"The Oaks" with its patio doors leading to the private terrace and view of the grounds has an amazing all in one room of huge dimensions and four tall sash windows making all areas very light and bright. High ceilings give true balanced proportions and make this room in a class of it's own The 18kw wood-burning stove is a lovely feature and provides good heat in the cooler months; there is full central heating too, but you will hardly need it with this super efficient fire. The kitchen area features a modern range cooker (5 burner gas top + ceramic warming plate and 2 electric ovens + grill). The apartment is very well equipped for all your needs, includes dishwasher and microwave, 4 slice toaster and use of washing and drying machines in a separate laundry room. Our apartment guests are free to wander the grounds and follow the path through private access to the nature reserve. Or.. why not enjoy a barbeque in the special bbq area and light the fire pit for a sing song.
These stunning apartments are within a newly converted and refurbished Country House - now renamed "Holyland Garden Apartments" (formerly Holyland Country Manor Hotel). The conversation provides all modern fittings in the kitchen and bathrooms whilst preserving the character of this lovely Georgian building. Both "The Firs" and "The Oaks" have a large open plan living rooms, with flat screen TV and Wi fi and with lovely oak fitted kitchens with island units. The huge sash windows overlook the garden where you can watch the birds feeding at the table as well as the naughty squirrel who usually takes the nuts first in the mornings. The grounds have a pathway to the nature reserve and woodland beyond. There is a picnic and barbeque area for you to use or just sit and relax. Within both the apartments are 2 good sized well furnished bedrooms. The Oaks has full family bathroom, a double bedroom with king size bed and 2nd bedroom (en suite bathroom) with Double and a single bed, so ideal for 2 couples or a family of 4 (additional 5th person at extra cost). The Firs has a twin bedroom and a double bedroom with en suite bathroom, plus a family shower room. Both have washing machines and dryers and a dishwasher. We do ask that smokers only smoke outside the property and happily accept children over 6 years old - please supervise children at all times especially when playing in the gardens.
The owners are a semi retired couple who live in Pembrokeshire and enjoy many winter months in Carvoeiro. We have many friends in Pembroke, especially since running a small restaurant before retirement. Maurice was born and bred here in what is a small and friendly community. Christine also ran a villa rental company specialising in Carvoeiro for fifteen years and many of her owners and contacts in Carvoeiro have become good friends too. So, of course, we feel equally at home in either location. We both love walking the coast paths, eating out and exploring generally. We love "outdoor living" when possible and our two homes give us plenty of that. We are so, so lucky to be able to share our time in these lovely surroundings.
Christine Reynolds purchased this apartment in 2009
This building used to be an hotel, had closed down and I just fell for the grounds with the trees surrounding the grass with so many wild flowers, birds and butterflies. It's great that it adjoins the Pembroke nature reserve and the plan is to put in a gate that leads into the woods. The building is special - its Grade 2 listed and I wanted to restore as much as possible and convert into high spec apartments with tenants and visitors to enjoy the grounds and natural wildflowers and wildlife around. Everyone locally knows Holyland (pronounced Hollyland in these parts) and many have memories of christenings, weddings and functions being held here in the days of Holyland Country House Hotel as it was then known. Now there is a new life here but the wonderful atmosphere continues.
At the moment we don't stay at Holyland Gardens but live in a bungalow 5 minutes away. The renovating and conversion has been a long time in the making (over 4 years) and we are still back and forth when needed or pottering in the garden. See the Carvoeiro details too - Christine just can't keep her hands out of the soil. Our plan is maybe to move here in a year or so and enjoy the garden and keep adding to its charm. We would enjoy the spacious rooms in the south facing ground floor apartment - wonderful for family parties and the ceiling will take a huge, huge Christmas tree too. We hope others will enjoy these individual apartments - they are all different and each has a charm of its own.

The Oaks apartment is located on the ground floor of this high quality Hotel conversion.
It is located within easy walking distance of Pembroke Castle yet it is set in its own grounds.
The rooms a very large and very comfortable. Large windows and French doors look over your private terrace, the lawn and the woods beyond.
Everything we needed was supplied including a basic welcome pack.
Christine the owner met us at the property. We found her very helpful and kind.
Ample free parking is available at the rear of the property and whatever time we returned there was always space for us.
We were very pleased to see a large led TV in the lounge area as my wife becomes football expert when a major tournament is on.
The property is well located for visiting various attractions in the area and Christine has supplied a vast array of tourist information to browse.
All in all we had a great time, loved the area and its people. The food we had from various restaurants, Pubs, Fish and Chip shops etc. was good
All the places we tried were listed in the apartment by Christine.
Would we be happy to return, that is always the question, The Answer is yes we would.
Thank you Christine.

The flat was clean and even more spacious than expected. Christine and Maurice were very helpful and attentive, making our stay pleasant and problem-free. We very much enjoyed walking in the woodland nature reserve, accessible right next to the property. The weather was superb - we would like to order more of the same for next time!
The apartment was very welcoming and immacutely kept and the wood burner made the place very cosy. Impressive in size with lovely large windows looking out onto the lawn and woodland. The owners were very helpful and placed out plenty of bird food. It was a joy watching the birds and squirrels feed especially the woodpecker. You can walk across the lawn, through the wood into Pembroke which is a very relaxing, picturesque walk. The apartment is very close to the main roads for easy access to other sight seeing trips. The Griffin Inn at Dale made gorgeous food with fresh fish daily and sea views.
This place was superb......firstly the property itself has absolutely everything you could want plus a few extras thrown in by Christine.....well fitted out clean and well presented .......the location......set back from the road and part of a large house converted into flats.....large well kept secluded grounds which have a great BBQ area...ideally located for visiting the whole of Pembrokeshire.....beaches 10 mins....Pembroke Town...1 min drive or 10 mins walk.......anyone reading this, enjoy your break in Pembrokeshire.....but lets keep this place our little secret.....
We had a great week at The Oaks. The apartment was wonderful - huge, clean and well appointed. The location on the edge of Pembroke was ideal for us - close to some great beaches, Pembroke Castle and not far to the local amenities. The owners were friendly and very helpful.
“The Oaks” is a lovely apartment, equipped, furnished, and finished to a high standard. We were only the second family to stay there for holidays so it was essentially new. The living, dining and kitchen spaces are open plan and very spacious, especially the huge living room. The large windows give good views to the gardens and woodland beyond, and make this area very light – almost like being outside – especially with the patio doors open. The patio area immediately outside was for the use of “The Oaks” only, and is a real south-facing sun-trap, being sheltered from the wind. It was lovely to watch the many birds at the bird-table, including the woodpecker (and the naughty squirrel!) The bedrooms and bathrooms are of a good size. There was a large supply of logs for the wood burner, which was a focal point in the evenings.
We received a warm and friendly welcome from Christine and Maurice, who were happy to accommodate our late arrival, and were also available during the week in case anything else was needed. On arrival there were tea, coffee, and biscuits provided, milk and a bottle of soft drink in the fridge, and a bag of ice cubes in the freezer.
The apartment was spotlessly clean, and is well equipped, including details such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea-towels, foil, and cling-film. Linen and towels were provided. There is Wi-Fi internet access in the living area, and a large flat-screen TV (both not mentioned / shown on the website).
Although this is one of several apartments within the building we hardly noticed / heard the other guests during our stay. There is plenty of parking space. Pembroke town is a 10-minute walk.
We would be very happy to stay here again.
