Lovely long weekend stay
Lovely, extremely clean property which sermed newly refurbished property. In my opinion, the common areas are more suited to 4 adults rather then 6 as the dining table was too small and there was only one three seater settee restrictioning comfortable seating for six adults. Small adjustment in this would make the property perfect. The host was extremely responsive as the heating was remotely controlled and we had to disturb her a few times to turn it up.

Great for Dragon Ride
I stayed here with a group of fellow cyclists taking part in the Dragon Ride 2019. It was picked for the closeness to the start 4 miles there and back. The house is a tardis looks small from the outside, but plenty big enough for 6 of us for the 3 days. Gerry passed on all details, we would stay again but likely to be a bigger group so need something bigger otherwise we would have booked now. Close to Brecons in Port TALBOT.

Just on the outskirts of the Town there is a Cinema and many well known restaurants. Aberavon seafront is a 10 minute car drive away and the popular family day out at Margam Country Park is also a 10 minute drive. The property is ideally situated if you are looking to explore South & West Wales benefiting from being located between both Cardiff to the East and Swansea and the Gower to the West. There is also a main bus station at Port Talbot which services both Swansea, Cardiff. Alternatlively, there is so much to keep you busy during a visit to Afan Forest Park. The fantastic landscape offers lots of opportunities to get out and experience nature. There are excellent mountain biking, cycling and walking trails for visitors to enjoy.
Nowhere else in Wales is there such a richness and diversity of waterfalls within such a small area as can be found in the Vale of Neath, Brown Signed from M4 Junction 43 or over 400 years, this famous waterfall provided the energy to drive the wheels of industry, from the manufacture of copper in 1584 to the later tinplate works. Today, the waterwheel is the largest currently used in Europe to generate electricity which makes Aberdulais Falls self-sufficient in environmentally-friendly energy.

What makes this property unique

Port Talbot is a town and community in the county borough of Neath Port Talbot, Wales. It is 7 miles to the east of Swansea across the Swansea Bay, It is best known for Port Talbot Steelworks, one of biggest in the world, which employs an estimated 10% of the town's population. However, there is much more to Port Talbot than is thought. Just a stones throw from Aberavon Beach, also known as Aberavon Sands, is a three-mile stretch of sandy beach on the north-eastern edge of Swansea Bay in Port Talbot, Wales. With its high breaker waves, it is popular with surfers. Aberavon Beach was awarded Blue Flag status in December 2007 and features in the Good Beach Guide published by the Marine Conservation Society. 10 minutes In the opposite direction is Margam Country Park , a country park estate in Wales, of around 850 acres. It is situated in Margam, about 2 miles from Port Talbot in south Wales. It. Situated within the park are three notable buildings: Margam Abbey, a Cistercian monastery; Margam Castle, a neo-Gothic country house that was once the seat of the Mansel Talbot family; and the 18th-century Orangery.
Cycling
Cycling is a great way of seeing the countryside and getting some exercise at the same time. You can cycle along the promenade, and if you keep going you can ride all the way to Mumbles on the Gower!
The Afan Forest Park’s low level cycle route ‘Y Rheilffordd’ (meaning ‘Railway’ in English), which runs along the base of the Valley, is very popular. This is a great trail for the family with picnic and refreshment stops along the trail, which is 36km in total.
Quad Biking is available here
The National Showcaves Centre for Wales is situated within the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park, and is a fascinating insight into the natural phenomena of cave formation. The caves at Dan yr Ogof are made of carboniferous limestone, formed some 315 million years ago.
