Slipway cottage is extremely well presented, in an amazingly convenient location taking full advantage of its fantastic location and sunny aspect. The open plan kitchen, lounge and dining areas are on the first floor with fold back patio doors onto the deck area. 32" TV and surround sound. Second TV and DVD player in one of the bedrooms. Lots of family board games. Activities include Beach, Swimming, Tennis, Golf, Sailing , Water skiing, Wind/Kite surfing, Surfing, Cycling. Fantastic cliff walks around to Historic Port Isaac, Easy access to moorings, bring your boat and either launch daily or rent a holiday mooring for a week. Fishing trips set sail from the beach daily, catch your own dinner, then cook it on our Webber Kettle Barbecue.

Fantastic Cottage

This is a fantastic cottage, really clean and finished to a high standard.

The location was ideal, just a short walk to the shops and bars with great views over the estuary and Padstow.

I would highly recommend this property and would stay here again.

Summer holiday in Rock

Great property in an even better location. Walkable to everything Rock has to offer, even with two small boys (1 & 4 yrs). Very comfortable accommodation with everything you need included. Private parking to the rear very useful but we always found a space in front of the cottage as well so even easier! The view from the living area and balcony is perfect. The pub at the end of the road is an added bonus. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Cornwall Cottage

We had the most fantastic week staying in Slipway Cottage this summer - it was a holiday to remember. The cottage itself was in beautiful condition, incredibly clean and the owner Jenny was extremely helpful and easily contactable to answer any questions we had in the run up to our holiday. We couldn't believe the idyllic location of the cottage and even though we had our car with us (the parking was also very convenient and easy to use) we didn't use it once as the nearby amenities were more than enough to keep us all entertained for the full week. We spent sunny days down on the beautiful Rock beach, tried our hand at paddle boarding at Camel Ski School and spent evenings either on the beautiful balcony at Slipway Cottage overlooking the estuary or at The Mariners pub, all of which were a mere 5 minutes walk down the road. The house slept all eight of us in exceptional comfort and the boys especially enjoyed using the bikes and BBQ available to use!

We had a holiday made memorable by this wonderful cottage - we have already booked for next year, us and the children can't wait to return to this lovely spot on the Cornish coast.

Perfect getaway from London

I return to 20 Slipway every year without fail, and every year the high quality and location of the cottage never fails to impress me. For anyone who either knows the area well, or wants to explore more of England fantastic coastline, this cottage is the perfect retreat. Stunning estuary views from the cleverly designed upstairs kitchen/living room, with a large deck perfect for drinks in the evening watching the sun go down behind Padstow. The Mariners, which has recently been taken over by Nathan Outlaw, is a personal favourite and is a mere 30 second walk at the end of the road. The Blue Tomato is also a short walk away, fantastic for brunch or coffee after some waterskiing at the Camel Ski School. A quick ferry across to Padstow to cycle the Camel Trail and then for go dinner is also a must, with water taxi's running all night to pick you up and bring you back again. When the surf is up, the 40 minute coastal walk from Rock to Polzeath is great. All in all, the cottage is one of my favourite places to stay and I have spent many happy weeks here since I first started coming down over 20 years ago.

Fantastic!!!!

What can I say this house was everything and more. My husband and I, along with our 4 year old could not have wished for a better place to spend our family holiday. The house was beautifully decorated to a high standard, the kitchen was equipped with everything needed as well as good quality linen and towels. Great balcony with all day and evening sunshine and amazing views of the estuary. The property is situated in a very convenient location with everything on the door step, beach, bars, ferry over to Padstow. The local shops in Rock are a short walk away approx 15-20 mins they have everything you will need. We did our shopping before we left but really we didn't need to. They have an amazing bakery, deli, butchers, fishmongers and a Spar shop nothing like your typical spar it sells absolutly everything you will need for your stay. Rock has some great restuarants and we also made use of the evening water taxi for dinners out in Padstow. Word of warning make sure you pre book your resturants. Highly recommend Rojano's with or without children,fantastic food and excellent service. The allocated parking at the back can be a bit tight if you have a larger vehicle however we were able to park immediately outside of the house for our entire trip with no restrictions. Jenny was extremely helpfull and very accommodating and I would not hesitate in recommending her property. We chose Rock as we had spent many of our own holidays as children here and wanted to share this with our daughter and it did not disappoint. We hope to return next year.

Modern with a really warm welcoming feel... Lovely

This was the first time we visited Cornwall and I'm really pleased with the whole experience and will definitely be coming back. The cottage was lovely, spacious enough for our group of five adults and two kids under two... The beach is on the doorstep literally a few minutes walk and local shops all within walking distance... The view from the balcony was amazing, I will definitely book this cottage again as the owner jenny was extremely helpful and had thought of everything, also the layout of the cottage with the extra bathrooms was so useful and ideal for larger groups as well,absolutly perfect! Thank you for a wonderful experience

Location

From the Owner

Stunning cottage with stunning views across the estuary and a south west facing deck to take advantage of the position. It is about 2 minutes from Rock Sailing club, Camel Water Ski and Rock Sailing School. The famous St Enodoc Golf Club is a 5 min walk away and the ferry crossing to Padstow the same distance. The cottage is filled with light and furnished with guests comfort in mind. The kitchen, living and dining area are all on the first floor, open plan with fold back patio doors onto the deck. There is an excellent wet area at the back of the cottage with locker storage for water-skis, surf boards and golf clubs etc. Direct access from this to the shower room and utility area . There are 2 bikes and a surf canoe that can be used by guests. There is parking for 2 cars.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

1 minute walk to the slipway and the beach. From here you can walk through the dunes all the way to the surf at Daymer bay and Polzeath.

Rock beach is fantastic both in season and out, as there is a limit to parking in Rock the beach never gets really busy even on the hottest of August days. There's always room for beach games.

Travel:

Nearest airport Newquay - 23 miles

Nearest train Bodmin - 12 miles

Distances:

Rock Village shops 10 min walk. Padstow 10 by ferry or 25 min by road. Wadebridge 15 min by car.

Padstow Ferry 5 mins walk, or drive round in 20 mins. Ferries run until midnight in season.

Polzeath 5 min drive or half hour walk along the beach.

Port Isaac 15 min drive.

St Ives 40 mins drive, Newquay 30 mins drive. Flamouth/Penzance 60 mins.

Eden Project 30 mins drive.

There are miles of sandy beaches, coves and dunes to explore and every type of water and land based sport within easy reach. As well as the sailing, water-skiing and fishing trips the is fishing and bird watching. The SW Coast Path passes through and there are stunning headland walks on each side of the estuary. Polzeath with its excellent surfing is a 10 min drive. Not only is St Enodoc Golf Club on the doorstep but Rosearrow, Constantine and many others in easy reach. The area is renowned for its famous restaurants. In Rock, Nathan Outlaw can be found in St Enodocs Hotel, Rick Steins in Padstow and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen in Watergate Bay. The Ferry crossing to Padstow takes 5 mins and runs year round during daylight hours and there is a water taxi for later evenings.
