Apartment in San Juan de Capistrano, Nerja, Costa del Sol, Spain - Sleeps 4. Refurbished To Very High Standard. Peaceful Yet Close To All Amenities

Our 2 bedroom apartment is reached via gently sloping steps or grass area. There are a few steps leading to a locked gate which opens onto a small garden area with citrus trees (which you are welcome to pick during the season). There are 7 more steps onto a recently renovated large tiled terrace (Feb 2012). The terrace has outstanding views of Nerja and the Mediterranean sea. You enter the Apartment through bi-fold doors, these can be fully opened to maximize the views. The kitchen/living area is on a split level. The living room has been newly furnished and is modern and airy. The kitchen has been fitted to a modern standard with all high spec appliances. San Juan is a complex with a large communal swimming pool, including a children's pool and play area. There are also cafes, bars, restaurants, and a small supermarket. These amenities are 200m from the apartment. Also from here runs a very reliable hourly bus service into the town. Our Spanish home, is just that, a second home. We now have free WiFi.

About the Owner

We live in Hampshire and have been going to southern Spain for a number of years,with the idea of one day buying a property. 6 years ago we discovered Nerja and had no need to look any further. Nerja was it. Last year we were in the fortunate position to be able to buy number 29. The complex of San Juan de Capistrano was in the perfect area with pools, restaurants, sea and mountain views. It needed some renovation and we have enjoyed making it our second home. We have grown up children and as we are heading towards retirement look forward to spending much more time there.

Fabulous sea facing apartment

The view from both inside and outside the apartment is quite breath taking. The garden and terrace fulfilled all our needs. The modern kitchen is surprisingly spacious and all white goods are integrated, which became especially useful over our stay which covered the Christmas period. Everything was there that we needed whether it was TV, music, DVD's or even candles. Will definitely want to go there again.

Two very happy holiday makers

Not quite finished our stay, but we have loved every minute, the apartment is brilliant with everything thought of including wi-fI! Private terrace to watch the sun come up/go down with the the smell of jasmine wafting by. Peaceful location with a great pool, shop etc and only a euro to get to town, we have loved every minute, which was helped with a very informative visitors pack and instructions for all of the appliances, cannot believe how lucky we have been in our choice

The Perfect Holiday!

What a perfect holiday we had at this beautiful home from home.

Although technically it probably has to be called an apartment - it's not really - it's a small and perfectly formed little house!

Sitting on the terrace in the morning with my tea looking out to sea surrounded by peace and tranquillity was the best part of my day.

Shortie (the small kid) had a great time throwing a ball about in the garden at "quiet" time and the teen lounged around on the sun beds reading and snoozing. "Him indoors" liked the terrace at dusk looking out to sea.

In the evening you couldn't do better than to stroll down to KK's bar and curry house for a meal or just a couple of drinks and chat with Karen and Kim. Kim makes THE best pilau rice EVER!

A very happy family that will definitely return to this apartment from heaven.

Nerja Apartment

This trip was our 2nd time in Nerja and was fantastic, this particular property ticked every box for a family of four.

Upon arrival it was apparent that the apartment was very well maintained and in excellent order and is exactly as it is described in the blurb. The 1st thing you notice as you have dropped your bags and turn to walk back out onto the terrace is the stunning view, it is a view I will never get tired of!! We would sit either last thing in the afternoon with a cold drink or 1st thing in the morning with a coffee

and just sit and stare at the view, that in itself was relaxing and just eased the suburban stress from your shoulders.

San Juan Capistrano is a lovely area and very quiet, the pool area has a few bars and restaurants of which we would recommend

KK's Bar and Balti, there is a wide range of food to choose from and it is all wonderfully prepared by Kim (He is a traditionally trained balti chef), they also show all of the football if you are interested!!

If you venture down into Nerja Town (Recommended), you will find a host of traditional bars and restaurants (No music bars apart from an area outside of the old town called Tuti Frutti) our favorite's are the Barillas Bar, Little Italy and Pinochio's, there are also a host of ice cream shops and stall's....mmmmmm.

if you are looking for a real taste of Spain and a relaxing holiday, then Nerja is for you.

superb apartment

Superb apartment, beautiful gardens terrace balcony and interior, furnished to high standard high class well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Very good complex and communal pool area with very good food in complex restaurants. Good bus service into nerja town however we usually walked both there and back. The caves nearby well worth a visit. We will definitely revisit

Location

From the Owner

We bought this property primarily because of the stunning sea views. Our home is set in lovely peaceful gardens and benefits from being semi detached. San Juan is built in the style of an attractive Spanish white village. Nerja is great whether it's a beach/pool type holiday, or for the cultural towns of Granada, Cordoba and Seville. Malaga airport being less than an hours easy drive. We have been holidaying in the area for a month a year for 5 years now, falling in love with it because although it has all of the amenities you could want for a holiday, it still remains a small Spanish town. There are all of the tourist stuff ,however there are also smaller beaches and cobbled alleys away from the bustle.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Malaga at 50 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : E15 at 4 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Burriana and Playzo at 2 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

Nerja is wonderful because to the west is the "laid back" safe Playazo beach,within the town there are a number of sandy coves, and to the east the "buzzy" Burriana beach where there is a diving school. All within a 10 minute drive, or 20 minute down hill walk.

Travel:

Malaga Airport is approx 60 km along an excellent motorway taking about 45 minutes. There is a half hourly shuttle bus from the airport to Malaga bus station and then connecting to the Nerja bus.(I am told by my sister that this is amazingly cheap and easy to do).

Distances:

The centre of Nerja is about a 6 minutes drive or 25minutes walk. To taxi back is 7 euros.

Nerja caves at Maro are just 5 minutes away.

Frigilliana is a beautiful white village up in the mountains behind Nerja. About 10 minute drive.

Almunecar, of Laurie Lee fame, is a 20 minutes drive. With it's busy markets and beach restaurants.

Granada with the amazing Alhambra Palace is an hour and half drive away (nearly all motorway now).

Cordoba and Seville, each about two and a half drive.

Further Details:

Nerja is a beautiful Spanish town, with it's dramatic mountains behind, and the blue Mediterranean seas in front. Quaint alleyways, vibrant shopping streets, with bars, cafes and some excellent restaurants. Banks and supermarkets are all here. Or have a coffee on the Balcon de Europa, and just watch the world go by.

San Juan de Capistrano is built in the style of a white Moorish village. With it's attractive gardens and alleyways. The complex boasts a large communal pool (open March to October) with life guards in attendance, children's pool, bars and restaurants and a small supermarket.
