It is set over 3 floors providing spacious comfortable accommodation, ideal for families looking for a quality holiday home. On a quiet pedestrianised street, it is the ideal place to stay to enjoy the best St Ives has to offer, all within easy reach. Gas central heating, electricity, linen and towels all included. Free WiFi. Parking space included.

About Kate Akkerman

Me and my husband live in Oxfordshire with our 2 young sons. We have enjoyed many special holidays in St Ives and have recently realized our long held dream of owning our home there.

St Ives is special to many people and, like them, we enjoy the beaches, turquoise sea and unique old town of this truly magical place, a contrast to our main home in the countryside.

We have tried to make Mario House our home away from home and therefore we hope you will enjoy your holiday as much as we always do.

Why Kate Akkerman chose Saint Ives

We wanted our home in St Ives to be in the Downalong area as this allows you to be on the beach, in the harbor or at the shops within a couple of minutes walk.

This part of St Ives has remained true to its origins with many Grade II listed buildings and provides you with a unique flavor of times gone by.

What makes this house unique

Mario House is a spacious Grade II listed cottage with bags of character whilst enjoying all modern comforts boasting 2 bathrooms a kitchen diner, central heating, Wi-Fi and a 2 SMART TV's.

For those who know St Ives, parking is at a premium and we are delighted that we can offer a car parking space which is included in the rental price, and is situated a 10-15 minute walk from the property.

Good house close to beaches and central St Ives facilities

Good for three generations to holiday together with parents and children on top floor and grandparents sleeping in the middle floor (twin beds) bedroom.

Happy in Downalong

We enjoyed staying in this cottage for a week in October. Everything was spotless and orderly, exactly as advertised. The town of St. Ives is a delight and you really feel part of the action in this location. Having a dedicated parking spot was a good mental comfort, although, in truth we ended up using the long-term parking lot next to the Tate due to its proximity to the cottage. October is a fine time to visit and we enjoyed hiking parts of the South West Coastal Path each day. We also enjoyed boogie boarding with wetsuits on the Porthmeor beach. Can't wait to return.

We had a very enjoyable week staying at Mario House in St Ives. The cottage has been maintained to a high standard and is in a perfect location being minutes away from the harbour, beaches, walks, restaurants and shops. The reserved car parking space is a 15 minute average pace walk away. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely house in a great location.

Well equipped home cosily decorated throughout. Brilliant location with beaches, shops and restaurants only 1 minute walk away. Although located near to the harbour there was no noise at night. Parking space is 15 minute walk away up a steep hill but due to location only used car once during our weeks stay. Highly recommend Mario house

2 minute walk to award winning Porthmeor Beach - Blue Flag, family and surfing beach with surf school, restaurant and kiosk, life guarded April to Oct.

2 minute walk to harbour, watch the fishermen, take a boat to see the seals and coastline.

5 minute walk to Porthgwidden beach, delightful small sandy cove with gentle waves and sun-trap with safe bathing, restaurant and kiosk.

St. Ives railway station and bus station is about 10 minutes walk.

Nearest airport - Newquay (approx 1 hour driving time).

St Ives is full of wonderful restaurants, shops and galleries, and is wonderfully located for numerous day trips.
