Overview

Description

Seal Cottage Sleeps 2 (1 Bedroom)

Seal is our most romantic cottage and is specially designed for two.

The colour palette is reminiscent of the popular seals who frequent the nearby coastline. Muted natural shades contrast with striking tones of black and charcoal. Natural oak, slate and reindeer skin blend with linen, silk and pure cotton bed linen.

A beautiful hand-built kitchen is open plan with the living/dining area with its huge fireplace with log burning stove.

Upstairs is a large double aspect bedroom with king size four-poster bed and a chaise longue, and roll top cast iron bath in the room. There is a separate shower room with oversized console basin and WC and large walk-in shower tiled in black slate pebble.

Seal is a great base from which to head to Blakeney for a boat trip to the seal colony, followed by a scenic outdoor lunch of local produce at the Wiveton Hall Cafe.

Cartshed Cottages at Sharrington Hall are both stylish and comfortable. A mix of vintage and contemporary furniture, oak floors, natural materials and Farrow & Ball colour palette create a relaxed mood befitting of the local North Norfolk environment. Each cottage is inspired by something that for us, exudes the essence of North Norfolk – Seal, Salt, Samphire, Sky and Shell. The interior of each cottage evokes its name through the colour palette with which it is designed. Winner, Best UK Rental, i-escape Guest Awards 2013.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: All Cartshed Cottages have recently been renovated with new plumbing and central heating, and brand new quality beds, mattresses and 200 thread count bed-linens. All offer FreeSat TV, DVD player, iPod/iPhone docks, digital radio, wifi. Towels and linens provided. Sorry, our cottages are not geared up for infants or young kids, but children aged 10 or over are very welcome. We also love dogs, and have one ourselves, so well-behaved and clean canine friends are considered for Sky (small dogs for Shell), at an extra £30/stay (1 dog/stay). Note the garden is not dog-secure. All cottages are non-smoking/non-vaping. There is shared access to washing machine, ironing facilities and extra fridge/freezer space. The 2-bed cottages work well for groups of 3/4 or couples and carry couple rates. Outside: The Cartshed Cottages are situated in the grounds of a Jacobean manor house, Sharrington Hall. All cottages have their own terraces to the front, with table and chairs, which gives onto a shared garden. The garden has mature roses and lavender, with laylandii and cherry blossoms opposite the cottages. Salt is slightly separate with private terrace with views of the Hall. Views to the front are across the garden onto open fields, the back are of the Hall and west barn. Salt views are the Hall and green. There is off-road parking.

Beyond gorgeous - THE perfect cottage !

  • 5 of 5

We love this place!!! If we were to design our perfect cottage, Seal cottage would be it - a really special place, which was perfect for the romantic (childfree!) escape we'd planned, and we couldn't have been happier. Stunningly designed with amazing attention to detail, and completely gorgeous to look at. It had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Set in beautiful secluded gardens with a charming terrace for al fresco dining, and near to the beautiful North Norfolk coast and lots of lovely pubs. We could hardly bear to tear ourselves away...... Thanks again to Steve and Katie, who have created the perfect retreat here. We can't recommend it enough.

Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from our wonderful short break in Seal Cottage. Great location for touring North Norfolk and the cottage in itself is situated in a beautiful and private/ quiet setting. The interior of the cottage really made it special for us. Beautiful attention to detail in the design plus total comfort. It had everything we could need and was very well equipped for the 2 of us. Friendly owners who were on hand should we have needed them. We can't recommend highly enough!

A Fantastic Place to Relax and unwind.....

  • 5 of 5

Just perfect. A brilliant location close by the best bits of the Norfolk coast, very friendly hosts living in the hall next door, and the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle.

We stayed in Seal Cottage, a cottage for two, with a big dining kitchen, living room space downstairs ( and a lovely wood burning stove) a twisting staircase up to a calm, relaxing bedroom with a separate shower room, and a roll top bath.

Scented candles and brand new soft fluffy towels to take away all adding those little touches. We'd happily never leave, but unfortunately all good things.....

Highly recommended.

Fantastic luxury cottage 5*

  • 5 of 5

We were absolutely delighted to stay in Seal Cottage the luxury and romantic one bedroom cottage at Cartshed Cottages. From the moment I contacted Steve and Katie they were exceptionally helpful and continued to be so throughout the booking, confirmation and our stay - on hand if you needed anything but not intrusive . The cottage has been renovated to 5* luxury with real attention to detail. The bedroom suite was wonderful and the roll top bath pure luxury. The wood burning stove and comfy sofa made it really home from home and far better than a hotel. The welcome bottle of wine and nibbles a lovely touch as was the gift of the towel bundle. You could tell that Steve and Katie have a real passion in what they do and I would have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful place to stay. The Norfolk coast line a short drive for plenty of walks and lovely coffee shops/pubs etc.
