Casa Bougainvillea is conveniently situated on the golf course, a 15 minute walk from the Praia de Centiannes beach and a short drive into Carvoeiro. The area is renowned for its stunning beaches, cliff walks, golf courses and a plethora of restaurants and bars. The location means guests can enjoy the best of both worlds - the peaceful and the more spirited. There are restaurants, bars and small convenience stores within walking distance and tennis courts can be hired at Rocha Brava, a short walk away. Meals can be taken on the terrace with a full sun awning and views across the golf course and pre-dinner drinks on the roof terrace watching the sun go down with views across the sea. Sun lovers can use the loungers on the terraces, on the grassed area or by the pool. In cooler months there is a roaring open fire in the lounge. All rooms have super quiet aircon/heater systems. This is an all year round holiday destination perfect for families, golfers, walkers, sun seekers. WI-FI. This property is licensed to let and meets all official requirements as a letting property. This is important not only legally but to ensure guests are living in a safe environment. The resort has a manager and Casa Bougainvillea has its own property manager who can be contacted for advice or in an emergency.

We are a British family with two teenage boys and live in Hertfordshire. We spent 9 years living and travelling in Asia which is why the house has so many Asian artifacts and antiques. When we returned to the UK we missed the sun and bought Casa Bougainvillea as a family home from home as well as a holiday let. The house and location has something for us all. I craved the sun and beaches, the boys wanted year round golf and we wanted a place where we could find peace and tranquility away from our busy UK lives but that also offered a more buzzy area a few minutes drive away for teenagers and for when we have other families staying with us. We have had many fabulous and different holidays at the house depending on the time of year and we hope you will enjoy the place as much as we do.

Why karen swan chose Carvoeiro

We had spent many great holidays in Portugal over the years and decided that having our own home where we could be guaranteed quality and comfortable accommodation would be a good investment. We looked at areas all over the Algarve but decided on Vale de Milho for the following reasons: it is only 45 minutes from the airport; it is surrounded by fabulous beaches with the stunning rock formations for which the area is famous; it is set up for tourists so it is easy to run the property with reliable English speaking staff; it is a restful place yet a short drive to night life, culture, hills and the wilderness of the Western Algarve; it has year round golf, tennis and walking; and the food and wine are great!

What makes this house unique

The golf club offer green discounts to guests. The golf club house is open to all guests for drinks and food and is a perfect spot to watch the golfers and the wildlife. It is not essential to have a car as the beach, restaurants and convenience stores are within walking distance. However, we always hire a car as we like to drive to different beaches and golf courses, fit in a days sightseeing or a drive into the hills. There are also much larger supermarkets out of town and as the house lends itself to entertaining, we often shop and eat on the terrace. One of the highlights is taking pre-dinner drinks on the roof terrace watching the sun dip down behind the sea.

Notes on accommodation: The accommodation is set out on two floors. The front entrance opens into a large hall with 3 bedrooms (4 poster and two twin bedded rooms) and the utility room downstairs. The 4 poster bedroom and one of the twin bedded rooms open onto the pool terrace which is separated by a grassed area. The lounge/dining room is located upstairs to take advantage of the views. The lounge patio doors open onto the terrace with views across the golf course and a staircase that runs down to the pool and up to the roof terrace. Also upstairs is the kitchen with patio doors to the terrace and a separate cloakroom. The king sized bedroom is upstairs with doors opening onto a small balcony with views out to sea. Outside: Casa Bougainvillea has two private terraces and a small garden area leading down to the pool terrace. The 20 meter swimming pool is shared with the other houses. The main terrace has an outdoor dining table and chairs, sun loungers and a coal bbq. The gardens are well maintained and contain lemon and fig trees and tropical plants Utility Room: There is a washing machine and drying area in the separate utility room with an iron and ironing board. Cot and high chair are available. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bathroom towels and 100% cotton bed linen are included. Towels are changed and the bathrooms cleaned mid week. The beds are changed and the house cleaned and towels changed again at the end of each week Other: Casa Bougainvillea combines modern home comforts with unique paintings, carefully chosen wall hangings and cushions, handsome pieces of furniture, warm fabrics and welcoming rugs. Guests can be assured of comfortable and relaxing surroundings

Schöne Villa mit allem was man sich wünscht!

