The property is in heart of the picturesque village of Peyriac de Mer, and 20 minutes drive from the historic town of Narbonne. The property is a traditional village house, on three floors with four double bedrooms. It's excellent situation means that you are just a few steps away from the local boulangerie, café, restaurant, tabac for newspapers, small weekly market, local vineyards, pizzeria, and restaurant. The area suits all interests, food, wine, walking, wildlife, photography, local art, festivals, and not forgetting the Cathare castles, the canal du midi, and easy access to Narbonne, Perpignan, Spain, Montpellier, local beaches and much more. Whilst the house is ideal for families, it works well for one or two couples, or groups of friends. The house is well suited for an out of season break. We have recently installed heating, and we supply wood in the winter for the open fire. All charges for electricity and a supply of wood are included in the rental price.
Julia and Jack have lived in the local area since 2007. They enjoy the variety that the area offers in terms of the culture, people, heritage, wildlife, landscape and not forgetting the wine and food.
They have had many friends and family visiting them over the years, and have a good feel for what people want to see and do during their visit to the region. When looking to buy a house for holiday rental, they used their extensive knowledge of the area to choose a village and house that give people the opportunity to see life behind the shutters in a French village.
Jack and Julia live in a village 30 minutes away from Peyriac, and will look forward to helping you get the most from your visit to the region.

The area around Narbonne is an excellent base for a holiday. The variety of activities suit many different holiday needs, for the wildlife, the beaches, the walking, the history, the food and wine and much more. From Peyriac de mer, there is easy access to all areas of the region, even a trip to Spain is easy, and not far away.
Peyriac de mer has always been on Julia and Jack's list of places to take family and friends, for the beautiful scenery, the pink flamingoes, the proximity to the sea without being too touristy, and for the friendly people in the village. All year round people visit Peyriac de mer to walk around the etang, have a coffee or lunch at the café /restaurant, or a stroll around the picturesque streets.
The property gives you the opportunity to experience life in a small French village. The house is in the heart of the village, with just a few steps each morning to buy a baguette, or have a coffee while watching village life go by.
Julia and Jack have spent five months extensively updating and decorating the property, whilst maintaining the feel of a traditional French village house.
Your holiday could be centred around the village and its walks and wildlife, or to use the property as a base for exploring. The choice is yours!

My family stayed here for a week and wanted to stay longer! The house is very well equipped, there was everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable, pantry items well stocked, kitchen equipment plentiful and nice quality, plenty of towels and supplies.
The town is so beautiful and has everything at your disposal... The boulangerie around the corner, the tabac with Marie who was so helpful to us, the many wineries in the town, the excellent pizza shop, the little square that seemed to have different vendors show up each day besides the fabulous market day on Thursday. And don't miss the etang with the flamingoes just a short walk away! The scenery is beautiful!
Parking was easy and plentiful, just a short walk from the house. There are a couple of spots outside the door if you are lucky to get one as well.

Following an enquiry, we will send a contract for signature and request a deposit of 25% to secure the booking. Full payment is required 30 days before your holiday. If the booking is made within 4 weeks of the holiday date, full payment is required at the time of booking in Euros preferably by bank transfer.
A security deposit of €150/£150 is due on arrival, and, if no damages, will be repaid on departure. During June and Sept tax de sejour is payable.
During the high season we ask our guests to arrive after 4pm, and leave by 10am on departure day. Out of season there is more flexibility on arrival and departure day and time, depending on other reservations.

Option to convert sofa in small sitting room into double bed €50 per week - with additional bedding and towels. Maximum capacity remains at 8 people.
Between 1 June and 31 September a taxe de sejour is paid locally in addition to the rental cost. This is €0.60 per adult per day, and €0.30 per child between the ages of 13 and 18.
