesey runs ferries to Ireland.

Llandudno 8 miles. Bangor 11 miles. Conwy 6 miles.

Further Details:

Llanfairfechan has two supermarkets and a sprinkling of other shops. There are pubs and takeaways as well as several cafes. Also an ATM for cash. There are many good restaurants in the area and we provide details of these at the cottage for your information. Llanfairfechan is very popular with walkers and bird watchers, but it is also an excellent base for exploring everything North Wales has to offer. We regularly visit Llandudno for its activities and beautiful Victorian seafront and shops. Very popular with our friends and family is also Betws Y Coed, from where you can partake in many outdoor activities, such as gorge scrambling and coasteering. If castles are your thing, head for Beaumaris, Caernarfon, Penrhyn or Conwy.
