House in Praia Del Rey, Silver Coast, Portugal - Located In An Exclusive, Award Winning Golf Resort, 10 Minutes From The Beach

Our house is a short walk from the golf clubhouse, tennis academy and the beach. Praia D'El Rey is an ideal destination for families, whether you are looking for an activity packed holiday, history or culture or just a relaxing break in the sunshine. 2012 was our first year of letting so everything in the house has been carefully selected for our own use and based on feedback from our first year guests. The house is lovely and cool at the height of summer, the garden and sun terrace are great places to sunbathe or just relax and read your book. It is within 5 minutes walk from the clubhouse with convenient and easy access to the practice ground making it easy to hit a few balls as the sun goes down at night or rises early morning. The Atlantic coast offers miles of quiet beaches and is world renowned for surfing, body boarding and kite surfing. Alternatively, Obidos Lagoon with its calm and clear water for swimming or water sports is just a 15 minute drive.

About the Owner

The property is owned by the Green family who live near Bracknell in Berkshire. The property is furnished with products shipped from the UK and Germany as we felt these were better quality than local. We have only just started to rent out the house so everything in it has been selected for our own use.

Many of our family and friends have been on holiday to the property aged 2 years to 80 years. All have found many things to enjoy about the resort and the surrounding area.

Excellent well equipped villa

The villa was very comfortable and clean, I don't think the website does it justice. There is lots of equipment - tennis raquets, body boards etc that the owners are happy for you to use.

The beach is easily walkable and the whole complex has been very well laid out.

The owner provided great directions from the airport as well as lots of information about interesting places to visit. Obidos was our favourite.

I think the only downside for us was that you definitely need a car. The complex shop is very small and very expensive.

We love the weather at Praia D'el Rey as it's not unbearably hot in the height of the summer. The children have enjoyed many different aspects of the resort over the years. They love using the different pools in Vila dos Principes and the lovely, tropical gardens make for a relaxing environment for children and adults alike. The privacy of our town house, whether on the garden terrace or the upper sun terrace make for a tranquil setting for reading your book, sipping a glass of your favourite drink or socialising with a friends or family. Obidos is a wonderful walled, medieval town full of art galleries, local craft shops, artisan food markets and cultural festivals. Lisbon offers good flight options, lots of things to do and see as one would expect from a European capital city.

5 minutes drive/10 minutes walk to the superb Praia D'el Rey beach offering miles of sand and dramatic surf, ideal for sunbathing and walking. During the summer the beach has lifeguards. There is also a Lagoon about a 15 minute drive away from the property which is great for kids as there are no waves making it safe for inflatables and for children to go for a swim in.

Directions and key collection details to be provided prior to travel. The property is managed by a local couple who live nearby.

Notes on prices:
If excessive heating is used during any period of stay, an additional heating charge will be incurred. A meter reading will be taken by the managing agent prior to and at the end of the rental period.
Saturday is our preffered changover day but we can be flexible if needed. Arrival time after 3pm and departure before 10am to allow time for cleaning for our next arrivals.

  • Notes on accommodation: The house has full central heating and an open fire for nights when it may get a bit chilly. No smoking or pets are permitted. Parking is available at the back of the house. Outside: Two sets of french doors lead from the lounge to a large covered terrace which includes a table, 8 chairs, sun loungers and a patio heater. All pools are heated from mid-May to mid-September and one is heated from Easter to the end of October. The shared pool areas have sun loungers and sun umbrellas. Access to the house is via security controlled gates ensuring a safe, secure and tranquil environment at all times. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen, indoor and beach towels are provided. A mid-stay laundry change and full clean are included in the price of a two-week rental. Other: Separate dining room seating 6 to 8 with contemporary glass table and comfortable red leather chairs. French doors leading to large covered terrace area complete with outdoor dining table, 8 chairs, sun loungers and patio heater.
