About Andrew Malyon

Annabelles has been family owned now for over 20 years, and was rebuilt from the ground up in 1999. Being a traditional wooden Barbadian house in the sea it requires regular upkeep. Working and living predominantly in Singapore means we don't get to visit as much as we would like to, so we have put together a team of people to help you while you are there.

We still hold lots of amazing memories from years gone by with friends and family, and decided in 2012 to open up the house to others, and we hope you enjoy Annabelles as much as we have over the years!!

Andrew Malyon purchased this house in 1992

Fantastic position

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful stay, walking distance of the fish market, Mullins Bar and De Outback. Very spacious and comfortable accommodation though does need a bit of updating and the lighting is not good enough for reading. Problem in 2 of the bedrooms, wall plugs are operated by main light switch so could not have anti mosquito diffuser on at night so got very bitten!

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay. The location of Annabelles is key on the West Coast ! We already have plans for 'upgrade' in 2017. Some sockets do run from the main light switch as there are specialist ceiling fans in all the rooms (without lighting) suitable for use by the sea with lighting sockets for bedside lamps connected. There are other sockets that do work all the time independently as well. We will endeavour to explain this to future guests so they are aware.

The best holiday ever

  • 5 of 5

Annabelle's is the most amazing place to stay. It was our first trip to Barbados and we went with high hopes of white sandy beaches with hardly anyone else on them. We weren't disappointed. The house is so ideally located that with just a short clamber over the rocks, you reach the most deserted and beautiful beach. The house itself is a true beach house, with the noise of the sea and the dramatic views, it is amazing and hard to beat. We love the true feel of the house, which although exceptionally clean and gorgeous, also has the style of a natural, beach comber, property, with authentic, relaxed feel. Our children, 18,16, 13 and 9 loved the house and the area. Although we did get soaked walking to Mullins as the tide was a particularly high spring tide, it was another favourite of the holiday, and having such a cool and fun bar within walking distance meant that odd days we walked round to have rum punches and trips on the Big Mable boat rides. I can't thank Andrew and his team enough. Mavis the cleaner was wonderful, as was Veronica. I think perhaps Ricky the gardener was the person who made our trip truly special as he took us out on his little fishing boat and found us the most turtles to swim with ever. Such an amazing experience. Thank you

A privilege to stay here

  • 5 of 5

It was a complete privilege to stay at Annabelle's. The sea is noisy which is mentioned in other reviews) but we loved it. This is not a pristine business like hotel, but someone's home with open shutters, a fabulous deck, comfortable beds, everything we needed for cooking and views which few people in the world will ever have the experience of seeing. To sit in the plunge pool, watch the sun go down and drink a rum punch will be a memory for all of my life.

Beach front

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our time in Annabelle. This spacious home is set on a gorgeous beach and is close to all facilities and amenities of the island. There are a few bars on the beach and restaurants that can be walked too.

This is a family used home offering stunning views to the ocean.

The home is somewhat tired and kitchen/bathrooms and bedding are in need of updating and attention for the mainstream rental market. Otherwise thoroughly recommended.

Still beautiful !

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from our second stay at this beautiful house. Complete relaxation from the minute we entered the property. This is truly a little piece of paradise but don't tell everyone as we will be booking to go back again next year. Its not right in the heart of nightlife, but if that's what you want its only a short bus ride away. Who needs it when you can sit outside (or inside) with a chilled drink in the evening and stare at the beauty of the Caribbean sea. New diner open in walking distance 'De Outback'. Give it a go, lovely lady and good Caribbean food. Don't miss the opportunity to experience the local fish market and fruit stall for the freshest produce and stop in at John Moore rum shack on the way home for a cold beer. Bus service very frequent to both Speightstown and Holetown and both worth the trip.

Favorite meal - Rice n' Stew and fishcakes at Surfside Beach Bar in Holetown. Thank you Andy, Pauline and Ricky. We WILL be back.
