About the Owner

My name is Melanie King and I live in Hampshire, England with my husband, 4 sons and our 2 Old English Sheepdogs. We have a deep love of Cornwall and have spent many happy holidays at the cottage where the boys can sail and surf and we can enjoy the stunning cliff walks with the dogs. We have tried to equip the cottage with everything you could possibly need so you can enjoy a relaxing and memorable holiday. The area is surrounded by footpaths and the nearest beach, Trebarwith Strand, is dog friendly all the year around

Tranquil Trevillick.

Retreat from the Rat Race at this stone cottage with slate floors and Aga but also WiFi and large Telly. Masses of books and kitchen stuff. It's right on the Coastal Path and you can walk to Tintagel Castle and the beach at Trebarwith. We've been at least six times. Brilliant

Cosy Cottage with stunning views!

I have stayed in quite a few holiday rentals over recent years and this cottage has certainly been the best. Trevillick cottage was everything we had hoped for and more. The rural location and beautiful setting provides the ideal opportunity for one to relax. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and really is 5 star. It was immaculate on arrival and very well equipped with fantastic views! The scones on arrival were a lovely surprise!

The cottage is a great base for which to visit the many local sights, especially Port Isaac, Padstow, Crackington Haven and Rocky Valley. The nearest beach to the cottage is Trebarwith Strand

Location

From the Owner

Trevillick has everything I was looking for in a holiday cottage. Its very peaceful and private yet near enough the village to walk in for supplies. It has amazing views up to Bodmin and out to the sea. Most of all it has an cosy, welcoming atmosphere that means as soon as we step out of the car after driving down we feel very relaxed and the stresses of home and work fade instantly away.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The cottage is 200 m from the coastal path with stunning cliff and sea views. The nearest beach is Trebarwith Strand - 10 minutes walk along the cliff path or 5 minutes by car. It only has sand at low tide but its perfect for rock pooling, body boarding and surfing. There are a couple of cafes and shops for ice creams. Crackington Haven and Bude are further up the North coast and Daymer Bay and Polzeath 20 minutes to the South.

Travel:

The nearest airport is at Newquay - 20 miles away

Distances:

Tintagel is 20 minutes away from the market town of Wadebridge with supermarkets and shopping but also very well located to visit places of interest in Devon and Cornwall being only an hour away from the larger towns of Falmouth and Truro in the South. The world famous Eden project can be reached in the same time.

Further Details:

The ancient village of Tintagel, steeped in myth and legend is just a 10 minute walk via a footpath from the property. King Arthur's island with the Castle is also only a 10 minute walk along the coast path, which is accessed 50 yards from the cottage. The village of Tintagel has a couple of small supermarkets with PO, cafes, pubs, a great butchers, hardware shop and lots of gift shops. The 14th Century National Trust Old Post Office and King Arthurs great Halls are within easy walking distance as is the beautiful St Nectan’s Glen and Rocky Valley at Bossiney. The coastline is breathtaking with Boscastle a 3 mile walk along the coastal path. You could walk there and catch the bus back as its quite an energetic walk! There are plenty of beaches nearby for families, such as Crackington Haven and Daymer Bay and excellent surfing at Trebarwith and Polzeath or up the coast at Bude.

The nearest large supermarket is Tescos in Wadebridge or asda in Bodmin - they can deliver to the cottage.

For horse riding stables head to nearby Bossiney or there is also good riding from several stables out on Bodmin moor, an area made famous in the novel Jamaica Inn.

There are Golf Clubs at St Endoc, near Rock 14 miles away and at Bowood 10 miles away. If you fancy cycling, bikes can be hired at several places including Bodmin, Padstow and Wadebridge. A lovely family ride is the Camel trail between Bodmin and Padstow. Padstow is famous for it’s connections to celebrity chef Rick Stein and his fish and chips are excellent! If you head further down the coast to Watergate Bay you’ll find Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen.

Facilities

From the Owner

The best thing about the cottage really is the location as you can easily walk to the shops and pubs but the house is private and peaceful with views of the sea from one side and rolling hills from the other which make it special It has a lovely cosy with the AGA and woodburner atmosphere and we enjoy it whatever the weather - as a previous guest said after their fourth visit; 'We feel the cottage gives us a hug when we arrive and tugs us back when we leave.'
