About Manuel Spangaro

Manuel & Simona : we fell in love with Casaschino area many years ago. Manuel had been attracted to this area since the 1970's, mainly because of the unique countryside which is simple direct and genuine Three elements he consider fundamental to a serene lifestyle.

Simona joined him in the eighties and she immediately shared his view which was to enjoy a natural environmental lifestyle, and a place to escape daily pressure enjoy the surrounding flora and fauna.

Summer 2015

  • 5 of 5

We had the most beautiful summer one can imagine! If you like slow paste, tasty food and wine, beautiful nature, area without tourists, great weather and nice people we strongly recomend this place!! The house is located in this very small village, Casasco, but close to San Sebastiano Curone, Momperone and Tortona. We were able to do our crocery shopping in San Sebastiano and went out for dinner at this great pizzeria in Momperone a few times. We also recomend to eat out in the areas two local agriturismo places!Really great food and great people! The white house itself is renovated with love and it had everything we needed. We were also able to cool down in the nice private pool, which we really needed with up to 38 degress celsius. And having a shower outside overlooking the fields and the lavendel bushes... say no more!! Happy days! Manuel and Simona(the owners) were gentle and helpful, and still they respected our privacy! For anyone thinking about staying in this beautiful valley, you would not be disapponted choosing this place! Enjoy ;)

Lovely peaceful house

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week in this wonderful house with amazing views over the hills and mountains. We found it to be perfect for a peaceful, relaxing break. So very private and beautiful with an amazing pool and sunbathing area. Simona and Manuel were very friendly and helpful, they were even kind enough to give us two bottles of wine.

Peaceful

  • 4 of 5

On arrival at Casachino we were greeted like old friends and at once felt at home.

This is an ideal place to chill out, not overlooked or bothered by any thing or anyone. Great views of the surrounding countryside. The house is old and quirky with a rustic charm of its own. Alarge supermarket in Tortona will provide all you need to hide away (if that is what you want), with local restaurants not too far away.

We had a relaxing time and would return at a later date.

Many thanks to Simona & Manuel for sharing their dream with us.

Location

Special interest holidays:

Wine production is a well-established activity that greatly contributes to the wealth of the area. Barbera and Timorasso are the typical red and wine grapes of the region. Last but not least, Casaschino is surrounded by hills that make mountain-biking and cycling pleasant and healthy (you certainly won’t forget the experience).

Travel:

Arriving by car to Casaschino, Tortona or Arquata Scrivia are the exits on the A7 Motorway that you have to aim for when coming from Milan or Genoa. A7 is the Autostrada that runs north/south (Milan and Genoa) and the nearby metropolis of Tortona is within easy access to Casasco. Once off the Autostrada at Tortona, the SP120 secondary road should be followed and signs for Garbagna will appear. You should follow these signs. Casaschino lies on top of a hill overlooking the surrounding vineyards.

Distances:

Casaschino is at the center of a triangle formed by Turin, Milan and Genoa. Therefore, it is easy to get the most out of sight-seeing experiences (it is about an hour by car to the cities mentioned). In addition, Italian Riviera villages like the Cinque Terre are reachable by car in about the same time (1 hour).
