Castle House Penthouse is 25 yards from the harbour's edge. This luxury penthouse has superb views from the living room and two of the bedrooms across to Fowey and Bodinnick. It is furnished to a very high standard. Polruan's village shops and inns and the ferry to Fowey are all within easy walking distance as are the coastal paths. Unloading is possible within 20 yards and private parking is available at £30 per week subject to availabilty or in the main car park.

Great views from a wonderful house

Just had a wonderful week in Polruan . The house was perfect , beds very comfortable and the most amazing views across to Fowey. We really loved the location and also the coastal path down to Lantic Bay. The weather was hot , but we still had a breeze running through the house. Would love to return.

Our Favourite House in the Whole World !

We are just about to come back for our third stay in this absolutely stunning and exquisite house. To be honest, nowhere really compares to this house now for us. We certainly have NEVER stayed anywhere quite so luxurious and it's not just that. It's really like staying in a home from home because absolutely everything that you could possibly imagine needing or even dreaming up IS THERE even down to wanting to have a really luxurious shower or bath with Molton Brown toiletries! I think I should like to live in this house forever !! We have come in the summer and winter and the house is so beautifiul it's actually a really lovely place to be whatever the weather. I think out favourite things - as well as the surrounding area which we would now like to live in ! - is sitting in the vast window in the sitting room and watching the boats with the binoculars .. and going out to catch fish and then cooking them with a glass of wine in the wonderfully kitted out kitchen whilst the other one sits on the sofa and looks out over the harbour and chats .. and falling asleep in one of the great big beds watching the lights and the stars twinkling on the water and listening to the sea. It's just blissful ! We work with people who are very sick so to be somewhere SO beautiful and to just be surrounded by such beauty in Polruan AND in the house is just quite simply for us HEAVEN. And I would like to just say a little word about the owners who clearly have made the house with Love and care and just bend over backwards to make your stay .. well OUT OF THIS WORLD really !! My advice would be to just come here. I guarantee you will probably never want to go anywhere else ever again !!

My Little Paradise

This was our second stay at the studio and as a family our 10th visit to Polruan although I personally have been coming for the last 44 years!!! The studio rates as 'thee' best appointed accommodation we have stayed in over the years and we will without doubt be back. We recommend the food in the Lugger on the quay and 'Sam's' over in Fowey. If you fancy a boat trip along the coast or up the river we cannot recommend enough a trip on 'MOOGIE' with Danny Hicks who also does fishing trips. His knowledge of the area is unparalleled and his banter will have you in stitches!!!! You will find his number on Polruan Quay. if you like walking you must go on the 'Hall Walk' which takes you from Polruan, up the river along 'Pont Pil' and then on to 'Bodinnick' where welcome liquid refreshments await you in the 'Ferrymans Inn'. Then jump on the car ferry and walk through Fowey back to the passenger ferry to Polruan. There are lots of other attractions locally but none as nice as Polruan.........Trust me..........I've tried them all!!!!

Polruan has a small tidal beach which is 5 minutes walk from the Penthouse.

Readymoney Cove at Fowey is reached by the passenger ferry which is 5 minutes walk from the Penthouse, once in Fowey the beach is approximately a 10 minute walk from the ferry.

Further Details:

Polruan has a village shop, tea shop and two pubs which serve reasonably priced good food. The passenger ferry operates to Fowey (please check times as they vary according to time of year) where there are a number of shops, fresh fish mongers, butcher/delicatessen, restaurants, cafes (Pinky Murphys is a particular favourite - carry on up past the post office and you will find it on your left), art galleries, post office and banking facilities. Waitrose is located at Saltash and other large supermarkets in St. Austell.
