Balaia golf village is a 4 Star Resort just 25 minutes by car from faro international airport, and is located in the central Algarve between Vilamoura and Albufeira. The resort has: 6 swimming pools, restaurant, health club, gym, tennis courts and 24 hour reception with internet cafe. This 2 bedroom, 1 en-suite, air-conditioned apartment is a superior apartment, overlooking one of the swimming pools with very spacious living/dining room, kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The living room has tv with bbc, channel 5, sky and sky sports, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese channels. There is also a dvd/cd player available for use. The kitchen is fully equipped with 4 ring hob, oven, washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, electric juicer and coffee machine. A safe deposit box is also available payable at reception.

Notes on accommodation: All water and electricity is included. Pets are not permitted. Beach towels are not included. Outside: Luxuriant gardens and vegetation. The village has 6 pools, golf, tennis, croquet, table tennis, children's play area - a kids club in high/peak seasons. The health club provides heated pool, jacuzzi, steam room and gym. There is a shopping terrace with mini-market, newsagents, hairdresser and beautician. Utility Room: Washing machine. Air conditioned, dvd/cd. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided. Linen/towel and maid service normally provided once per full week depending upon length of stay. Services in addition to those provided are available upon request.

Nice apartment in quiet complex

Nice apartment in quiet complex. The Owner met us on arrival at the apartment and provided us with advice on the local area etc. Apartment was clean & tidy and nicely furnished with decent balcony which was not too overlooked. The Owner met us again to return damage deposit before our departure. The apartment is close to one of the pools with cafe bar and a small playground adjacent. Our two boys (12 and 7) enjoyed playing in the pool most days. We had a few days out including a trip to Zoomarine (very busy and not cheap but a good day out), and a ride on the Dreamwave boat from Albufeira marina. A few restaurants within walking distance, and lots if you are prepared to walk that bit further. We ate at the restaurant on the beach which was a short walk from the apartment - the restaurant was nice and seemed to be where the locals ate. Restuarant Martins is close & quite nice - turn right out of the complex and up the road, but would not recommend the the Italian across the road! Jardim Rustico at the top of the old strip was nice. Would also recommend Bistro in the Old Town just up from the Square and a new restaurant (opened two weeks when we went) called Olympique which we think will end up as one of the top restuarants in the resort. The evening entertainment in the square in the old town was also good and the boys enjoyed the Segway/quad bikes on a couple of occasions. We hired a car from the airport and used for supermarket trips and days out. In the evening taxis were not too expensive into the old town but had to wait a while sometimes.

Balaia is situated near the coast. The apartment is just a 15 minutes, walking,down to the Marie Luisa beach. The beach has bar facilities and good food. (particularly fish). Marie Luisa is not really suitable for those with mobility problems; Olhos d'Agua, a traditional fishing village where fishermen still tend their nets is close by.

Balaia reception is open 24 hours a day. In here you may get information, book excursions, car hire or taxis, plus golf course visits and a range of other services.

there is a 24 hour reception and security service; safety deposit boxes can be hired at reception (we strongly recommend guests to use these for all monies/valuables, etc) - we cannot be held responsible for any accidents, losses, personal or otherwise. There is a terrace next to the main entrance offering a mini-market, newsagents etc; other local shops, restaurants are all within easy walking distance. Vilamoura marina, deep-sea fishing, etc. Is only a short drive or bus ride away as is the new Albufeira marina.

Balaia is ideally positioned for short excursions to the fishing beach at Olhos de Agua and into old Albufeira town, or for excursions along the attractive Algarve coast to Lagos, Loule, Portimao, or Vilamoura with it’s attractive marina and surrounding golf courses. Also within easy reach are water-parks and a zoo marine-park, both popular with children. To round off your visit, the Algarve shopping mall on the n125 provides a selection of fine shops in a very Portuguese style including a multi-screen cinema and ten pin bowling.
