Enjoy a relaxing break in this charming spot where you can unwind and soak in the beauty of the French countryside.

You will find restaurants, creperies and cafes in the many towns and villages, all within an easy drive, and a choice of picnic spots beside lakes, rivers and beaches, some as close as 10 mins. away.

Visits can be made to the many traditional market towns nearby, where you can purchase fresh fruit and vegetables on different market days.
However, if preferred, there are supermarkets in Jugon (7 km) and Plelan-Le Petit (5 km) and a large hyper-U in Plancoet, (6 km) away.

Jugon Les Lacs, only a 5 minute drive, is a charming example of a delightful Breton village beside a lake where canoes, pedalos or sailing boats can be hired. There is also an indoor/outdoor swimming pool and a selection of water slides to entertain the family.
It is lovely to watch the fishermen as you enjoy a walk along the lakeside before wandering into the village for a cafe stop.
There is now a WakePark in Dolo ( just outside Jugon) Only 10 minutes by car from La Treunais.

Dinan is well worth a visit. A wonderful old town with its historic buildings and many riverside cafes and restaurants. Market days are fun and its lovely art shops, castle and old port make it a place to visit more than once.

There are always plenty of places to visit by the sea where you can enjoy an abundant choice of cafes and restaurants dotted along the coastline, with varied menus from tasty pizzas to delicious sea food.
On the nearby Brittany coast St. Cast, Dinard and the walled city of St Malo offer days out by the sea or drive west and make a visit to Cap Frehel lighthouse and Erquy.
Inland you have a 20 min. drive to the picturesque hilltop village of Moncontour, a popular tourist attraction.

There are so many possible day trips from the house for those of you wishing to explore further.
Visit the coast of south Brittany or take a drive east to Mont Saint-Michel and the landing beaches.

Many of our visitors simply love to relax in the garden while the children play on the large expanse of grass.
Apple and walnut picking in the autumn from the little orchard is a favourite pastime.
The sun reaches the garden throughout the morning, afternoon and evening and with a box fire and electric radiators for nights in Autumn and Winter, this ensures that even in the colder months you can always feel cosy.

Since the kitchen renovation in 2023, our table tennis, which has provided fun for many families, is now set up in the end room of the property.

If you choose to holiday at La Treunais. - thank you - Simply enjoy this special place and the wonderful diversity that Brittany has to offer.

A fantastic stay at La Treunais
We had a fantastic time at La Treunais. When pulling into the grand entrance, we couldn’t believe we had the whole property to ourselves! Our two young daughters loved exploring the garden every day and we were within easy reach of some beautiful towns.

A dream place in a dreamlike environment
Already the first glance at the mansion is filled with joy for the coming time. Our expectations were exceeded! Our daughter did not want to go home, and asked if we could not stay here forever. It is admirable with which devotion and love this house is furnished. You can only highly recommend this.

Great property with plenty of room
This is a lovely, spacious farmhouse, very much as per the description & photos, and very well equipped. We loved the summer kitchen and made good use of the BBQ. Although the weather wasn't brilliant, we always managed to find some sun not too far away. Dinan, Dinard and St Malo are all within easy reach and we found some fab beaches and seaside locations close by. Andrew was extremely helpful and we felt privileged to have spent all too brief a week here.

A wonderful home to stay in.
La Treaunais was exactly as described in the listing and very clean and well maintained. Plenty of room so you are not on top of each other. Gas bbq was a great addition. The location was perfect for peace and quiet, though only 30 minutes away from St Malo. Dinard and Dinan are also a must to visit. It was easy to book and Andrew was very helpful. It was also nice to meet Isabelle and Paul who welcomed us when we arrived. I have already recommended the house to all my friends on Facebook. We had a wonderful holiday and would have gladly stayed longer than our 2 weeks. I just cannot say enough to give Andrew and his home justice. Thank you so much for letting us stay there Andrew and we will certainly be back. It is our silver anniversary next year (2016), so we are looking at staying for 3 weeks. (If you will have us). It was great to look through the photos of the house being renovated and seeing how much hard work you have put in. We look forward to seeing more in the future. A Phoenix slowly emerging from the ashes. By the way our daughter didn't want us to leave a review, so she could have the house just for us ! Lol.

Living in the Channel Islands, La Treunais has been a great place to spend weekends, half terms and longer holidays exploring Brittany, finding new eating places and planning the next renovation projects.
We love spending time there with family and friends whatever the season, but we open up the house to guests whenever we're not there. Our visitors' book is full of lovely comments and advice for new explorers and it is clear that La Treunais has been a special place for many. We still continue to add to the property albeit a slow labour of love!

Why they chose this property

It seemed too special a place not to save after the great storm of 1989. Having been a working farm, the previous owners helped us plant the trees and apple orchard and gave us a present of the walnut tree that now bears fruit in October.
Being close to St. Malo makes it so easy for the ferry and the area offers something for everyone: beaches close by, Medieval villages, markets, horse riding, river walks, lake with water-sports and indoor pool, golf and a wealth of restaurants throughout the region.
