“Wonderful family home in a beautiful part of the world”

The complex on which the house was located was well equipped too and being gated we were happy to let the older girls go out on the bikes, thoughtfully provided by Jose and Sam. We all enjoyed playing football on the 5 aside pitch and the odd game of tennis when it wasn't too hot!

This region of Portugal is refreshingly authentic with unspoilt countryside, historic towns, culture and friendly people. The hosts left great info and tips on where to go and what to see, like towns, markets, festivals historical/cultural attractions, architecture. And very easy to get around (great roads).

The house is very spacious and relaxing. It is right next to all the amenities. We really liked Eposende as it has all you need and a nice atmosphere. Having the beach so close is also a bonus. Thanks so much for a great week.

perfect house in a very pleasant region

It's a real family house, very well equipped and clean. Everything is there. As the house is in a gated small community it is a very safe place as well. The outside swimming pool was just a short walk away and well maintained. We visited the towns in the region. Everybody was very friendly and helpfull to us.

The owners left very good instructions and advise where to go and shop. Also the owners were very helpfull indeed when we needed to stay a bit longer.

Certainly a house to revisit.

spacious, modern, wonderful location

We had a fantastic stay in this huge, beautifully decorated and equipped home from home. With four adults and three children aged 14, 7 & 3 we had acres of space, plentiful bathrooms and everything we needed for a perfect family holiday. The pool, tennis courts and football pitch were well used and we loved the location - great beaches, beautiful countryside and historical towns. Both grown ups and kids didn't want to leave! We loved it so much we're hoping to go back again next year! Thank you Sam, Jose, Emelia and Alexander!

From the Owner

We love the Costa Verde for its unspoilt beauty and lack of crowds. From the house you can see both mountains and the Atlantic sea - the setting is spectacular. The house is very spacious at approx 300m2 with over 150m2 of private garden, all set in a peaceful and secure gated community, with access to the swimming pool, tennis court, football court, children's playground and communal gardens. It is incredibly accessible, being only 35 mins' drive from Porto's international airport.

Nearest Airport : Porto Airport at 56 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : A28 at 3 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Praia carruagem at 1.6 Kilometres

Historic Porto, a lively mercantile city with a Unesco-protected old town.

One mile to the nearest beach which is a pebble beach.

The nearest sandy beaches can be found at Esposende (great kite surfing beaches here) or towards Viana do Castelo. The area is also a very popular windsurfing destination.


Porto's international airport is 35 mins' drive away.

Santander (ferry from Portsmouth or Plymouth) is 6/7 hours' drive away. If you decide to travel via ferry and use 'Brittany Ferries' please quote "S87685" to receive a 10% discount.

Car hire is highly recommended as local public transport is very patchy!


Nearest village is Belinho, less than 1km away - nearest shop is 500m away. Nearest cafe is by the entrance to the complex.

Esposende is about 8km away - a lovely little town, which has most of the facilities you will need, including some great restaurants and an indoor pool.

Viana do Castelo is 15km away - a beautiful town that is well worth a visit.

Further Details:

The shop that is 500m from the house sells an excellent range of items which will keep you going til you can get to the nearest supermarket - Continente in Esposende (a 15 minute drive away).

Supermarkets: There is a 'Continente' (Modelo), an 'Intermarche' supermarket and a 'E'Leclerc' supermarket about 10km away.

There is an ATM in Belinho (less than 1km away) and Esposende has branches of all the main Portuguese banks as well as a branch of Barclays. Plenty of options for restaurants and local shops close by - Pizzaria Monica is a very short drive away on the main road and there are some great places in Esposende, Braga, Viana and Guimaraes. Please ask us for our restaurant list at time of booking.

Having young children ourselves, we know how challenging overseas holidays can be - so we have done our best to make the house as family-friendly as possible. We provide toys, games, books, a buggy, car seats, high chair (booster seat) and even a toddler toilet seat and a potty!
