Apartment in Quinta do Lago, Central Algarve, Portugal - "We had a Wonderful Holiday; The Apartment is so well Equipped and Perfectly Located ..."

The Quinta do Lago estate, one of the finest in Europe, occupies an area of about 30 sq kilometres, set amongst pines and beautiful landscaped gardens. Victory Village is an exclusive development, closest to the beach of all the Quinta resorts. Its apartments are set in a spacious garden with a large pool and separate pool for young children. A lifeguard is on duty during the summer season, and a bar serves snacks and lunches. Victory Village has its own tennis courts and good car parking, a management office, 24hr security and wi-fi. Our apartment is one of the largest 1-bedroom apartments in Victory Village and is set on two floors. The main living room, kitchen and dining area are on the upper floor and steps lead down to the master bedroom suite on the lower floor. There is a bathroom on the upper floor as well as the en-suite facilities on the lower floor. The fully equipped kitchen has been recently completely renovated. And on each floor there is a terrace of about 10sq metres.

We have had an apartment in Quints do Lago for many years, but, with retirement in mind, we recently bought a house here. Our friends and family have always enjoyed their visits, whether in the school holidays or, for couples, the peaceful, romantic, times of year, when the UK is dull and gray.

Why John Harris chose Almancil area

We have known the area for long time, but we are also familiar with many, if not most, of the main European holiday destinations. In our opinion there is nothing to compare with Quinta do Lago.

The Algarve weather is ideal - usually warm enough to eat outside even in the winter months, yet not oppressively hot in summer.

The Portuguese people are welcoming and friendly and in terms of value-for-money this area is unbeatable.

But even the Algarve has its upmarket and down-market regions. Quints do Lago is without doubt the most pleasant, peaceful and serene estate in all Portugal.

What makes this apartment unique

Our apartment, and its location within the Quinta estate offers everything the discerning holidaymaker might need.

For the sporting enthusiast everything is on hand. There are now four championship golf courses within 5 minutes drive. There are tennis courts locally and a tennis academy within walking distance on the estate. There are watersports both on the lake in the estate and at the nearby marinas. And the beach is a beautiful uncrowded stretch of sand, with walking distance of the apartment but far enough from the town to be virtually a private facility.

There seem to be more restaurants, of all tastes and to suit all pockets, than in most major cities.

Outside: Two private terraces, each of about 10 sq m, with table and 4 chairs at the upper level and 2 sun-beds at the lower level. Extensive and beautiful gardens which can be accessed directly from the apartment. There is a lovely large swimming pool, with lifeguard in season, and a separate pool for young children. The pool surround has plentiful loungers and umbrellas and the bar serves snacks, breakfast and lunch. Victory Village has its own gated entrance and 24 hour security. Car parking for one vehicle is included. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels (including beach towels) are provided. Maid service is provided at the start of each stay and again mid-week, when the towels are changed. Bed linen is changed weekly.

Excellent accommodation in Quinta do lago

Had a fantastic week in this beautiful apartment! Came back again this year after two weeks last year. Very spacious modern with everything we needed. Patio and balcony so loads of outdoor space to. Victory village is such a lovely quiet and safe place with beautiful pool and only minutes walk to the most amazing beach. The owner john was a pleasure to deal with so helpful and he has a really beautiful place to rent. Highly recommend this apartment we we definitely be back again we just love it . Orla -Ireland

Very comfortable and spacious for two

Very comfortable and cared for apartment in a peaceful and relaxing situation very close to the beautiful Rio Formosa. We tend to eat out every evening so didn't really use the kitchen very much but plenty of utensils in the event you wanted to self cater. Will definitely aim to return next year.

Spacious , sunny in a great location .

A fabulous stay in this very spacious, bright apartment, which is spotlessly clean . Sun all day on the balcony and terrace , with lovely views of the golf course. A great open plan kitchen with very comfortable living area . There is plenty of space and the apartment feels very airy . There is more than enough storage in the large bedroom , with a comfy large bed . We enjoy the 10 min walk to the beach and there are plenty of excellent restaurants really near by . The pool area is very clean with a very handy bar, and great snacks for lunch . There is always plenty of sun beds and the gardens are very well maintained . For those of need of a rest and relaxation in tranquil and beautiful settings we would highly recommend ! ! We have stayed many times . And will return !

Apartment in super location with large balcony that gets the sun all morning and in to the afternoon until about 3pm. Fantastic pool with plenty of sun beds and a really lovely cafe serving great food. Large one bed apartment which is well furnished. Superb restaurants near by.

Excellent property and location

Very spacious, comfortable and well equipped apartment. Very safe and secure , excellent pool area with bar and restaurant. Within walking distance of fabulous beach. Golf courses and restaurants close by . We had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday in this apartment. Owner very helpful . Clean and well maintained , no hesitation in recommending this property.

The long sandy beach is a 5-minute walk from Victory Village and set amongst the dunes of the Ria Formosa. In Portugal there are no private beaches, but Victory Village has a concession with umbrellas and loungers to rent at discounted prices. The beach is reached across a spectacular wooden bridge, with the world famous Gigi’s fish restaurant at the far end.

Even in the high season the beach is clean and un-crowded, and has consistently been awarded the blue ribbon award for cleanliness.


The nearest airport is Faro, which is about 20 minutes away by car. For those wishing to get away from it all a hire car is not essential, although a bicycle would be useful within the Quinta Estate. But there are many local attractions, including scores of inexpensive (and very good) restaurants in the nearby villages, so a car is a sensible option for most.


The nearest town in Almancil which is about 5 km away. The cities of Loulé and Faro are both about 10 km away. From Faro, boat trips are available to the islands of the Ria Formosa. Further afield the old Algarve capital of Silves, Portimao, Lagos and Sagres are all worth a visit and are accessible within a hour. The magnificant city of Seville is only 2 hours away and Lisbon is three hours by car, 3½ hours by train.

2 Shopping centres with boutiques, restaurants, and supermarket within the Quinta estate. Post Office, Bank with ATM and a smaller supermarket/newsagent/ snack bar about 1 km from the apartment.

Readily available, including Margarida who has looked after our grandchildren on several visits.


The Ria Formosa Natural Park (300 metres away) is an idyllic area for walking and an important sanctuary for bird watching.

Changeover Day:
Normal Changeover is on a Saturday. Arrival is after 4:00pm and departure by 10:00am., Other changeover days may be possible, especially outside the peak season - please enquire.

Notes on prices:
Definitive prices are set in £Stg, euros are also welcome, at the prevailing exchange rate.A deposit of €200 is taken on arrival against breakages. It will be refunded on departure, subject to breakages.

Linen, including beach towels, is provided. Towels are changed twice weekly. The apartment is fully cleaned between guests and mid-stay for 1 week stays. For those staying more than 7 nights, towels and bed linen are changed weekly.

Pay by bank transfer.. 20% deposit to book, balance 8 weeks before arrival.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
