The cottage was absolutely fantastic. Great location in regards being close to all amenities. Quaint characteristics but plenty of space for a large group. The cottage was really high spec and very cean. I would definitely recommend to others, lots to do in Matlock Bath, Abraham Hieghts is a must and great restaurants nearby. It was really easy to organise our trip, Jackie was really helpful and thought of every little touch, including welcome refreshments for us on our arrival. If you are planning a group trip to Matlock Bath I would definitely suggrst Crow Pie Cottage.

Brillant stay at this lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage, very clean and very well-kitted out, great for children lots of games, spacious, great garden. Great location, we planned to drive out of Matlock Bath for activities, but spent the whole weekend in and around the cottage instead. We could eat and drink more in the evening guilt free after burning calories walking up the short but steep hill. We had a fun University reunion over the weekend we were there, I will recommend this cottage to friends and family.

Fantastic cottage with lovely views of Matlock and the surrounding countryside. Well set up for large groups with kids, who loved playing in the garden. Good size lounge and great kitchen diner meant everyone could sit down to eat together.

Further Details:

Crow Pie Cottage is perfect for family reunions, group holidays, hen parties and other celebratory occasions. Situated up the hillside away from the village the cottage enjoys fabulous views yet is only a few minutes walk down to the hustle and bustle of Matlock Bath with its shops, bars and amusements. There is something to suit everyone in Matlock Bath including Cable Cars rising to the summit of The Heights of Abraham and Gulliver's Kingdom - a theme park especially designed for toddlers and children up to the age of around 12 years old.

There are rowing boats to hire on the River Derwent and amusement arcades to while away the hours and maybe win a few pennies!

Each year from the end of August to the end of October we have Matlock Bath Illuminations and firework displays - if you stay at Crow Pie Cottage you will have your own armchair seats for the firework displays as they are let off from the clifftop opposite the property - you will be in a prime location!

The village has welcomed many famous historical visitors including Ruskin and Lord Byron (whose poem etched on a window at the Temple Hotel, still remains).

Nicknamed 'Little Switzerland' by the Victorians, the romantic nature of the village still remains and today Matlock Bath continues to enjoys popularity with a wide range of visitors from far and wide.

Often described as a seaside town without the sea - from the Pavilion at one end of the village right through to the train station at the other end - there is something for everyone - shops selling clothes, novelties, gifts, jewelery, sweets, ice creams and much more line the picturesque 'front' overlooking the beautiful River Derwent across the road.

Close to Matlock Bath are the market towns of Bakewell, Chesterfield, Ashbourne and Buxton - all well worth a visit in their own right.

We are 15 minutes away from Chatsworth House and just 45 minutes away from the UK's premier theme park, Alton Towers.
