To enter, you pass across a large courtyard enlivened by a charming white statue. Elegantly built stairs ascend to the upper floor of the house and to where “Pizzariello’s” front door opens onto its entrance hall. On the left, a spacious dining room is followed by the kitchen and a shaded terrace with superb views of the local countryside - a great ideal venue for al fresco dining. Beyond the dining room, there is a handy study and double bedroom with walk-in closet and a suite bathroom with tub. The bathroom has French windows that access the flat rooftop from which you can reach a small tower, quaintly known as the “meditation room”. To the right of the main hall the generous living room with fireplace leads to a double bedroom with an adjacent bathroom with tub. The corridor then leads to two twin bedrooms, each with en suite bathroom with shower.
This splendidly aristocratic villa was designed in the 17th century. Originally built as the fortified country residence of a local noble, it later became the headquarters of a large agricultural estate. “Pizzariello” or to give it its full name, “Masseria Fortificata di Pizzariello” is near the coast about six miles south of Taranto. This property is strategically placed for unforgettable excursions into the heart of Apulia: Grottaglie, famous for its ceramics, the baroque town of Martina Franca with its music festival and Ostuni and its fabulous Cathedral are just some of the fascinating places within less than an hour’s drive. Guests at “Pizzariello” will have all their needs tended to by the friendly but unobtrusive staff. There is an expert local cook and a maid. The main house is built around a spacious, square courtyard with the living area on the upper floor. There is also a comfortable annexe with a private pool recently restored.

Pizzariello is not only an incredible and historical location. Pizzariello is something more.. is an experience of life in which you will taste the real spirit and flavour of the South of Italy..
WOW is the best description of our week at Pizzariello. It was one of the most incredible villas that our group has ever stayed in. With Anna making us breakfast and then with the help of Antoinetta cleaning every day we felt like royalty. The owner's collection of dishes, ceramics, etc. was incredible. We really hated to leave paradise. One has to see this place to really appreciate its beauty!

We were all overwhelmed with the grandeur of Masseria Pizzariello! It was great. All the rooms in the main house were big and spacious, which meant that our group of 8 people had plenty of room to spread out and relax! The sitting room was large and airy and great for the older members of the group to enjoy some peace and quiet, whilst the younger ones really enjoyed the pool area and the games room. The bedrooms were beautifully furnished and the house had all the necessary items which made for a comfortable stay. It was good to have Anna on site in case we needed anything and she cooked us an amazing Italian meal one evening! Mostly though, it was a real treat to be able to come to such a wonderful house after spending the day at the beach. So much so, we didn't want to leave!! We will definitely visit again.
