About the Owner

Hi, I'm Sonia. I qualified as a solicitor many moons ago. I fell in love with this development as soon as I saw it. I bought the one and only penthouse left in Phase 2. I was really excited to gain possession of it in 2009. I purchased the furniture pack from the developer and went to visit in 2010. Unfortunately, due to pressures at work, I have not been able to use the penthouse as much as I would like to. I have just returned from there and I have decided to share it with as many of you as I can, as it is just too beautiful to keep it locked up and hidden away! Enjoy

Guestbook comments from the owner

'A real gem of a find. Had a really relaxing break and thoroughly enjoyed the sun and delicious food. The jacuzzi is amazing and we will definitely be back again. Thank you' - Mr and Mrs S Karia, Pinner, Middlesex.

' The hospitality of the Turkish people and everybody on the resort is fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for them and I loved every minute. The only thing for me is that I would prefer a more frequent boat service into Gulluk, which I understand is happening from May. Otherwise, this apartment is fab and I felt so refreshed when I returned to the UK. The weather was brilliant for April. I still got a suntan and I can't wait to go back' - Mr B Pate, Barnet, London.

' I would definitely hire a car next time, but it was nice for the first time to explore by foot and boat and just relax on balcony. The apartment is gorgeous, so bright and sunny. Feels like you're in another world. Met some lovely people on the boat to and from Gulluk. Used to go there for dinner a lot.'

Beautiful place and a lovely holiday

  • 4 of 5

My girlfriend and I visited Sonia's apartment for a week at the end of June and we have to say it was one of the loveliest holidays ever!

The apartment is beautifully furnished, clean and crisp and provides everything you need for a short, self-catered stay. The views from the balcony are magnificent (especially at sun-rise if you can manage it!) and the jacuzzi adds a special touch of class.

The resort generally is lovely, very modern and well-run. We found the staff to be extremely helpful in giving lifts to and from the apartment to the boat. There is quite a steep hill and a large number of stairs so this service (all free) was very helpful. There are a number of pools dotted around the complex, including one directly under the apartment which was mostly empty and secluded. The most action was around the main pool, with table tennis and other facilities surrounding it.

We really loved the water-taxi across to Gulluk, which is also a very pleasant little town with a range of nice restaurants and a large supermarket. Be aware that the boat takes 30 minutes and comes and goes throughout the day, so not really a 'pop over to the supermarket to grab some bread' situation. However, there is a small shop just outside the complex which provides basic necessities. Our usual plan was to get the evening boat across to Gulluk, do some shopping for lunch (or dinner) the next day, eat at a restaurant and take the shopping back with us on the later boat at about 10:30. This worked quite well.

Overall the apartment was lovely, the scenery was fantastic and the holiday was amazing. As previously commented on by others, a supermarket on site would be handy, as well as a pool bar/restaurant, which i understand is going to be built during the autumn. However, these slight niggles definitely didn't detract from what was a wonderful holiday.

Thanks Sonia!!

Joel & Jaz x

Owner's Response: Ah thanks Joel and Jaz, it was a pleasure to have you there. Hopefully the planned supermarket / cafe on site will add the 5th star. Hope to welcome you both back again the near future x

Horizon Skywest

  • 5 of 5

We visited Sonia's place at horizon sky and have to say it was the most relaxing break we've ever had. The apartment was first class however it would have been nice to have had some water due to the location and lack of facilities on site. We didn't mind that the beach bar was closed while we were there as our holiday turned out to be the most relaxing we have ever had! If you go as a family, then it is so friendly too as we witnessed families getting together at the main pool area and organising

bbq's and fun nights etc?

breathtaking

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I travelled here as newlyweds for our honeymoon, slightly nervous as we had never been before. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived, the resort was clean and the staff were amazing. Check in was super fast and seamless, the penthouse was beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice!

The serenity of the resort and of gulluk were exactly what we were after. The captain of the boat was friendly. We were very grateful of the drivers on resort as the penthouse was almost at the very top, but that made the views across the bay even more stunning!

The staff (and cats) at the beach bar were very friendly, as were the restaurant owners in gulluk, and the dolmus into bodrum was very easy to catch.

We will return again, and are considering purchasing our own apartment based upon our stay at Sonia's!

Amazing and luxurious stay

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I rented Sonia's apartment for a week in September, the entire resort was so peaceful and quiet (just what we wanted). The apartment has an absolutely stunning view of the peninsula and we enjoyed waking up every day to the breathtaking view. The bar staff and horizon sky resort were very friendly and helpful and the boat is regular and reliable to get into Gulluk. A short boat ride away and there is everything you could need, supermarkets, banks and lovely restaurants overlooking the harbour. We even headed to Bodrem for the day on the Dolomus (minbus) which was also very efficient, if not crowded!! Overall, our stay was wonderful, with no complaints, gorgeous pools to choose from and the other couples who stayed in the resort were very friendly too. The resort itself is very hilly and the staff are very good about running you up and down in a golf buggy, but then again they are doable on your own and will keep you fit!

A great holiday, cant't recommend enough : )

Location

From the Owner

I fell in love with the location, the finishing touches and the attention to detail to the show home when I went out in 2007. I had no intention of buying, but I made an emotional decision as it felt 'right' and my instincts have been right. I love everything about it. I spent 5 days there over Easter and made it into the holiday that I was in the mood for this time - a bit of relaxation, some Jacuzzi and sunbathing on the terrace and some sight seeing. I visited the supermarket in Gulluk a couple of times to pick up some fresh fruit - grapefruit, orange, apple, kiwi, pear, pineapple and banana - for my breakfast on the terrace. If you're a toast and tea person, a welcome pack is available on your first day. Or you can pop down to the restaurant for some eggs or a Turkish breakfast.

Facilities

From the Owner

I love the peace and tranquility. You can shut yourself off from the world or if you're feeling sociable, you can mingle with other guests around the pool, restaurant or on the boat to Gulluk. It's so unique and as a single lady, I felt really safe, without ever having to worry about locking the patio doors or my main door. The location of the property allows it to boast one of the best views in the development and it's going to be super stunning when complete. I enjoy getting the dolmush (mini bus) to Bodrum, Milas and Iasos village if I feel like seeing something different. The only thing I would say is that I wish I had gone a bit easy on the bread. Although there are some steps leading to the property, the drivers around the property are always willing to drop you close to it from boat
