Apartment in Marina Park, Lagos, Algarve, Portugal - Suitable For Families and couples To Enjoy A lovely Holiday

A modern, well equipped, fully air conditioned apartment located on the first floor, with access via lift and stairs. Situated in a well kept landscaped private complex. The apartment enjoys a large south west facing balcony with sun blinds, and is equipped with new table and chairs and sun loungers. The apartment is close to the communal swimming pools with a bar and restaurant serving a variety menu. There is also a play park and two full sized tennis courts. The apartment has the use of a secure underground car parking space. It is a 5min walk to the beautiful marina with bars, restaurants and shops, 10 min walk to the old town and a 10 min walk to the long sandy Meia Praia beach. For the golfers there are several excellent courses within a 5-10 min drive. The complex benefits from 24hr security.

Due to new regulations in Portugal all holiday homes have to have an accredited government licence called a alojamento local A/L for short which is the number above, this means that my property has been assessed by the Portuguese tourist board to make sure it is safe and fit for purpose, if you go to an apartment or villa now in Portugal without this licence you will not be insured in the property.

I bought the property for the wonderful marina, stunning beaches and the relaxed atmosphere around the resort. With everything within walking distance and over 300 days a year sunshine its a great place to be,and with easy access and ample flights from the uk its easily accessible.

What makes this apartment unique

Lagos is an old historical city in the western algarve, it is a mixture of old and new from its quaint cobbled streets to the modern marina with all its restaurants and bars.

In Lagos there is something for everyone, for the cultured there is the castle the museums, slave market and numerous churches, for the sun worshipper there is the beautiful beaches of meia praia and porto do mos with there stunning goldern sand and the spectacular rock formation on the porto do mos beach.

For the young at heart there are the bars and music venues. Why not visit the fish market which also sell fresh veg and bread the smells are wonderful, you will love everything Lagos

Notes on accommodation: We do request that guests who wish to smoke only do this on balcony with ashtray provided. Long winter lets welcome The complex is set in well maintained gardens, with many native trees shrubs and plants, there is a water feature running through the gardens, the 30 metre swimming pool and children's pool are set amongst ample free sunshades and sun loungers. There are 2 tennis courts provided, with a children's play area also available. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Apartment will be serviced before you arrive and when you leave. All bed linen and towels (not beach towels) are provided. Bedding is changed weekly and towels twice a week. Our apartment is fully managed to assist you with any queries. Other: Balcony has new table and chairs and sun loungers with cushions and small plants along edge of balcony. Has storage space for beach equipment. We have just had the internet/wifi installed for guests use.

Great Family Holiday 😎

We are a family of 4 (kids aged 11)

Great communication from the owner, Ray, prompt to respond to any queries. Much appreciated.

The apartment is a lot larger than it appears on the photos and the balcony is huge. Everywhere was very clean, including all the bedding & towells.

We loved the pool area. It was well kept with plenty of sun beds which cannot be reserved for the day with towells. We thought this was a great idea. Always got a bed the 14 days we were there whatever the time we went to the pool.

It is a 10 minute walk down to the marina and then a further 10 minutes across the footbridge into Lagos. Lots going on at the marina and Lagos town is great to explore with loads of restaurants & cafes.

We had a lovely family holiday & would recommend Rays apartment.

Lovely apartment, pool and beach

The apartment was great and exactly as shown. Our stay was slightly spoiled by the location. We had opted not to hire a car as the description states 5 min walk to the marina and 10 minute walk to the beach. In reality the beach is nearly 1.5miles away and takes about half an hour while the marina is a 10/15 walk. These distances seem worse on the way back as the complex is on top of a hill! The old town is wonderful but again a similar distance to the beach. This did have the option of a heap taxi ride home though!

On balance a lovely place but you need a car especially with young children, unless of course you all enjoy walking!!

Car: not necessary


By foot it is approx 10 minute walk to the lovely sandy Maia Praia beach.

there are other beautiful beaches around Lagos, some with the typical rock formations that the Algarve is famous for.


Faro airport is 75 kilometers away.

Train station is 1 kilometer from apartment with services from Faro.

You can hire a car, from many car hire companies at the airport.

Shuttle buses run from the airport to the resort.

Car hire is not essential as all facilities are within reasonable walking distance in Lagos. Taxis are plentiful, reliable and reasonable priced around the area.


Lagos Zoo is well worth a visit with the children. A few Km outside Lagos there are 2 large water parks easily accessible by car or bookable as an excursion.

the town of Portimao 16km approx offers a chance for major shopping with hypermarkets catering for all. Further west from Lagos is the famous Worlds End where famous Portuguese explorers set off to discover new lands.

Further Details:

There are 2 shops on the complex for your basic needs, a large supermarket is about a 10 minute walk, and by car a 2 minute drive.

Just a short stroll down the hill you reach the marina, where you will find restaurants bars and bistros all set around the tranquil marina, or you could walk across the bridge into Lagos exploring the old town with all its history, or sip a cup of coffee outside at one of the many bars and cafes just letting the world go by.

Lagos has many beautiful churches which are open to visit. There are many buildings with interesting architecture, including the ancient city walls that surround the old town of Lagos. It has several museums and art galleries to enjoy.

Booking Notes:
Thorough clean before and after each visit, and mid week towel change, electricity, gas and all linen and towels (except beach & pool towels)
Minimum stay 7nights peak time.
For the security of both parties a 25% non refundable deposit when booking the holiday is required. The final balance is due 8 weeks before holiday start date.
For bookings made less than 6 weeks prior to start date, 100% of the non refundable holiday rental is due upon booking.

Changeover Day:
We will try to be as flexible as possible for your individual need with regards to vacating the property, this can be liased through our manager.
