A twin bedroom with two 3’ (91 cm) beds.
A further twin bedroom with two 3’ (91 cm) beds.
There are additionally two comfortable single Z beds that can be placed in any of the rooms.

Additionally there is a bathroom with mixer shower, small wash basin and WC, and a further one which is a “wet room” with easy-access shower, basin & WC.
The comfortable TV Sitting Room with lovely views out on 3 sides has a modern wood-burning stove within a brick chimney piece, at one end of which is a built-in dining alcove for up to 12 people, with a serving hatch through from the kitchen.

A birthday getaway for 11 ladies and it was perfect for us.
Lovely location, beautiful estate, we enjoyed the pool and the sauna as well. It was spotlessly clean and functional. We would definitely return.

Would recommend 💯
Just stayed here for my mums belated 80th birthday with my family, 12 in total ranging from 11-81. Can’t recommend it enough, location was excellent, accommodation was really clean, comfy beds. The tennis court was an absolute bonus, we used this a lot and the swimming pool was great for fun and easy to book a slot. The only thing I would say is the oven and fridge/freezer was a bit small for 12 people. We would definitely go back

Perfect place for a family holiday
This property was perfect for our family holiday. We ranged in age from 5 to 75 and Mounts View suited everyone's needs. The fact it was all on one level really helped us. The biggest draw was the heated indoor swimming pool which we were able to book twice a day to have all to ourselves - such a treat! The sauna afterwards in our own back garden was such a novelty too and a real luxury. We enjoyed a meal out in nearby Hailsham, a walk around Arlington Reservoir and ice creams at Bexhill on Sea but mostly we just enjoyed being together in the house and enjoying the beautiful, peaceful surroundings. We will certainly be back!

About the host

Hosted by Kildare Borrowes

Host profile image
I am Kildare Borrowes, cousin of the owner Eva Morris, and I look after all Pekes bookings for her.
I am a writer and gardener, and particularly interested in the history of Sussex and its landscapes, its painters and its gardens. Like for most people I find there are few greater pleasures in life than walking along the nearby South Downs with the sea cliffs and the fresh breeze on the one side and the ancient sheep pastures on the other.

Why they chose this property

There is a huge sense of history at Pekes, an ancient Wealden hall house built before 1450 with quite a few of its old features left in place. Eva's grandfather Terence Bourke bought it in 1908, and little has changed since his day except that facilities, comfort and warmth has been added. Mounts View is cosy, private and snug, with views over the parkland, and is very popular with family and Celebration groups. Pekes has elegant gardens, parkland, lovely trees and wonderful views over the landscape.

What makes this property unique

Timelessness, peace, gardens, country walks, the sniff of the sea, loads of nearby activities and attractions. On-site a shared heated indoor Pool, kiddies' play area, tennis court, shared Jacuzzi & Sauna and lawn games.
