A beautiful, old property (17th Century) with a huge amount of character. Inglenook fireplace with woodburner, slate floor with large flagstones. The main double bedroom has a high vaulted ceiling and a kingsize bed. There is a small single room and a medium size twin bedded room. All rooms overlook the enclosed courtyard which is South facing so remains in the sun for most of the day/early evening. There is also a large garden.
A large bathroom with shower over the bath.
The spacious kitchen with electric cooker (and Aga, which does not run all year round, enquire on booking), large dining table, and well equipped kitchen, fridge, freezer, microwave: leads into the open plan sitting room with 42" plasma television, DVD player and "Wifi" .
Church Cottage is a barn conversion which is set beside the beautiful and historic St. Gennys Church. 1 mile from the beach, pub and cafes. There are a number of restaurants in the immediate area.
I have lived in North Cornwall for nearly 40 years and love the rugged and wild nature of the coastline with beautiful sandy and rocky coves. (I have travelled extensively in many parts of the world, but no where rivals the unique beauty of Crackington Haven and surrounding area). A great passion of mine is wildlife conservation and leading small group guided walks. I take guests on regular walks to see deer, badgers and seals whilst also learning a great deal about the natural history of the area.
Francis Crocker purchased this house in 2002
Church Cottage is set beside the historic Norman St. Gennys Church (no bells so no need to worry about being disturbed).
The cottage is a barn conversion (dating back over 200 years). The bed rooms are down stairs (east facing so that they make the most of the early morning sun). The kitchen and living area are upstairs so that the incredible sea views can be enjoyed fully.
The enclosed garden looks straight out to the Atlantic Ocean.
I bought the property because it is in one of the most beautiful coastal locations in England.
Church Cottage is set in a quiet, timeless location whilst being easily accessible by car.
If you enjoy quiet relaxation then this is the place for you, whilst only a short walk from the beach and pub at Crackington Haven.
The views and the coastal walking are magnificent surrounding the cottage.
