Full of character, this beautifully presented villa successfully combines modern fixtures and fittings with the style and ambiance of a traditional ottoman style property. Light, airy and deceptively spacious, the villa benefits from stunning views across Kalkan Bay to the town beyond. The outside space includes an infinity pool, terrace with sun-beds and parasols, dining area with large marble table, seating and canopy shade. There is also a courtyard with adjoining, versatile covered "garden room" with comfortable seating. Inside, the property is furnished to a high standard with a large open-plan living space plus cloakroom on the ground floor. Upstairs, the Ottoman feel is accentuated by travertine tiled bathrooms and beautiful dark wood ceilings in both en suite bedrooms. Each bedroom has access onto the large first floor balcony. Villa Josephina is only 100m from the sea but due to the elevated position is just a few minutes walk from the nearest beach park where you may swim in the sea, relax on sunbeds, enjoy a meal or drink, or catch the regular boat service over to Kalkan harbour and town centre less than 10 minutes away.
The large first floor balcony terrace wraps around the side and front of the property. This is furnished with tables and chairs, offering the perfect vantage point for watching the boats in the bay during the day and the lights of the town at night.
'The photos on the website did not prepare us for the stunning views. Treated to a very close encounter with a turtle – a very special moment to end a very special holiday. We will certainly be back’
We have visited Kalkan before but stayed in another villas in the Kisla area. Josephina was a lovely villa, we honestly felt there was nothing more we could have wanted or wished for. Our thanks to the owners for letting us use your villa, the facilities and for being so accommodating. Thanks also to Fiona for her excellent organisation (as always)
Like most properties in Kisla the view across to Kalkan is wonderful. Villa Josephina was conveniently situated for the beach, beach clubs and boat taxi.
We have visited Kalkan many times and stayed in several different villas but this one ticked all the boxes for us. The views were fabulous and the villa was spotlessly clean with everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. The views from the villa were breathtaking yet we were close enough to the beach to pop down for a quick swim in the beautiful clear water when we wanted. Villa Josephina is in a peaceful area but it's easy to get into the centre of Kalkan by water taxi or on foot. Special mention must be given to Fiona who was so helpful to us and responded promptly to all communication. Many thanks!
We had a wonderful two weeks at Villa Josephina. The villa was spotless and clearly a lot of thought has gone into ensuring that everything was perfect. The welcome pack of bread, fruit and essentials was very thoughtful.
Jamil the pool man bought us bread every morning and kept the pool and garden clean and tidy. The villa gets sun all day and the pool and views are amazing. The beach at Kalkun Beach Club were a 5 minute walk away and Mark spotted a turtle on the first day. Despite this we were happy at the villa most days as it had everything we needed. Kisla was very peaceful.
We ate a couple of times at the restaurant just above the Beach Club (name escapes me) which I would recommend. We also got the boat to Kalkan and ate at some of the roof top restaurants. The boat didn't run after about 2000 so we had to get a taxi back. Not expensive. Our favourite was Adams, a family run restaurant just outside Kuala with views over the sea and islands. He will come and collect you and bring you back at no extra cost. His phone number is in the visitor book.
The market on Thursday at Kalkan was fun, handbags, shoes, jewellery, clothes. All at good prices. Fruit and veg stall worth a visit.
We had a day at Patara both ruins and beach. Both well worth a visit. We organised this ourselves via a man in Kalkan (cheaper than Asda shop).
The only thing I didn't like was leaving.
We do generally like going to explore different places but we are definitely coming back to Villa Josephina next year.
I would recommend this villa. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home.
This was our second visit to Villa Josephina in Kalkan. The villa is beautiful and the infinity pool with views over the bay is stunning. The location is perfect with easy access to beach clubs and the water taxi across the bay to Kalkan is really convenient. Kalkan has lots of restaurants to choose from and the food served is delicious. You will not be disappointed.
Villa Josephina more than exceeded our expectations, the facilities are excellent,.
The villa itself is surrounded by beautifully kept flowers and lemon trees, and has a lovely covered terrace with comfortable seating. The infinity pool is kept clean by the pool man who also waters all the plants and will bring you fresh bread in the morning if required.
Upstairs there are two comfortable en suite bedrooms joined by a surround balcony, perfect for sitting and enjoying the spectacular view overlooking the bay.
The Beach club is only a short walk away and has great amenities, especially if you have children. You can also get a water taxi from here to Kalkan harbour which is quick and cheap and perfect for turtle spotting.
If boats are not your thing there is an excellent taxi service, get a business card from one and he will pick you up at your will.
The villa is perfect for relaxing and generally doing nothing, there are also 2 good restaurants nearby if you don.t want to go into Kalkan. We especially liked Bobs restaurant which also has a small shop for basics.
Turkish people are very friendly and always make sure you have every thing you want.
Altogether a lovely experience and I would have no hesitation in recommending Villa Josephina.
We have loved staying at Villa Josephina, in fact if we had the money and were in a different stage of our lives we would happily buy it! The villa has views across to Kalkan and you can spend hours just watching gullets come and go and see the twinkling lights from the pool cooling off after a hard night out.
Kalkan Beach Club is 200 metres away and a water taxi runs from there into Kalkan every 30 minutes approximately, 10TL - £2.50 return trip per person. It runs until 4am and on one particularly late night I had fun waking the 'captain' at 2am who was snoozing by the helm.
We ate out every evening in Kalkan, the food was excellent and sitting on the roof top tavernas admiring the views and people watching was a treat. The town has a buzz at night, feels very safe and the people are friendly and polite.
The villa is set in a quite back road, not overlooked and has a pretty garden with bougainvillea, an orange and lemon tree.
The pool man and cleaners who look after the villa are very thorough, friendly and you hardly notice them.
The villa was also very easy to book and I found Fiona and the owners very easy to deal with, knowledgeable, honest and fair.
There are two beach clubs in Kisla within a few minutes walk of the villa, where you can swim in the sea and enjoy swimming/ diving platforms
Kalkan itself has a modest pebbled beach next to the harbor. The stunning turquoise cove at Kaputas is 10 minutes drive away and the fabulous 18km sandy beach at Patara is 20 minutes drive, bus services operate to both of these.
The closest airport is Dalaman which is approximately 90 minutes drive from the villa. Several local companies offer a transfer service which we can book on your behalf. Although car hire is not essential, there is no doubt that hiring a vehicle for a day or two will allow you to make the most of this fascinating area by exploring further afield. Again, we can arrange car hire through a local firm on your behalf.
Kalkan town centre with its extensive range of restaurants, bars and shops is approx 2.5km from Villa Josephina. This equates to a 30 min walk, 5 min drive or 10 min by boat service which runs from the nearby beach club. There are also ample taxis available if required. Kisla itself has a small general store and the 'Beach Park' restaurant that serves breakfast, snacks, drinks, lunch and dinner. For a more selective, discerning dining experience, three excellent restaurants are within 5 minutes walk of the villa.