Eine sehr schöne und gepflegten Unterkunft mit allen was man sich wünscht! Sehr gut eingerichtete Küche mit Backofen, Mikrowelle, Wasserkocher, zwei Kaffeemaschinen und Co!

Auf der Dachterrasse ein riesiger Gasgrill, was will man mehr!

Die Anlage ist auch sehr, sehr gepflegt, wir waren zwei Wochen dort und haben zweimal dem Gärtnerteam bei der Arbeit zugeguckt! Auch der Pool war immer sauber und nie wirklich voll!

Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt und auch der Kontakt mit der Besitzerin was sehr nett!

Superb Family Break

We went on holiday with my son, his wife and our 18 month old grandson. This property is situated in a perfect location for exploring the Algarve, The Villa is furnished to a high standard and has everything you will need for a comfortable stay. The Patio, garden and pool area are well kept and have plenty of space to relax.With a 9 Hole golf course on your doorstep.The owner was extremely helpful and answered all enquiries very quickly. Also Ana the property manager responded quickly when we had a lighting problem.I would not hesitate to use this property again and would highly recomend it to freinds and family.

Beautiful holiday villa

The property listing was spot on in relation to location, layout, and facilities. The house was very clean and well maintained. The local beach is one of the best in the area and is only 10 minutes walk away, and the bar / restaurant on the beach is a nice place to chill. The villa and the location provide the ingredients for a great family holiday.

Fantastic place to stay

Our second holiday in this lovely accommodation. Spacious, well maintained/equipped and a great location.The children love the pool and we particularly love the huge balcony with beautiful views and the rooftop terrace, the perfect spot for a relaxing evening drink. There are several good restaurants within walking distance plus a shop and tennis courts. Plus loads of gorgeous beaches a short drive away. We will be coming back again!

Casa Bougainvillea is 600m from the nearest beach, Praia de Centiannes, where there is a delightful restaurant/cafe, fabulous waves and stunning cliffs. Holiday makers can walk along the cliffs in either direction towards the coves of Carvalho and Benagil or towards Algar Seco and Carvoeiro. Marinha, Canerios and Ferragudo beaches are a 15 minute drive away, all offering different beach experiences


Faro airport is a 45 minute drive from Casa Bougainvillea. Car hire is recommended to enjoy all that the area has to offer, but it is not essential. If travelling in the summer months, it is advisable to book your car hire early


There are restaurants, bars and convenience stores within 5-10 minutes walk of Casa Bougainvillea. Carvoeiro, a lively and picturesque ex fishing village, is a few minutes drive away. Lagoa, a 10 minute drive, is the nearest town and has a small farmers market, a wine co-operative, several supermarkets and cafes. Slide and Splash water park is 8 minutes drive away with Zoomarine and Aqualand 20 minutes drive. The medieval walled city of Silves is 20 minutes by car.

The Algarve remains a popular all round holiday destination due to its temperate climate and over 300 days of sunshine a year. The area boasts the most wonderful beaches, cliffs, flora and fauna as well as nightlife, golf courses, white-washed villages and medieval towns. It really does have something for everyone

Please contact us direct for all booking enquiries. We will hold dates for a reasonable length of time whilst flights are being confirmed. Once the booking is made, we require a 25% deposit with the balance payable two months before the booking commences along with a 200 pound refundable deposit against breakages and damages. There is free Wi-Fi at the house

Changeover Day:
During the high season, a Saturday changeover is preferable but we will try to be as accommodating as possible. In the high season, guests will need to leave the property by 11am to give the housekeeper time to prepare for the next visitors.

Notes on prices:
The house has the flexibility of being rented as a 3 or a 4 bedroom property. The prices quoted are based on 3 bedrooms ( the 4 poster, king size bedroom and twin bedded room) The 4th bedroom with twin beds or a king size bed, can be rented for an additional 150 pounds per week. The 4th bedroom has an en-suite shower room. The house is registered to rent and the number is 8092/AL

25%deposit is taken to secure the booking with the remaining 75% due two months before the date of arrival. The refundable deposit of £200 against breakages and damages is due before arrival
