Trowan is just five minutes from beautiful St Ives and the house has direct access to the South West coastal path. A peaceful and secluded yet stunning location. A twenty minute coastal countryside walk takes you from the front door to the world famous harbour town of St Ives with its five sandy beaches, restaurants, shops, galleries and bars.

We've spent many happy weeks all over Cornwall and we never tire of coming here. The scenery, the endless places to visit, the walks, the fresh food, the golden beaches, the sea, the waves... We love it - every time we leave, we can't wait to go back.

It was a longstanding multi-generational family dream to have a house overlooking the sea. When we saw Baragwainaith advertised in 2013 we jumped in the car and drove over 300 miles through the night to see it. We weren't disappointed. Whatever the weather, it is always breathtaking. It, like Cornwall, stole our hearts.

We want Baragwainaith to be more than just a holiday house and we constantly strive to go that extra mile in both the service, facilities and home from home touches we offer.

"We booked the holidays impromptu because we needed a break as a family, and Baragwainaith turned out to be the perfect place for us. The cottage is perfectly equipped with everything one needs for holiday comfort, from squishy sofas to audio equipment and a dishwasher. Most importantly, everything was exactly as described and pictured on the Sawdays website, only the original is more lovely than photos can ever be. The views from the garden and the windows are truly stunning. We took our teenage children who had a good time on the St.Ives beach, but even with small children this is a perfectly contained place. The hamlet of Trowan is altogether a wonderful and successful restoration project. We would love to return.”

Baragwainaith offers the perfect blend of being in a beautiful and secluded location yet only 5 minutes from all the restaurants, shops, galleries and beaches of St Ives. Further afield, but not far, you have Marazion (St Michael's Mount), Penzance, Land's end, the stunning Minack theatre, to name but a few. The South west coast past is accessible from the back garden and a stunning walk to Zennor or St Ives awaits - all you need is some wellies or boots and a map. West Cornwall is particularly rich in the number of heritage sites it offers to explore. Or if you prefer exploring of the foodie kind, there are fantastic pubs a short drive away including Hastletown Inn and the award winning Gunnards Head. Car: recommended


A choice of five sandy beaches within five minutes drive or twenty minutes along the coast on foot. Porthmeor - best for surfers and bodyboarders, Porthminster and Porthgwidden - favoured by families, Harbour and Bamaluz - perfect for rock pools and crabbing. Beach equipment available for hire, beachside cafes and bars , pitch and putt, beach bbqs, children's activities and lifeguard cover in peak season


Trowan is secluded so a car is recommended though taxi's from St Ives are very reasonable should you not have a car and if you didn't want to walk. The St Erth to St Ives train line is one of the most famous and scenic in Britain and is a must recommendation.

Hayle - 5 miles

Further Details:

The nearest small supermarket for everyday essentials is the Co-Op on the way into St Ives. A larger Tesco in Carbis Bay should have everything you would need. Further afield there is M&S in Hayle and a Tesco, Sainsburys and Morrison superstores in Penzance about 20 minutes away.
