The cottage is within 5 minutes walk of a wide range of local facilities including pubs, restaurants and attractions as well as good access to a range of public transport links to Derby, Chesterfield, Sheffield and Manchester.
On the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District, the cottage is in the perfect location for discovering dozens of local attractions including Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Haddon Hall as well as the UK's most popular theme park, Alton Towers (45 minutes by car); the historically important Derwent Valley Mills where Sir Richard Arkwright started the Industrial Revolution an much, much more.
In the winter you can relax by the cosy wood-burning stove in the living area whilst watching Sky TV with movies and sports. In the summer you can take in the sun lazing in the garden and on the patio with BBQ, garden furniture and games.
Take a stroll down into the village where there are so many things to do including a visit to the aquarium, a cable car ride up to the Heights of Abraham, a riverside walk along the Derwent where you can hire rowing boats by the hour.
There is parking for up to four standard sized cars at the cottage, please be aware that the lane up to the cottage is quite steep and narrow. For those guests who prefer not to drive up the lane there is free on-street parking on the lower road which is just a one minute walk away from the cottage.
The location of the cottage and the natural terrain in Matlock Bath makes the property unsuitable for the less mobile. Please ask for further details if you have a particular question.
