This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom ground floor apartment is situated in Pueblo el Jardin which is a peaceful, gated community 10 minutes walk from the center of Arroyo de la Miel. There is a large terrace with patio furniture which leads directly into the well-tended, established garden. The apartment has air-conditioning, satellite TV and a fully-equipped kitchen. The shared swimming pool, which is open to residents only, is situated across a quiet road and has a barbecue area. The complex is situated close to Tivoli World amusement park and the cable car to the top of the mountain. Selwo Marina with its dolphinarium is 15 minutes walk away. The main tourist beach at Benalmadena is only 15-20 minutes away on foot. There is a fantastic choice of restaurants, bars and shops all within walking distance.

We bought the property as it was being built because we love the area. The apartment is in a private, residential development close to Arroyo town center. It is also within walking distance of the beach at Benalmadena, but far enough away to escape the thronging tourists during high season. Many of the apartments are occupied long term by Spaniards and other Europeans so everyone is friendly but you will never feel like you are in a tourist development. We also like the fact that we don't need a car. The train line runs along the coast between Malaga and Fuengirola. Buses run inland to beautiful little towns like Benalmadena Pueblo and Mijas. In the summer season a tourist road-train runs between the tourist attractions.
What makes this apartment unique
Our apartment is one of the few in the development to have a bathroom for each bedroom. It is situated in a low-rise block at the edge of the development so has the garden rather than another block in front of it. The terrace leads straight onto the lawned area. The pool area is across the quiet road, behind one of the other blocks, so there is no noise at the apartment. The apartment is managed locally for us by professional property managers who live close by.

Lovely spacious apartment in great location
We were delighted with the apartment on arrival. It was easily found walking from arroyo train station and is in great location for those that enjoy the arroyo area yet also a short walk downhill to the coast. There is a lovely large patio area and communal gardens around. The apartment is very spacious and well equipped with air conditioning and safe built into wall. The communal pool garden area is very quiet and pretty and the pool is large and well maintained. The photos do not do the apartment justice - highly recommended!
This property was exactly as it said on the tin! Keys and instructions arrived a week before our holiday. The property was clean and tidy and equipped with everything needed for a relaxing home-from-home holiday. The TV was tuned into UK programmes.
The owner was very co-operative when we asked to alter the dates of booking due to there being no flights from Exeter on the days we requested. We were also allowed to drop our bags off before 3pm as our flight landed early at Malaga and there was no-one staying there the week before.
The nearest supermarkets are some distance from the apartment. What we did was take the train from Arroyo to Fuengirola where there is a supermarket right next to the station. On arrival back at Arroyo we took a taxi from right outside the station to the apartment for 5 Euros. The trains are very frequent, cheap and VERY reliable.
We've stayed here twice and would happily go back again.

Activity and Interests
Benalmadena beach is 10-15 minutes downhill walk from the apartment. It is a sandy beach with all the usual beach-front resort facilities.
The nearest airport is Malaga which is easily reached by low-cost airlines from many British airports. The apartment is 20 minutes from the airport by road or train. It is a 5 minute walk downhill from Arroyo train station to the apartment, or there is a taxi rank situated right outside the station.
The train runs along the coast with departures every 20 min in either direction, buses run inland very regularly and taxis are readily available. A car is not necessary to enjoy a holiday here.
Arroyo de la Miel is a town with a mainly Spanish population as well as English and other European ex-pats - and the shops reflect this with everything from food shops and newsagents to clothes and shoe shops as well as a range of supermarkets. There are doctors, dentists, pharmacies, hairdressers, beauticians and alternative therapy practitioners. The range of restaurants and bars is excellent and most have menus in English. If you investigate some of the little alleyways between shops you will find typically Spanish squares with tables set outside the bar - perfect to while away an afternoon in the sun with a beer and some tapas, just people-watching. Walking downhill towards the beach takes you into the more obviously tourist area with souvenir shops and beach-front cafes.

Once a booking is agreed, a non-refundable 20% deposit is payable immediately and the balance 6 weeks before departure, by cheque or bank transfer. Keys and directions to the property will be sent to you 10 days before departure.
A £50 key deposit is payable with the balance which will be refunded when the keys are returned and provided the 65 Euro service charge has been left at the apartment.
We aim to be flexible, so you can arrive on any day that is free, but we can only ensure the apartment will be ready after 3pm on your arrival day and request that you leave by 10am on your departure day for the cleaners to make ready for the next guests.
Notes on prices:
The price is per week and includes air conditioning and heating, linen and towels so the only additional cost to you is the 65 Euro service charge.

A cot, high chair and push chair are available to hire, on request. Please ask for details.
A welcome pack can be put into the fridge for your arrival containing milk, water, orange juice, bread, butter, 6 eggs and a bottle of wine. This costs an extra £17.50.

- Outside: The apartment has a large terrace accessible from the patio doors which leads straight out into the well-maintained established garden. There is a table and four chairs and also 2 sun loungers. The shared swimming pool, which is open to residents only, is situated across a quiet road, has a shower/toilet block and a barbecue area with sink for washing up. There is also a padel-tennis court. There is a life guard daily until 5th September, although the pool is open all year - and the whole area has security gates so children are kept in a safe and secure environment. Children are not allowed in the pool area unless they are accompanied by an adult. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen and towels are included with the exception of beach towels. There is a washing machine in the apartment for your use if required.
