About the property

Perton Cottage is a beautiful grade II listed period cottage in the heart of Chipping Campden, with all its pubs, restaurants and shops within just a couple of minutes walk.

You can curl up in front of the log fire after a day spent exploring the Cotswolds or relax in the secluded cottage garden. The sitting room has an open log fire, exposed beams and original flag stone floors. There is a large two seater sofa and two comfy armchairs as well as a large television with dvd player, radio/cd player and iPod docking station with a selection of dvd's and cd's left for your enjoyment. There is full gas central heating installed to make sure the cottage is always warm. There is a well equipped kitchen with granite work surfaces, American style fridge freezer, oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave. There is also a farmhouse table in the kitchen, which seats four comfortably. The back door leads to a small patio area with table and chairs, there is a flight of stone steps with handrail that lead to the garden path which wends its way through the well stocked borders to a secluded and peaceful patio area at the end of the garden. There is a large table and chairs and parasol if required, where you can relax and unwind. Back inside a wooden staircase rises out of the sitting room with exposed beams all around. There is a first floor bedroom with double bed, wardrobe, television, hairdryer, chest of drawers and bedside tables with lamps, so plenty of storage space. There is a comfy window seat where you can watch the world go by down below. Off the landing there is a fully fitted bathroom with bath and shower over, wc and small basin. The staircase to the top floor is through an old wooden door on the first floor landing and has a large bedroom with vaulted ceiling, stunning chandelier and twin beds which can be zip locked together to make it into a super kingsize six foot bed. There is a large wardrobe, chest of drawers and comfy tub chair to relax in. The window gives views across to the church at the front and the garden to the rear. There is a fully fitted en suite shower room with powerful shower, sink and wc.

A starter pack of logs will be provided for winter guests.

Now entering our third year it has been wonderful to welcome guests back for their third visit.

There is parking on the road (no restrictions or payment required). Always easy to find a space close to the cottage.

About Becky

I live in Stratford upon Avon so take personal responsibility for cleaning the cottage and making sure that it is all in perfect order for every guest.

Becky purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Becky chose Chipping Campden

I have copied here one of the reviews left by a guest who stayed in February 2017 and I think this says it all

"We really enjoyed our stay at Perton Cottage, despite the cold weather! Our holiday was in late Feb, it was only 4 degrees outside when we arrived but the cottage was lovely and warm (the heating system is very efficient!) The cottage was well appointed and spotless. Both bedrooms are a good size. Becky had thought of everything....including a lovely homemade cake left for guests. The location is perfect, two mins walk and you're on the high street....we were spoilt for choice on the numerous high quality restaurants/pubs....and no driving required! Chipping Campden is a picture postcard Cotswold town, all the buildings are in keeping with the charming historic architecture. A walk up Dover's Hill (from the town) is highly recommended for panoramic views across the adjoining counties. Thank you for a lovely stay."

The car stayed parked and we had a fabulous long weekend.

We felt instantly at ease in Perton Cottage - there's something very homely about it. Chipping Campden has everything we were looking for all in walking distance. Good restaurant (Michael's) and pub food (The Eight Bells), cafe (Huxleys) and walking (Dovers Hill and to Broad Campden, beyond and back via The Bakers Arms). The weather was perfect too! Highly recommended.

Fantastic cottage, perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Becky's lovely cottage, and are dreaming of coming back already. The location is superb, right on the main street and once we found it (the door sign is subtle) we fell in love. Cute, cozy, and full of character. I'm normally quite picky with homestays, and this was everything I'd hoped for, and a little bit more.

The kitchen was supplied with cookware, allowing us to fashion our own breakfasts, and there is a grocery just down the street. It was drizzly, so we weren't able to enjoy the backyard landscaping as much as I'd like, but it's also lovely.

We had a bit of trouble finding it - partly due to our own inexperience with un-numbered addresses and lack of landmarks, but Becky stepped in and led us right to it.

Thanks again for such a lovely stay!

Charming and Comfortable

  • 4 of 5

Well located Cotswold cottage with lovely rear garden. Cottage itself was clean and well appointed. Host was easy to communicate with. We enjoyed the welcoming touches - cake on the table and milk in the fridge on arrival. Would happily recommend and would stay again.

Wonderful cottage in the Cotswolds

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed four nights in this charming cottage, which is excellently located in Chipping Campden. The cottage had everything we needed and was a perfect base for exploring the local area. Becky recommended some of the local eateries and we enjoyed lovely meals in all of them. We would definitely recommend the cottage as a great place to stay.

Car: necessary

For many visitors, Chipping Campden is the quintessential Cotswold town. It has a variety of building styles that have survived from all ages. Chipping Campden has become known for its unusual and attractive High Street, said to be the most beautiful village street now left on the island. The High Street is long and broad, and is flanked on either side by an almost unbroken single terrace, made up of many different architectural styles. As the name suggests Chipping Campden was one of the most important of the medieval wool towns and famous throughout Europe. There are several famous gardens within 15 minutes car journey of Chipping Campden including Hidcote Manor, Snowshill Manor, Bourton House, Sezincote, Hidcote Manor, Kiftsgate Court and Batsford Arboretum. Also within a short drive is Shakespeare's Stratford Upon Avon as well as Warwick Castle.
