About the property

FR15902

Set in the 5 acre grounds of the historic Pavillon de la Reine, these two properties nestle in the beautiful Normandy countryside within ten minutes walk of the Honfleur town centre along a quiet road. They originally date from the 17th/18th centuries. La Ferme is a large yet comfortable timber framed house that sleeps 10 - 2 can be added on a sofa bed for a supplement of 10€ per night per person - All the bedrooms are on the first and second floors and there are two flights of stairs, each leading to 2 parts of the house. On one side, there's a parental bedroom with its en suite bathroom and a children's bedroom with its own toilet and basin. On the other side, there's a master bedroom on the first floor and a bathroom with shower and a separate toilet and on the second floor, there are 2 bedrooms. On the groundfloor, kitchen, living-rroms and dining-room are shared, so it's ideal for groups of friends or 2 families.

La Bergerie is in flint and brick and sleeps 4. The bedroom are on the first floor and have each a bath and a basin. The toilet is shared by the 2 bedrooms and are on the landing on the first floor between the bedrooms.

The garden is shared but each house has its own private outdoor space and eating area. You will find a swing and a slide for the young ones (under parental supervision) and a small cabin for children to play with. We have 2 friendly miniature goats in a paddock above La Bergerie.

About Isabelle Mountain

The properties belong to an Anglo/French family. My husband and I bought the properties in 2003 and decided to restaure them and transform them into comfortable and welcoming places for you to stay. We brought up our two daughters there for 8 years and then spent 6 years in Paris, but after my husband passed away last summer, I decided to carry on managing the properties and to return to Honfleur. I get help from Amanda and Craig Ferguson, who also live in Honfleur and organise everything if I'm not around. We are all committed to making sure that you stay is memorable and that you leave determined to come back.

Honfleur is a beautiful and picturesque town and the properties are ideally located, only 10 minutes walk from the harbour and the town centre, and in a peaceful 5 acre ground.

Our family holiday.

  • 5 of 5

I, my wife, our three children and our three grand-children stayed at both La Ferme and La Bergerie in August last year.

La Ferme is a beautifully restored farm house full of beams and old world charm. It has two narrow staircases to the upper floors which may however present a challenge to the less agile. It is very well equipped with every thing you might need for a comfortable holiday anytime of the year.

La Bergerie is located about 100 yards up the gravel driveway and enjoys fabulous views towards Honfleur. It is a modern reconstruction of a flint cottage, and has been built to a very high standard. The downstairs is open plan and has a large glazed garden room to the side, upstairs has two bedrooms, each with bath and hand basin. My only criticism would be that there is only one loo. It is also very well equipped with every thing you might need.

The location of both houses is perfect, it's very peaceful with a large garden complete with a children's play area, horses in the paddock and a couple of goats in the adjoining field. The walk into Honfleur only takes about 15 minutes.

The owner Isabelle is the perfect hostess, she met us when we arrived and presented us with a welcome pack and showed us around the houses. She lives nearby so is always available to assist with any problems and recommendations for the many nearby restaurants.

To conclude, we all had a very enjoyable holiday, staying in two most comfortable houses, so good in fact we are returning this year.

Tasteful, spacious and calm close to town.

  • 5 of 5

We (a family of four) accompanied by Granny had a great week here. A wonderful welcome - nothing has been forgotten and the house is lovely, spacious, comfortable and practical. Close enough to walk to town yet has a feeling of the country with a lovely big garden. Also close to the road out if taking day trips. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful stay we had. Absolutely gorgeous house. Warm and cosy but large and spacious with such tasteful decor. We spent every evening enjoying the open fire and the wonderful views of Honfleur. And there was so much to do in the surrounding area during the daytime with children. Thank you Isabelle for a lovely stay and for being such a helpful and thoughtful host. We had a truly enjoyable stay.
