This listed townhouse sits midway between Falmouth’s busy harbour and its beautiful safe beaches. All the town’s main attractions are within easy walking distance. The house is large and well proportioned with secluded sunny gardens to front and rear. The south facing front garden has a covered veranda and patio area for dining al fresco. Inside, on the ground floor, are two large reception rooms and a large kitchen/dining room, which opens onto a rear courtyard and garden. The first floor has four bedrooms (two with sea views), family bathroom and separate wc. The second floor has a further bedroom with sea views and en suite bathroom. The house will comfortably accommodate two families sharing and is ideally positioned for easy access to beaches, coast path, ferries, shops, pubs, restaurants and arts venues. Hop in the car for south coast gardens, north coast surf beaches and day trips to Eden, Heligan or St Ives.

About Kate Emsden

We are a happy and active family of five who love Cornwall and all that it has to offer. We moved to Falmouth eleven years ago with our three children and we still count ourselves lucky everyday to be here. We fill our spare time with all manner of sporting activities, mostly involving water. Whilst you’re enjoying our house, we’ll be off somewhere in our camper van, probably surfing.

Spacious and stylish house

  • 5 of 5

Very enjoyable stay. Lots of room for two families, excellent facilities and (importantly for the teenagers) good wifi! House was comfortable, clean and attractively decorated. Very short walk down to the town.

Would thoroughly recommend.

A wonderful house!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time, the house had the wow factor. I stayed with my partner, daughter, 2 sisters and their families, 5 kids between us! The house was very big so had plenty of space. The house itself is very tastefully done. Location was perfect 10 mins walk to he town and 15 mins walk to Gyllynvase beach. Falmouth itself is buzzing , good cafes and pubs. Recommend getting the ferry to St Mawes , beautiful little place. Visited St Michaels Mount and Lands End. Lots of lovely places to visit. Thoroughly recommend staying here.

Home from home

Just returned from a wonderful week in Falmouth. The house was lovely - homely and very spacious and well equipped, the photos don't do it justice! Would suit two families sharing. The owner was excellent to deal with and very helpful. There are lots of things to do and see round the area and lots of very good places to eat, totally spoilt for choice, would recommend Gylly beach cafe and Dollys tea rooms. Enjoy!

There are three beautiful safe beaches in Falmouth, Gyllyngvase (lifeguarded), Castle and Swanpool, all ideal for children, with good facilities and all within 10-15 minutes walk. The north coast beaches, about 40 minutes by car, are great for surf and nearly all are lifeguarded. The world renowned sailing waters of the Carrick Roads and Helford River are easily accessible for sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. The coast path is accessible within easy walking distance.

Train – the property is 10 minutes walk from Falmouth Town station on the Truro to Falmouth branch line, which is fed from the London to Penzance main line.

Air – the nearest airport is Newquay, about 30 miles from Falmouth, which is served by flights from a number of UK airports. Car hire is available.

Ports – Falmouth is about 70 miles from Plymouth, which is served by ferries from France and Spain.

Truro 12 miles, Heligan 24 miles, St Ives 26 miles, Newquay 26 miles, Eden Project 30 miles, Minack Theatre 37 miles.

Further Details:

Cornwall is the UK’s very own watersports mecca and Falmouth is a centre for yachting, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, diving and fishing. Surf-based sports thrive on the lifeguarded north coast beaches about 40 minutes by car. Cornwall is also justifiably famous for its stunning gardens and coastal walks and is fast developing a range of spectacular cycling trails. Falmouth is now a renowned centre for the arts, hosting University College Falmouth, several galleries and many events throughout the year.
