2 bed Cottage in Sobreiro, Pedrogao Grande, Central Portugal - location In Tiny Village 10 Mins From Lakes,walks On Doorstep

Traditional Portuguese stone property nestled on the top of a mountain in an unspoilt hamlet surrounded by woodland and mountains with close-by town and lakes. (10 mins). Great for hiking, cycling, kayak and boating and sightseeing, swimming and lake fishing. The property has 2 bedrooms with very comfortable super king size bed and double bed. and a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs consists of a kitchen with original bread oven, dining room, sitting room with a double seated settee and a 3 seater settee. A wood burner is in the sitting room for those chilli nights. The property also has a balcony and a garden with seating area and private parking area outside. Internet via a pay as you go dongle. there is a bread delivery van comes to village every day apart from Sunday. fish van once a week.

there is woodland walks on your doorstep. there is an open garden in the village designed by a French lady.

there is village communal clothes washing facilities all amenities can be found in local town 9 minutes away in Pedrogao Grande.

very nice cottage+ lots of hiking possibilities

Last summer we spent two weeks at the cottage. Our idea was to find somewhere far away from noisy and stressing places, with few people, but also well connected to scape to the closest beach and some cities for sight seeing. And we reallywere lucky to find it. The four of us enjoyed it, also Argos, our golden Retriever dog, who even made some friends with neighbouring dog. Our kids really enjoyed exploring the town and the sorrounding tracks, inclusing a long hike we did to the river. The house offers you a quite confortably stay, with breakfast and BBQ in the patio. The housman and his wife were always ready to help for anythng we would need. they also recommended us not to miss some interesting visits. Definately, if you are looking for a country place, sorrounded by nature, lots of river beaches. quiet and with beautiful night skies because of no light pollution, this is a real good choice.

I wanted a property in central Portugal as I love the mountains lakes and rivers and true Portugal. I wanted a place that I could come and stay when I wished and to also make it available to others.

Nearest Airport : lisbon at 196.2 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : village Nearest Ferry : Santander at 691 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Anadia. there may be a closer golf course. at 94.8 Kilometres Nearest Train : pombal at 54.4 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Pedrogao Grande at 5.3 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Figueira da Foz at 110.4 Kilometres Car: necessary


The closest beach with miles of sandy beaches is 1 hours drive but well worth it.

Figueiro de foz has beach bars to enjoy a lovely cocktail on the beach.

nearest hospital : Avelar 23 minutes drive. 26.7km.+3512361620


Sobreiro is approx. 1hr and 55mins from

Lisbon and Porto airports.

4 hours from faro.

Usual airlines are easy jet and Ryan air

A car is essential and pre-booking on the internet and collection from the airports is easy and cost effective and good availability.
